If you like pokinometry, you will like this place. If you like spinfish, you may or may not like this place. Brand new poke place right next to chipotle in the TJ Maxx/Daiso plaza! Unlike other poke places in the area, this place is more simple, similar to pokinometry. You only have a few sauces to choose from, but I sorta like that because it's so much easier for me to choose a great dish. I recommend their house sauce mixed in with the fish and spicy creamy sauce on the side for dipping. You also get crab, seaweed, AND avocado here included. Other places usually charge for one or all of these. Their staff is also great and extremely energetic/friendly. And the place is clean and well decorated. Them not skimping on the aesthetics of the restaurant makes me feel like they won't cheap out on the food either. Now for the dislikes: They charge an extra $1 for yellowtail. No other place does this. Also, the quality of the bowl is somewhat inconsistent. I came with a party of 6 last night, and my bowl (which they made first) was GREAT. However, for the last couple people in my party, the staff sort of got tired/flustered, and just threw together their bowls. They also started giving less and less veggies for each bowl - I'm guessing because they were too lazy to give a full scoop after making so many bowls. Some had way too much sauce (too salty). And some had no sauce at all. Lastly, do NOT order the house spicy. If anything, order the house and ask for chili on the side... because their house spicy is basically their house sauce + chili oil. If you get house spicy, the majority of your bowl will be extremely oily and flavorless due to the large proportion of chili oil. First of all, this poke place has a very unfriendly customer service! Very inattentive when I asked them questions about the choices for my poke bowl. I'm giving this at least a 3 star is because overall the food is acceptable. The tuna is not as fresh as many other poke places. When I asked for an extra Spicy Mayo sauce. Every time I'm in the temple city area I like to try new poke spots, I'm glad I stopped by. This place has so many more options of fish then most places I visit. Seen this poke bowl place for awhile but never tried it til recently. I ordered the regular bowl $8.50 with white rice ( I need my rice). The regular bowl comes with 2 scoops of fish which ranged from salmon, albacore, tuna, spicy tuna, and yellowtail. The regular bowl is good for me but it is pretty small. I would explain the size as a mini bowl. Yellowtail is $1.00 extra. You can see how fresh the fish is as you order. I ordered spicy tuna and yellowtail. Next step you choose the sauce. They allowed me to sample. I decided to go with the kimchi. They have the house sauce which doesn't really explain what it consists of but we asked and it is just soy sauce and sesame oil. After the sauce you choose the add ons. Imitation crab meat, edamame, cucumber, and seaweed is what I added. They mix everything together for you. TL;DR Been here about 5 times, each time hoping the experience would be better. It never got better. First off. Where is the "Ahi" in the name? They don't serve any Ahi, no Ahi Tuna (No Yellowtail isn't ahi tuna. Their portions are mediocre at best, but low quality fish. You know like the ones that are super chewy like plastic and look like they've been out for at least a couple days. Point is, the quality of fish is below average, and that's HUGE for a poke place. Their condiments are pretty standard but I really wish they sliced their greens better, because there is a difference between a thinly sliced onion, and just a fat chunk of onion. Out of all the poke places I've been, this joint is the only one that has sprouts in their condiments as well as lotus root - which could be a good or bad thing, depending on your preference. Please don't get the lotus root because it really messes with the flavor of the entire bowl (unless you like slimy texture). They also don't serve free Avacado. The biggest problem I have with this place besides the mediocre bowls is the service. They're super slow at putting on the toppings, and its almost like they are literally counting the pieces of onion they put in your bowl. Also twice I've been there, they've messed up my order. Just the other day, the guy working there, switched my bowl with another customer's, took my bowl and added condiments that the other guy wanted instead. It was a huge pricing mess since I ordered an extra scoop of fish, and they had no idea how to resolve the situation when confronted about it. We got the issue fixed eventually, but the same guy then forgot to give me two toppings I literally just told him to put on, and I had to remind him yet again. Like how hard is it to scoop fish off of the tray into the bowl? For my troubles, they offered an apology which I guess is okay, but in the end, the food was pretty mediocre and not really worth the trouble. Their free scoop of avocado was usually the reason I was here instead of over there. This is a very convenient location because it has guppy house, Daiso, Chase bank, Grand Habor restaurant, Big Rice, and bunch of other restaurants. When I first walked in, the decorations seem very alike to lots of other poke places that I have been to but much more spaces compared to others. The workers are young, friendly, polite and energetic, which makes good impression to customers. Greets when you coming and say Bye when you leave which mean they really pay attention on customers! Thumbs up! For the food, there are two sizes small$7.99 (2 scoops)and large$8.99 (3 scoops).. Price is a dollar different between two sizes. You can choose between white rice, Brown rice, salad (mixed green) or half and half. They have multiple fishes like tuna, albacore, salmon, spicy tuna, octopus and etc. they have 4 different type of sauces: house special, spicy creamy, sweet circuit, and house spicy ( I believe)... You have to try it yourself in order to determine which flavor fits you best! (Fyi: you can mixed them up) My favorite is spicy creamy and sweet circuit mixed! Wow, this place is awesome! It's your typical poke place.. You go in, select your rice/salad, fish "protein", sauce, and toppings. It's like Chipotle, but for Japanese food! The ingredients here tasted very fresh, everything was delicious. The crispy onion was in much larger chunks than I'm used to, it was interesting. I was recommended the house sauce, which was good. The price is pretty cheap compared to some other poke places nearby. 8.50 for a regular (2 scoops of protein) and 9.75 for a large (3 scoops). The interior was kept decently clean. The tables could've used a wiping, but there was a clean one for me to sit at. What made this place stand out to me were the employees! I ate here Tuesday night, 1/5/2016. I ordered large salad with tuna and albacore. Finish the whole thing. Thought this will be my new favorite place. Turn out, this will be my most dreaded place to eat. I pooped and vomited that midnight. Thought I was already ok so I went to work. However, i feel ill again in the afternoon and couldn't drive back home. Asked my co-worker to drive for me and along the way, i vomitted twice!!! I just learnt that my co-worker's husband also ate dinner here on Sunday night and got ill as well. I WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE AND YOU SHOULD NOT DARE TO EAT HERE. This is one of my favorite places for poke. I go for the half salad half rice large portion. It comes in this huge see through container. They put the fish and salad together and mix it with the sauce you order. You can ask for it not to be mixed, but that makes it less saucy. I love all the selections this place has. I get all the toppings offered. I request for some extra topping that don't cost extra and they throw on more. The staff is knowledgeable, so feel free to ask about the sauces and toppings. I enjoy the house sauce mixed with the wasabi aioli. One downside is that they make you pay extra for Yellowtail. Some other poke places I go, do not need to pay for that extra. So I usually get the Tuna, Salmon and Albacore. Never expect poke to have the grade A quality cuts FYI. The store is very spacious and it has a lot of natural lighting. It makes it a fun and causal place to eat. The parking lot is huge, but it is always PACKED. With all the new restaurants opening in the plaza, it is very difficult to find parking. read more

This was my first time coming to here, my friends always talk about it so I came here to see how good their poke is for myself. When I first enter I was greeted unlike other shops. Service is superb. All of the employees here always have a smile on their face and offer to make my bowl however I want it. Justin, our server with the piercings, was extremely nice and one of the most pleasant employees I've ever encountered! Now to the food. I ordered a large with white rice. Although he did give me too much rice, Justin asked if the amount of rice was to my liking and adjusted it accordingly. They offer avocado for free (which all other poke places I've been to offer at a price) as well as an unlimited selection of toppings. Their fish scoops are reasonable for the price, well worth it ($9 for poke, don't expect too much)! For my three scoops, I got the salmon, tuna, and yellowtail. Justin offered his input for the sauce and it was delicious. He mixed the spicy creamy together with the spicy house and it was perfectly in unison with the fish and toppings. tl;dr - I've been here a lot. Price and fish are good, good toppings. Originally a 4 star place, but thanks for the GIANT butterfly in my salad today. Avoid the salad and you should be good? Long version: I really enjoy(ed?) this place - you get good portions for the price. Lots of free extra toppings. The fish is usually great quality, and I've never had any tummy problems, and my lady and I have eaten here quite often over the last few months, since it's fairly quick, healthy, and good for late work evenings for us. I'll be fair and take everything else into consideration. You get good choices - starting off with white or brown rice and/or optional addition of salad (dont), and red onions. We've only tried the salmon and albacore, and possibly the tuna once. All taste great and fresh, and the yellowtail, spicy tuna, and shrimp always look great as well. I always forget the sauce names. Miso-ginger? Spicy mayo? Blazin I believe is the one we now always get, but I have tried a miso one, and it wasn't bad. The toppings are the BEST part, theres too many to name, but they all really flow with the bowl, taste and texture wise (except the jicama imo). There's no limit to how many you can choose, so go crazy! (I always feel slightly guilty by the end.) Its hot, so spring for a coffee macaroon ice cream sandwich - you won't regret it, even though it's a little pricey. Self serve utensils, I always forget and it's a little annoying, especially for take-out. I would have given this place a four star. Sometimes service is a little lacking - on a few occasions, they've switched people out midway and the person coming in has no idea where in the line they are, and while the music choice is usually good, there have been a few occasions where its just TOO loud and neither the server nor I can hear each other. Whatever. I can deal. It's just, THE SALAD. Why salad why. I'm 97% done with my bowl at home and go to scoop up what I thought was the last dredges of leaves. Wait, why is it kind of irridescent? Ambiance: This place has a clean, modern feel to it. There's lots of seating, areas are brightly lit and the serving area is always neat/clean. The Poke: The fish sizes are great here! They definitely don't skimp out on fish servings either. I also love the fact how avocado does not cost extra (major plus). Fish has also been fresh my last two visits! Don't think that will change anytime soon. There are lots of toppings here; the most special one is probably mango! Though I'm a little sad they don't have furikake. But they do have dried seaweed and sesame seeds! (So you're almost there). Service here is great too. This last time I was there I asked for two proteins and got two small pieces of salmon when I asked for the blazing salmon. When it got to the toppings part they gave me 1 cucumber slice. To be honest, it's really very good and the service is top notch from the 2 times I came. Everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming, and they play awesome music. The portions are great and I find it the least skimpy of all the poke places I've been to. They're really not stingy about any of the fish or toppings. There is a huge variety of toppings and they even have jicama, which is not common for poke places. Unfortunately, what kind of breaks it for me is the quality of fish. My friends who went on a separate occasion also complained about the fish quality. It was pretty gross because my boyfriend bit into a sharp bone today and it was unpleasant. He also had weird chewy tendonous bits in his fish that he said took away from the texture. I really didn't like the skin that was all over my salmon either. This place would easily be a 5 star place if they could just raise the quality of fish. I'd be willing to pay more for a higher quality fish. It's such a shame that such a wonderful place is brought down by one singular thing, but the fresh fish is pretty much the main draw of poke.
