Ryman is a place where I have spent a lot of my time recently across numerous branches in…read moreManchester Arndale Centre, Rochdale, Leeds and now this branch on Oxford Road, which is quite a small branch but still stocks a decent range and some pretty decent stuff, the essentials basically and a little bit more, it is in a great location being so close to the Central Manchester Universities on Oxford Road, had this store been anywhere else it would have probably got a single one star but I feel the location and rage in a way has done enough to earn at least two. Some of the biggest flaws about this store is the size, for example it is hard to browse the store without something blocking it, making the already narrow passageways seem like an Obstacle course, perhaps something like you would see on Total Wipeout, a game-show filmed in tackling danger in Argentina, broadcast in the UK. The store is also really well hidden, other than a small sign, it is so tucked away, it seems like one could walk past it, which really isn't good especially if you're not familiar with the area and are not sure where it was, the situation I was in today, it just didn't seem welcoming because of this and it felt like it was saying "Don't come in We don't care" rather than "Please come in", which is something every business needs to do, value and attract its customers. The staff seemed nice enough and got my return sorted rather quickly, there was a decent range of memory sticks on the shop floor this time, rather than picking up a cardboard card and taking it to the till, saving some hassle. There was a small and decent range of most products you would associate with Ryman and the staff seemed quite nice too but due to the isles being so narrow, and lacking accessibility and the store simply not seeming the biggest, best or most welcoming I sadly feel this store warrants no more than two stars and I'm finally pleased to give this branch its first review in a whopping 5 and a 1/2 years

Isn't it funny how so many people claim to love stationery but hardly anyone can spell it? Even…read moreotherwise flawless spellers seem to confuse stationery and stationary. I was always taught the spelling by the rule, 'e' is for envelope. Alongside envelopes expect to find diaries, calendars, folders, paper, printer cartridges, pens, highlighters, Tippex, Post It notes, blank CDs and pretty much every other item of stationery you'd need in the office or at university. OK, so you could probably get a lot of the items for cheaper in the union shop, or if you're at work you could raid the stationery cupboard, but it's a well-stocked shop nonetheless. They don't sell larger objects such as office furniture and printers, as it is really only a tiny little shop. Guys - not a bad shop to have a wander round when your girlfriend is in the waxing shop next door!

An amazing sales assistant Molly went out of her way to help me. The reserved item was still in the store and she brought it for me to see before placing my order ( I needed to check it was suitable as I have a medical issue or two!! ) Huge thanks for unbelievably fantastic customer service and the understanding shown . Definitely worthy of more than 5 stars... highly recommended!

This branch of Currys PC World is quite a nice one, being in a retail park it is much larger than…read moremany other stores, including one about 15 minutes away in the Manchester Arndale Shopping Centre, unlike other retail park stores this also has a nicer layout, more friendly and just seems nicer than other stores such as the Oldham branch, When I walked in, I was greeted by someone who works in the store but for HP, who mainly works for HP printers, but can assist with other store matters, I do like HP printer but it would have been good to have someone neutral to provide advice on all printers, not just someone who had a big shirt with HP written on it. They seemed to have a decent, albeit small range of printers, most of which at reasonable prices with some good offers with them, which seemed a little confusing, but it wasn't labelled on all the printers, despite it being different on what you buy, which makes me doubt whether this is real, as it means the average customer would not know it, which is a shame they are not making the offers public, which could include free HP instant ink for 5 months, possibly getting 150 sheets a month free, normally £7.99 and then reverting to the lower package of 50 sheets costing only £1.99 a month, and then you can use pages that role over, to double your allowance if you want to. As this is a larger store, it is known as a Currys PC World megastore, which Dixons who own both companies seem to have rebranded most of there stores as, and it also includes a small Carphone Warehouse. It is a big store but still the range of some items seems a little small and wallking around seems a little confusing as it is all mixed in. Some things did seem confusing such as having a sofa at the front and it just felt more of an unusual vibe, but still deserves a solid three stars.

I took 2 items into the Stockport branch to be laminated, the staff completely ruined both items…read more These items had been especially purchased for me from The Netherlands. They must have had the laminator too hot as they all wrinkled up and jammed the machine. I was give a refund for the laminating costs. However they refused to compensate me for my ruined goods. Eventually the manager got permission from the head office to give me a £10 gift voucher to spend in their own store !!! I explained that this was unacceptable, this voucher could not replace my items!! The usual manager said she'd email the office again to ask for cash!!! 3 weeks later I am still waiting for a response. What sort of manager needs to get head office approval to give a cash compensation payment when its her staff that ruined my goods. I have found this company and its staff to be totally incompetent , untrustworthy with my possessions and in fact totally useless. I would NEVER recommend them. APPALLING

They stck pretty much the same things as stationary box did, including a wide range of pens, art and school supplies, office supplies etc. They also stock a small amount of electrical items such as printers and shredders. The prices are quite good. This is well worth a visit if you have children that go to school/college, or if you use a lot of office supplies and stationary. The staff are friendly and there isnt usually a queue at the till.

There is a good selection of sandwiches, snacks and drinks if you are popping by for lunch. Importantly, the Union Shop stocks fairtrade chocolate, snacks and colas - and boycotts Coca Cola, which makes for some ethnical munching and slurping. Further towards the back you can find newspapers, magazines and plenty of stationary for a good price if you've forgotten a pen or are looking for a tidy set of highlighters. The shop also houses useful things like tampons, nail scissors, sewing kits and gaffa tape in case you are having some kind of small disaster. Closer to the counter there are official UoM hoodies and sweatshirts which come at a reasonable price and are well made. My only issue is that it gets very busy and the queue very long, but other than that it is a perfect student shop.

You name it and its there!…read more This is a multipurpose store and hence its placing in the students union more than meets perfection! It has the usual corner shop knick-knacks, and it has the basic bits that any Ryman's would possess, infact way cheaper! I'm always happy buying my stationary completely guilt-free here, considering the big stationary obssession that I seem to have! They have very beautifully done arty cards for most ocassions or even plain ones, where in you can leave a pretty note to someone special! Apart from this they store sandwiches and baguettes which are a good bite in between your busy day and what better than you to pick it up just when you're amidst important work at the Union! So people if you haven't noticed this place already, I'd say pop right in and maybe you'll be equally thrilled to find the usual £4 pukka pads for just £2 here as me!
