On a Thursday afternoon around 3:30p there was a 45 min wait. It's a sea of cars with six bays. Bays five and six are only for all wheel drive and traction control vehicle vehicles. The last time I had to do this with a different car almost a decade ago. It only took 15 to 20 minutes total. I am still sitting and waiting 35 minutes later in line for my car to be tested. It might be time to get a hybrid and electric vehicle to avoid emissions tests. This is the first emissions test for my SUV vehicle. Friendly service and the test takes only 5-10 min just happened to go when it was busy. There is a restroom in the lobby around the corner from the bays and they do take checks, cash and credit cards with a 2% fee. First timer here. I live in California and took my dad's car in for him to get his emissions test done. I got there about 7:50AM and it was already open, even though the website said they open at 8:00AM, so I'm not sure what time they actually open. You wait in line then they have you pull your car up, and then you go into a waiting room. It's very sparse, a few chairs, not enough for everyone in there waiting. No water, no restroom, just a room like being at a carwash. You wait in there until they call out your car, such as Chevy, Subaru, etc, and then you pay. I could see my car was done with the emissions part about but it took about 15 minutes for my car to be called to check out. That's what slows the whole line down because there is a backup of cars that have been inspected but have nowhere to go so the cars waiting for inspection can't get in. They only had one person doing check out for all the lanes. She did a great job, but they are obviously understaffed. All the staff was nice. The website is pretty good. They update wait times every 15 minutes. There are locations all over the Denver Metro area, and this site seems to be one of the busiest ones. I was there a total of 50 minutes. Not bad, but I got there early. By the time I left, there was a very long line of cars. Use the website. The locations on the south side of town seem to be less busy when I compared wait times online. It's a hassle for sure, but it is what it is. read more

Hello, I want to talk about a place located at 10190 E Warren Ave, Denver, Co 80231. Today 19 December I This morning, December 19th, I went to this address. This is my first time taking this test. First, I arrived at the office, then they explained to me where I needed to go. I took a ticket, the barrier opened, and an elderly employee approached me. He asked me a question, which I didn't understand the first time. I asked him to repeat it and felt irritation in his voice. He asked if I understood English, and I said yes. English is my second language. He asked what year my car was and where I needed to park. I asked him why he was speaking so rudely. Oh my God, what happened next! First, he said that I needed to learn English, then he started insulting me. I asked him why he was talking to me like that - his answer was, "Because I want to." Of course, I left there, I wanted to go into the office and call the manager, but I changed my mind. If an employee allows himself to behave like that with customers, then the manager is probably not much better. America is a country of immigrants, and no one has the right to tell you that you speak English poorly or that you have an accent. We came to this country, we work, we learn the language, we pay taxes, and it's very painful when someone says something like that to your face. I've lived in America for a long time, and this is the first time something like this has happened to me. I just told myself, "God will be his judge." I also worked in the service industry for many years and couldn't even imagine talking to customers like that. I will never go back there and will recommend a different place to all my acquaintances and friends. Maybe they provide good service for cars, but not for people. The American Constitution has an article against discrimination, but apparently, this man is so confident that he won't be fired that he allows himself to insult people in this way. I wanted to tell him, "What kind of man are you if you talk to a woman like that?", but I realized it was pointless to try to reason with him. I went to the Warren location on Tuesday, January 6th. I waited for an extended period of time, while no one was doing any work in the bay of the line I was waiting. The line next to me had two cars and they closed the line down, then they moved the cars in that line to other locations, including in front of me in my line, completely unacceptable! Finally when my car was to be checked, it wasn't completely checked. The young man told me it wouldn't pass because my tire pressure light was on, however, I have 2 month old tires and after doing research this should not have caused the rejection. Also, having the tire traction light on, and according to the research this does not cause rejection. The only reason there would be a rejection if the tires were old and needed to be replaced, as I said tires were purchased within the last 2 months, brand new Micheline tires. First you do not close a bay down if you still have cars, you finish with the cars in line and don't move them in front of other vehicles waiting. According to my research my car should not have been rejected due to the reasons given. There were many employees just wandering around and chatting not working. I have used this location for many years (70 years old) and will definitely never go back, as the service was completely unacceptable! As time goes on the service should improve not get worse and people who don't care whether the job is done correctly and accurately. I would not recommend you go to this location, they are not professional, do not care whether the job is done accurately and professionally and seem to be very lazy, also are not accurate on what they are telling the customers. read more

I'm upset having to write this review. I don't write bad reviews either. I usually just don't go back, but I need to warn everyone about this place. Around 5pm I took my car in from out of state that was in perfect running condition for an emissions inspection and vin verification. Took about 20 minutes for them to finish, however, they forgot the vin verification. I paid for the inspection while the inspector had made me wait to get a vin verification. The moment I got my car back I noticed three things, REDUCED ENGINE POWER, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, TRACTION CONTROL DISABLED. I mentioned this to inspector as soon as he came back for the vin verification. He told me "Don't worry, we set that code off on purpose for testing. It should reset itself after driving, if not bring it in and we'll clear it for you". Mind you they passed the emissions test with NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. After i finished the vin verification I drove my car. It wouldn't go past 2000rpm making it dramatically slow. I drive this way for about a day hoping it would clear, but no. I took the car back 12/21/2022 at 8-9am to Colorado air care to see if they can clear the code. They refused to touch my car and told me to file a claim with their adjuster. Now, I have no car and they're saying if they find anything EVEN IF ITS NOT RELATED TO THE ENGINE ISSUE I AM RESPONSIBLE. I will keep updating this review as I get more information. read more

This must be the worst system in the country. They say on the website not to come on this day and that day because they're busy but I tell you I come by the location in Golden almost every day and it's always busy it's always got a 30 plus minute back up. Why is this system so broken either pay the people more or get more mobile stations which is another issue altogether . Why do that process is free but if you don't get lucky and hit a couple of those systems then you have to pay money and go in and waste an hour of your day . There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to what order they let people in for testing. I am currently writing this review from in line. I arrived about 45 minutes ago and watched a car that arrived Maybe three minutes after I did. that was the first of about eight cars that have now gone through before me and have been pulled into a separate lane to accommodate them and only two cars have gone in my lane. I don't know if it's the employees fault or if it's poor organization, but this is extremely irritating and there needs to be a much better system put in place. Or at least some communication from the workers. Also I wasn't in the four wheel drive lane, so that wasn't the issue. read more

I was at this location on Warren Ave. 6/27, arrived at 11:45. All 3 lanes were packed. Had to wait 5 minutes to get a ticket another 5 minutes for the line to move forward enough for the gate to close. 10 minutes to move 2 cars forward. Lanes 4, 5, and 6 were only ones open. I started in lane 5 then moved to 6 since it seemed to be moving. I made note of the car I was originally behind. Moving to lane 6 pur me 2 cars ahead of my place in lane 5. Long story short, as i watched 6 cars and..TWO and 1/2 hours later I got my pass report. If it wasn't for the guy behind me yelling WTF, just as I was thinking, I'd still be there! There was definitely something WRONG with lane 6. If a car stalled, I get it, but y'all shoulda pushed it out of the way. I don't know the problem, just took the most logical explanation for sitting there 2 hrs. To their credit they opened lane 3, and took the ahead of me, myself and my friend behind immediately after his outburst. Moral, when it's not fair, yell WTF!!! read more

The entry should be different. You grab a ticket and then get in line in one of their bays. But the ticket is not based on first come first served. I am sitting in line right now actually, and there have been at least seven cars that were behind me that have already gotten in. It's as if my line is not moving at all. Pretty ridiculous. I waited in line for 1 1/2 hours to get in. i was the very next car to do my test. I have a Prius and the technician said it would take 5 minutes. The lane to my right wasn't moving. The technician came up to me and said the 2 cars in the other lane were going in front of me. I wasn't happy but agreed to it. 10 minutes later the technician starts waving me forward. I look to my right and ask about the 2 cars that were supposed to go in front of me. The technician shakes his head no and waves me forward. I then drive up to the inspection area. A older man then asks me why I am in my car. I tell him I was waved forward. He then starts waving me forward through the whole garage until i drive through all of it. I stop and tell him that I havent had my inspection and he tells me I am being kicked out due to not following the rules. I tell him exactly what happened and he tells me I need to talk to the manager. I tell the manager what happened and he says since I am outside the garage the only thing I can do is go around and wait in line again. I just left after that. I have no idea why they did this to me. I had to be at the DMV in a hour and a half so just had to reschedule. I did absolutely nothing wrong and know nothing that happened to me will change anything. Beyond AWFUL!!! Each of the 8 times during the last 18 years that I've brought my car to this testing center has been an awful experience. Today, two cars were in front of my car. It was about 4pm. I thought, "Oh, good, this will be quick." But it was well over an hour before my car was called up to the front of the line. During the long wait, it seems there had been confusion and arguing by people in the other lines that slowed everything to a crawl for everyone. The heat, the engine fumes, the noise (you can't hear yourself think, let alone hear anyone yell) -- all these things seem to be the ingredients in a recipe for short tempers. The tiny waiting room doesn't help either. The employee who took my payment at the end acted as if he hated everyone. He screamed at me; I couldn't make out his words, but his noise rose above all the other noises. I don't see myself returning to the East Warren Avenue Aire Care Colorado Emissions Testing Center in the future. This testing center is a few blocks from where I live. From now on, I'd rather drive miles to one of the higher-rated emissions testing centers with better service and less drama. read more

I seriously cannot believe how long I just waited at this location. The line was long but the website said it was a 43 minute wait, so I figured what the heck. Well I got in line at 11:45 AM and I finally left at 2:38 PM. I wish I was kidding. It could not have been more of a disorganized mess. The best part was that they only had one lane open for AWDs. We're in Colorado! Everyone drives an AWD! They were also incredibly understaffed and it seemed like no one had any idea what they were doing. 3:45 on a week day afternoon was the perfect time to go get my mom's van emissions and vin verification. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. There is a wait time monitor on their site which gives a really good estimate so you can plan accordingly. Very bad experience at the Warren Street emission testing site on 06/20/23 around 9:00 AM. The elderly man giving lane directions was rude and unprofessional. No on was sure which lane to get in because of this confused individual. When questioned about directions he was giving he became insulting. The result on this day was a number of cars ending up in the wrong lane and other staff having to direct cars to the correct lane prior to entering the testing garage. I was told by one of these staff members that the elderly man was new. I saw at least three cars leave the site in frustration when staff tried to redirect them after an hours wait. The experience I had today reflects poorly on this operation. read more

Ive been to the Warren center twice now and had horrible experiences both times and both times my car wasn't inspected. the first time the lines were so long and the instructions to drivers were so unclear that it led to further confusion and the lines getting messed up. I also sent stuff member yelling instructions at people, even though the directions were already confusing. after waiting over an hour I had to leave to get to work. the second time I and about 15 other people arrived before they opened and waited past opening. something seemed weird because no employees were outside so I called the general air care line and found out they weren't opening until 10am that day and didn't have signage out to tell anyone. First of all they told me that my car didn't pass emission test, because they couldn't read my vehicle's computer... i insisted on a recheck, because I passed the emission 5 month earlier with no problem, i knew there was a mistake. So they sent me to another bay and of course it passed. I am new to Colorado from out of state and needed a VIN verification. I arrived just before 8AM (opening) and the door was unlocked so I went in to make sure I had the right documentation. Matthew Ironwing was in the hallway so I asked him if I had everything required in case I had to go home (I live quite far). The company website is unclear about what documents are required. Matthew was extremely abrasive and rudely refused to glance at my documentation - he said "You can wait outside until 8AM" I went back in at 8AM (world clock said 8:01 AM) Matthew was in the office and saw me through the glass, so I patiently waited for him to address me. Instead of doing his job (and act appropriately), Matthew remained sitting and kept talking with other employees, so I had to ring the bell to get his "attention", then waited another 30 seconds before he stood up. Matthew sauntered over then said "Now that it's 8AM, how can I help you?" ...turns out all I needed was ANY paper with my VIN on it. Matthew could have easily told me that at 7:49 AM. You WILL be waiting for more than an hour. 2: they have more than three lanes, but good luck if they open them all or not 3: make sure THEY get your license plate correct while you're THERE, because if THEY AND WHEN THEY mess up putting in your information, they don't care about your time they expect you to Get back in line and do it again. Not good management and customer interaction! I was in line on a busy day March 24. In one of five lanes open, when movement halted for over 30 minutes while all adjacent lanes advanced. I walked up to a man I assume is in some kind of a management position: short, short gray beard and glasses - and stated it appeared the lane had stopped moving. I asked if there was a problem and if we could be waived to an operating lane. His aggressive response included only to get back in the car! He then came to my car later and tried to start an argument. I have seen personnel waive drivers to other lanes in the past when there were problems. Maybe this guy was having a bad day but CO Dept of Revenue needs to check on whether these are run well. Happy with rest of crew and getting car checked. read more
