This place is a fantastic Irish Pub a block away from the water. It is a short distance from Main Street and really must be tried. It makes a cold day even better if you get to sit by the fireplace. Food is wonderful. As with lots of RI places, they have Stuffies ( a stuffed quahog) but they bring it up a notch with their own cocktail sauce. It really creates a new experience. Sad to say, but Aidan's has jumped the shark. On a recent visit it felt like the owners have thrown in the towel and given up. We used to be huge fans and the good was great. Not anymore. We've read of problems they've been having with the township and unfortunately it shows in the good. A Caesar salad was a plate of wilted bits of iceberg lettuce, a few croutons, a sprinkling of powdered Parmesan cheese - and that was it. No tomatoes.It was the quality you'd expect on an airplane. The turkey club used to be amazing. Now it was just OK. Still real sliced turkey breast but old and dry instead of rich and savory. There's a long list of draft beers on line. When asked the waitress said the only draft beer available was Harp. Literally one draft beer out of over a dozen on the menu. We'll sorely miss the old Aidan's, and hope a new owner might come along. read more

Cute little pub near the docks in Bristol. When we were there, a wedding party was just leaving so it was super busy and our wait time for food was a bit long, but definitely didn't hold it against them. I had a stuffie and the harp necks (littlenecks in beer broth). The stuffie was a good size and pretty flavorful. It was served with a very horaeradish-y cocktail sauce which was excellent. I'm usually a hot sauce person on my stuffies but this was great. The littlenecks were decent. I would have preferred the broth being a little more flavorful and the soda bread that accompanied it to be toasted, but it was still a good meal. Our server was nice,if overworked, and price-wise it wasn't all that bad. What on earth has happened in the last 4 years? How can the quality of the food and drink go so downhill? Four years ago I gave Aiden's a 5 star rating. Today I'm lowering that rating to one star. We stopped in for a lunch this week only to find the restaurant nearly deserted...5 diners and 2 people seated at the bar. When our food arrived, we found out why the restaurant was deserted...the food was absolutely devoid of any seasoning or flavor. The Rueben flatbread was not edible and my burger was dry, having been pressed so hard to remove the fat that I was left with a tasteless dry patty. It was supposedly topped with carmelized onions, but they were not carmelized, just grilled. Very disappointing and expensive meal. We will not be back unless they hire a proper cook. read more

My wife and I took a ride from Cumberland to Bristol. Had lunch at Aidan's Pub which we have always loved. Understandably, I'm 100% Irish. So as a loyal Irishman I ordered A pint and a Reuben and my wife the fish Rueben. My Reuben was the best I've ever-had. Atmosphere was amazing (roaring fireplace) view of Bristol harbor. We're From long island visiting family. Drive past a few times but never had the chance to stop in. I recommended my daughter try it and she loved it so we had to stop in. Ambiance was great. Live the decor. Felt right at home. There was Plenty of room we we're a party of 8 and the parking lot had plenty of room also. Service was great she did very well and was very nice. The Apps were good, had the shepherds pie it was good. I felt like the gravy could've been better. Sad to say it felt like jarred gravy. I was surprised. It was good but could've been way better. Since my last review on 1/6/2019, Aidan Graham, the owner, passed away. God bless him. He ran the best Irish pub in the U.S. Unfortunately, his passing and likely COVID has resulted in no more breakfast items on the menu including the traditional Irish "Fry Up" Breakfast. What a shame! I took my son to Aidan's this morning so that he could have a fry up, but we were told they no longer served breakfast. We opted for lunch and enjoyed it. My son had a Reuben sandwich, and I had a turkey club. Both were very good. For starters, my son had the RI clam chowder, and I had the New England clam chowder. Delicious. Aidan's still pours a great pint of Guinness, too. I hope that Aidan's considers going back to the fry up, though. read more

Prices up; portions and quality of food are way down! I am local and have been visiting regularly for years. I was sad to see that under new ownership this Bristol staple has gone downhill. Imagine a pub out of a pirate movie... that's what Aidens Pub reminds me of with the classic ambiance of a restaurant on the water. Having a fairly large dining room that can accommodate large parties, this place is great! Our server was a little beside herself when we asked for split checks but it eventually worked out. It's so good to be able to go back to Aidan's after a few month of COVID induced shutdown. The staff and the owner have done a lot to make it easy for the customers like us to dine there. They take reservations over the phone or walk-up, take your info for contact tracing purposes, requiring a mask, and place people far enough to ensure good social distancing. All staff wear masks and some wear gloves. All executed well here. This gives me the confidence I need to come back until we have the cure and the vaccine. The menus are now somewhat limited, but my bar food fav, nachos are still on the menu! I know that I have come to Aidan's for drinks in the past; however, I can't recall if I have ever gone here for dinner until tonight. I regret that mistake wholeheartedly! It was very good, but after trying a bite of my wife's chowder, I would probably go that route the next time. For dinner I ordered the chicken pot pie. Now there are a lot of meat pie places in the area, and I have always found their pies to be quite dry and nasty. Aidan's does it flawlessly! Their pot pie could seriously not be any better!!! Big pieces of chicken, loads of veggies, and a nice thick gravy. The crust was flaky and cooked to perfection. When you cut down into it and take a bite of the whole thing together you are going to be blown away! We decided to give Aiden's a try this evening as it had been many years since our last visit. Great choice!!! We decided to get there for 5 pm to beat the crowd on a Saturday night. It was perfect timing and we were seated immediately! Our server was very quick to greet us and get our beverages. I chose the hard pumpkin cider with a sugar/cinnamon rim and let me just say YUMMMMY! I was so excited with my selection, I felt like doing the Irish jig! lol. My husband went the traditional route and went with a Guinness. N.E. Clam Chowder was alright, I would probably choose something different to start with next time. I'm sure many people like it as the menu stated, but I am a tough critic with chowder. I was torn between three entrees... the Dublin Chicken Pot Pie, Shepherd's Pie or Grandma Ennis' Chicken Dinner... The server said they were all good, so I went with Grandma Ennis' Chicken Dinner sautéed with mushrooms & Bailey's Irish Cream sauce. Served with mashed potatoes & sliced zucchini. St Patrick's day started at another Irish pub in MA, which shall remain nameless. We sat down and were ignored for 30 minutes, listening to a lousy one man band play southern rock on St. Patrick's day. We got up and left, and headed to Aidan's We arrived late night, found a table and heard the kitchen was closing in 5 minutes. The waitress (Linda?) could have just said no, but she checked and was able to get our orders in. The food arrived a short time later and was AMAZING! The drinks were AMAZING! The service was AMAZING! Across our party we heard things like, this is the best burger I've ever had, and this corn beef is incredible. Aidan's I should have known better than to have stray! We really enjoyed our visit here. Great selection of beers, although they were out of some IPAs. Lots of beers on draft. We tried the fish and chips which were delicious. Huge piece of fish and delicious hot and crispy fries. My only minor complaints were that the coleslaw was kind of bland and one of the bathroom stalls in the restroom was not very clean. Just came to Bristol just check the nightlife out. I do notice that there is good mix of old and young crowd at the old I was told tourist. It is 4:42 PM on a Sunday and looks like they are doing live Irish music. When you first walk in we have to make sure you have to walk for the past the bars and tables because the hostess stand is not directly in front of the door. My waitress Ellie was nice she recommended a 14 ounce Angus steak with mashed potatoes and vegetables. You know I wasn't planning on drinking but I decided to have a Truly Wild Berry. We have tried this place twice since moving to the area in hopes that the first time was just a bad day but unfortunately we had the same experience both times. First time we came here because it's the only place in the area that had a full Irish on the menu. Well we came and ordered the full Irish the first time both the white and black pudding where cooked to the point that they broke off in crumbs. Rashers also followed the same suite cooked to the point that it was basically jerky, no grilled tomatoes they also tried to pass off regular American break sausage as bangers and when questioned we weren't told until after our food came that "they were out of bangers" even though we specifically ordered a side of bangers, would of been a good time to tell us when we ordered the extra side no? Overall terrible experience really hope the owner isn't actually from Ireland because i have no clue how things like this are given a pass and no one has brought it up before. read more

Saddened that this early dinner wasn't as expected. The first clue could have been at seating when it could be seen that something was just off. Once seated outside, the order was placed. 15-20 minutes after placing orders for two, we were informed the kitchen was out of clam cakes. After 45 minutes waiting for a veggie burger and two stuffies, the stuffies arrived very wet on the inside, just not done. 30 plus minutes later a replacement order arrived that was crispy on the outside and just enough done on the inside that we felt them safe to eat. I heard that Aidan's is so popular that you need to go when the colleges are not in session so that is what three of us did tonight and we were not disappointed! This Irish style pub is beautifully laid out with inside, outside and outside covered seating. Even tonight during their "off season" the place was full so I can only imagine what it is like when the schools are in session! We began with 12 oz glasses of Kentucky Bourbon beer and flavorful pot stickers that were served with hoisin sauce and exceeded our expectations. I had an Ahi tuna sandwich that was served on a hamburger bun with seaweed and wasabi mayo. At first I thought the bun should have been grilled but my medium rare tuna was so flavorful that the not grilled bun was just fine. The sandwich came with steak fries that were not at all oily and held up when I drenched them in vinegar (a RI thing) and ketchup. My fellow diners ordered the pulled pork sandwich and the fish Reuben. Both agreed that their entrees were exceptional as well. Our server, Lauren G (who in a year is going to be an excellent nurse) was friendly, personable and attentive. She helped make a very good dining experience into a great one! read more

Still bad. I came back to try it out and since Aidan sold it, it has all been downhill. Service is good and waitstaff is still all wonderful but sorry food and the place is still falling apart. I really really do want this place to succeed and thrive, but it really seems the owners just do not care, and the manager has his hands tied and trying everything to keep it going. Menu is much much smaller and food quality is just down the drain. I dunno who Rob L. Is, but it seems like they might've hired a PR person or marketing agent to boost the reputation. Sorry the food is probably the biggest problem. Nice descriptions but nowhere near the wonderful description he did. My advice: Try fixing the things that aren't working or have dissolved in quality. The PR will take care of itself. Just ask anyone who has worked there in the past 30 years. They could tell how it ran and what is seriously lacking now. read more
