Airavata proves that even great drinks can't redeem a toxic atmosphere. While the concept of a sober bar is admirable and the drinks themselves were artfully crafted--a commendable highlight--the experience was sullied by the staff's glaringly unprofessional conduct and the insular demeanor of regulars. Having lost my father to alcoholism a little over a year ago, I made it clear to the staff that I was coming here in an effort to stay sober. Yet, despite my openness, I was met with condescension and disrespect. From the moment I walked in, it became painfully evident that this establishment operates less as a welcoming community space and more as a club for insiders. Newcomers, like myself, were treated with little more than cursory attention, while regulars were treated with a level of enthusiasm entirely absent in our interactions. Such favoritism not only undermines the inclusive ethos a space like this should cultivate but also leaves a sour taste that no well-made mocktail can counteract. More troubling, however, was the blatant misogyny on display. Comments and attitudes that should have no place in any modern business were casually served up alongside the drinks. As a patron, it is profoundly uncomfortable to watch staff engage with women--particularly those unfamiliar to them--with condescension or thinly veiled disrespect. It was a stark reminder that no matter how progressive an idea might seem, it can still harbor regressive attitudes behind the counter. Worse still, the staff seemed to condone outright bullying. Whether through indifference or complicity, they allowed regular patrons to mock and belittle others--especially newcomers--without intervening. For a space ostensibly meant to foster connection and community, this behavior was not only disappointing but alienating. It's hard to feel welcome in an environment where hostility is tolerated and encouraged by silence. Adding to the dysfunction, the bartenders frequently abandoned the bar to cater to customers of the vape shop at the front of the establishment. Rather than keeping one bartender dedicated to the bar and one to the vape section, the constant back-and-forth disrupted the flow of service, leaving bar patrons waiting far longer than necessary. It was a poorly managed setup that made the space feel less like a haven for sober connection and more like an afterthought to a more lucrative business up front. In short, Airavata serves excellent beverages but fails to serve basic decency. For those seeking a truly inclusive, respectful environment, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. If I could give less an 1 star I would. This place is a joke: sold me a device that the dude knew took salt nics and it was a device he recommended as he said he uses it as well. I call the store and inform them they sold me not the correct e-liqued and told me to come into the store with the bottle. * thinking I will exchange no charge* their mistake I was told they do not exchange and I would have to pay for the new * correct bottle* To add to it: they don't know anything about the brands they sell I told the lady I don't like fruit monster: her first recommendation after I stated this was " have you tried fruit monster" And could not inform/ make recommendations based on what I said I liked. There's nothing I don't love about this place. Super knowledgeable and accommodating staff and a wide variety of products. The only part I've yet to explore is their kava bar only bc I haven't been able to carve out enough time to enjoy it but I plan on correcting that soon! Definitely recommend them!! read more

Airvata employees are chill and understanding, they'll help you out with questions and if there is a problem with something you buy (which happens at any store) they don't make a big hassle out of it. ****Check your products**** I stopped by the shop on Thursday as I was leaving to go out of town on Friday. I bought a bottle of juice and left. Friday morning as I am packing, I go to get a fresh pod and coil ready to break in with this new bottle of juice. I open the box, look at the juice and notice the color, it looks off so look at the expiration date, it expired in July... and it's currently September. So I call the shop, inform them of the issue and they advise that I should bring it back for a different bottle. I go in, advise the gentleman that is helping me of what happened, and he tries to tell me that it might not be the expiration date but a bottled on date. Now I haven't worked at a vape shop in almost two years but I don't think EXP 7/22 would stand for bottled on date. He looks at all the other bottles of that flavor and they are all expired. I then asked if I could just switch it for a different flavor, he says yes, we decide on another flavor and he looks at the box and says this one doesn't have an expiration date on it and that I should be all good, I take it and leave. Half way into the 5 hour long drive I go to open the box of juice, look at the bottle and this one had an expiration date of 8/22. At this point it's all I had to use and sucked it up for the weekend After I get back home on Monday, I call the manufacturer to make sure that the date written on the bottle is actually an expiration date, they inform me that it is and that I should bring it back to the store I purchased it at for an exchange. I go back into the store and it's the same gentleman that helped me on Friday with the other expired bottle, he sighs and says "I'm not sure what we are going to be able to do, I really wish my manager was here." After some back and forth he did end up switching it out for a different flavor that wasn't expired. But I have two major concerns here: First: They are knowingly selling expired products, as all the expired bottles are still sitting on the shelf for sale. Second: I feel like I was made to be the problem when I wasn't. I purchased a product that was expired, tried to return it and never received an apology for the inconvenience on two separate occasions Now I'm no expert on hospitality but if I had customers paying twice as much for a product they could buy online, I would try to keep them as hard as possible. But sadly, the way this gentleman handled this situation will make me think twice about returning and I will definitely not be recommending anyone shop here. read more
