I love going for walks in Finland. It's such a beautiful place to be outdoors. * Close to the Metro Now that the Metro line extends out through Espoo, all the restaurants in Helsinki are just a short ride away * Ice skating rink During the winter they have a large community ice skating rink where the reflective pool is during the summer. * Sauna Seems everyone in Finland has a sauna, but I really like the Tapiola Garden sauna. They have a small swim pool which is refreshing to float in after getting warmed up in the sauna. They also have a balcony so you can cool off outside with your friends. * Running trails Especially great if you come in the summer. There are many trails throughout Espoo, and you have good access to them from here. I like to run down to the coast, around the harbor, past the old Nokia/Microsoft HQ to a wooded beach called Karhusaari. The views are excellent. There and back is about 5k.

A very utilitarian hotel. The room is small and the bed narrow. Otherwise it has everything I need:…read morea safe, a mini-fridge, and free WiFi. There's even a courtesy umbrella should the weather turn hostile. The free breakfast is quite decent, though they stop serving it too soon. I mean, 10am is like 30 minutes after sunrise this time of the year :-) If you don't plan on spending much time in your room, Hotel Anna is a perfectly good option considering the price and convenient location.
