Pretentious owner and rude. I wear an 8/10. Took an item to the dressing room and she told me to be careful not to damage the item when trying on as it looked too small for me. Had been in once before and there is no service. No one acknowledges you. I buy couture clothing in boutiques across the country as I travel for work. I know my size. New to this area and was shocked by her lack of couth. I was also dressed well. This happened a year ago when moving to this area & haven't been back. What a lovely find on my recent business trip to Des Moines. I've walked past a dozen times and finally had an occasion with some extra time to browse. I love the selection, really unique well-made pieces. A decent size variety- my pet peeve is walking in a boutique where everything is extra small. This is not the case. She has something for everyone. I came away with a dress, a fun T-shirt and a beautiful two-piece outfit that I had to have when I saw it in the window. The owner was very sweet and helpful, not at all pushy. The store is beautifully decorated, it's very relaxing just to browse. Reminds me of some of the shops we have back home in Philadelphia. I will add this place to my schedule on my next trip back to Des Moines. Well done! read more

I love little boutiques like this but the staff was rude. They were behind the register drinking wine and couldn't even say hello. I asked a couple questions about some of the clothing and only received one word answers. The owner was also there and was not welcoming at all. Will never be going back read more

Very nice clothes here for the ladies.. Only problem is I did not see anything in the store that was under 100 bucks! Which is a little out of my league when it comes to dresses for my wife! I mean I must have great taste cause everything I liked and looked at was like 300 bucks! But that's cool there is a store like this in the East Village! When I did walk in though they kinda looked at me like I was in the wrong place and did not really give me the time of day as a customer.. Oh well. Cool clothes, weird vibe! read more

Gorgeous selection but waaaay out of reach financially. We live in the area and I wanted this to be a place where I could grab a few quality and nicer pieces. The sales ladies, as others mentioned, remained ultra-focused on one customer and during a 15 minute visit, I wasn't even addressed. I'm very much looking forward to the launch of their more reasonably priced sister store a couple blocks up. read more

Little boutique in located in the East Village of Des Moines. Pricy digs. Upon walking in, I thought at first I'd found a place such as ANGL or Kaitlyn then I saw that they had stuff from Wildfox Couture and Cosabella. Great if that's what you're looking for. I've come in here a couple of times (in both their new and old locations) and I've never been greeted or asked if I need help. The employees are often talking amongst themselves or with friends. When you're in a more upscale shop like this, that kind of thing comes across as pretty stuck-up and unfriendly. The selection is pretty good for Des Moines, but it's nothing I can't find at home, and I'd rather spend my time browsing Eden or some of the new vintage places on this street where I feel welcomed. read more

This store is pricey, but most people know that before going in. My problem with this store is the atmosphere. It's not very welcoming unless you are a frequent shopper or know the ladies that work there. I've never heard a greeting upon walking in the door (even when I say hello first and attempt to make eye contact) or when leaving. All I'm asking for is to be acknowledged! It's a small shop, so it's not like they don't see you walk in. read more

I was visiting Des Moines in July from the Detroit area and had the pleasure of getting to shop at Aimee. The selection of clothing here is above and beyond! This is bar far one of the best and most unique boutiques I've ever visited and next time I return, I'll be sure to visit with more than just a carry on.
