Luisa Xiaoyan Zhang - What a team of TCM experts - family business in 17th (!) generation

First of all, in brief: Best "Traditional Chinese Medicine" TCM practice ever! THANKS!…read more The Zhang family is now in the 17th (seventeenth!!!) generation of TCM. I lived in China from 2008-2013 and met many TCM professionals there. The most important seal of quality is experience over generations. And love for people. You can get it here! Even my 5 year old likes coming to Sissi! And what the Zhang family gives you in terms of healing, care and empathy is individual AND holistic: Prevention is the guiding principle, healing when necessary and operating when there is no other option - like with my new hip joint. Now for details: Yes, my hip surgery was unavoidable after an accident 5 years earlier. But by the time the operation was carried out, my pain had been reduced without the use of chemicals, my overall well-being was increased, purified and detoxified, everything that you would expect and unfortunately cannot get from traditional medicine. And as a bonus, 3 TCM experts, each with their own focus: - the gifted "needlewoman" who needles the head and electrifies the blocked meridian down to the little toe, - the mother with her diagnostic skills (tongue, pulse diagnosis), and - the now official practice owner, daughter Zhang, Ms. Pan, who heals intuitively and also provides your little emotional added value, namely understanding the little bad habits that brought you here looking for help, and how to lovingly let them go. By the way, with perfect German, humanistic education, born in Germany and have rarely met such an educated and tolerant person. And this is what I took away with me: Healing begins with yourself - until you realize this, go to TCM in Munich Schwabing and let the 3 ladies decide who will help you with which question/ailment. Just trust - they'll do it right. All 3 are TOP, let go, they will fix it. Parking spaces directly in front of the practice are very tight and scarce, but are always available on Leopoldstrasse - 100 meters on foot to Fendstrasse, or 200 meters by public transport stop "Münchner Freiheit".

Klare Empfehlung!!!

Was disappointed with my experience here. The studio is located in a nice part of Munich, well…read moreappointed, but very small. My main complaint was the ambient noise, which I describe in detail below. I've had some experience with authentic Thai massage and felt that the massage I had was authentic and very good, not great. I had to briefly stop my masseuse when she was flexing my (post-surgical) knee in a way that was painful. I knew in advance that there would be significant stretching involved, and while I absolute despise completing written questionnaires and liability releases before a massage, a brief "Any injuries or limitations?" is always appreciated -- did not happen here. I paid an additional fee for a "foot massage" and there was little to none of this included in my service. There was an extremely brief (less than 60 seconds) foot soak in sudsy water with rose petals, after which my feet were dried and I was led to a dual occupancy room and instructed to put on a pair of (enormous, like size 50) pants that resembled hospital scrubs. A small changing area, basket and hangers were supplied. Another man was receiving a massage in the room, and although I'd consider them natural in this context, I didn't particularly care to listen to his grunting noises. Luckily his time was up shortly after my massage started, but the noises grew worse from there. Owing to the open ceilings, the sounds from the street came all the way back to my room (which was the farthest from the storefront). These included horns, sirens, and shouts (like really, really aggressive drunken shouts). There were also sounds from what sounded like possibly a restaurant or maybe a family's home -- there were several loud noises from a young child, and what sounded like a cart or mop bucket. Worst, I could hear the staff speaking intermittently throughout my massage, including negotiating with current and potential customers at the front. Lots of discussions about how tight some other dude's muscles were, haggling over prices, encouragement to buy more expensive services, exhortations to return, chats in Thai among the staff... and so on. As I paid, I kindly mentioned to the hostess that I had noticed quite a bit of noise and that I recognized that most of it was not the establishment's fault. She smiled and said she knew, and others had mentioned it, and that it was not their fault. Hmm. In summary: massage 4 stars, environment 2 stars. The ambiance here was anything but relaxing. Although my muscles felt somewhat better when I left, my mind was never able to get away from the outside world -- perhaps the thing I appreciate most about a good massage. My suggestion to the management: close the ceilings to the massage rooms and invest in sound-dampening items like curtains or acoustic foam.

Best massage I've ever had. I travel all over the world for work and frequently get massages to…read morehelp relieve pain that comes along with it. I randomly found this place on google after I was turned away by a couple other places that were closer to where I was staying because they were full. I decided to head over to Sumitra because after i was told they had some availability in about an hour. The place was very clean and the was greeted by the owner with a delicious tea. I decided to get a 90 minute Thai massage. During the massage she took her time and really payed attention to my troubled areas. I can tell that even though it was later in the day, she wasn't going to give me half the effort to get me out the door. I wish I was in Munich more because I'd be a regular here for sure. Highly recommended this place.
