The porch was one of my favorite places to be, you can hear the sound of the birds chirping and enjoy the relaxation of the porch swings and thriving greenery & flowers. Definitely recommend. 5 stars! You pick your breakfast and dinner times, just give a days heads up. Wonderful food & coffee! Not to mention the hospitality could not be topped. What I have found is that the staff is incredibly nice. Others who were there also commented on how accommodating and genuinely friendly the staff is. They allow pets and dog relief area is out back. The hotel is constantly being cleaned and what smells like sterilized. The manager arranged for food trucks to be outside the hotel during this natural disaster to help those staying to have easier access to food. This isn't an area I would have thought to visit in the last, and drove past many years ago. However, the hotel management and staff made an incredibly stressful time so much easier and brighter than I could have thought possible. Thank you to them!!! So much.

I travel a lot, and this trip happened to be on my way back from seeing a medical specialist located over 9 hours from my home. The room and building are extremely dated and worn out. There were stains on the walls, bed and floor. The towels in the bathroom are kept disgustingly close to an exposed filthy pipe. I spilled my coffee on the floor and myself in the morning because the door sticks when you try to open it (a safety hazard). We asked for extra bedding and the person attending the desk when we checked in merely plopped a trash bag of linens on the floor for us to retrieve when we came back in from unloading our vehicle. The lady was friendly, but did not seem to care much. Also, I was traveling in a party of 5. I was given 2 water bottles upon arrival. The family that came in after me was given 4 bottles. The breakfast buffet was similar to other locations, except for the flies and non-working pancake machine. The worst part of all? The desk attendant who had the morning shift, Shaunn, stopped me when I came in from walking my service dog. He insisted that I sign a paper about my service animal and then said that this form is "required by Florida law"-- this was a lie, which has either been told to this employee as acceptable to say by his superiors, or it was his idea of intimidation to suit his doubts or judgment of my disability. I felt harassed and annoyed that he would lie to me. I told him I had never been asked to sign one before, but I signed to be cooperative so that I could finish packing up to leave. The problem is that I was inconvenienced and treated differently-- why? Because my disability isn't visible to this bored ableist man? I have had a service animal for several years, have traveled to at least 4 states with said animal, and have never ever been asked to sign a form such as the one I was handed. It asked what my dog did, and stated that I would be charged $250 should they find any "stains" when they go over my room with a black light. Do I get proof they checked it before my stay? I doubt it. Let's be serious- this is a $150 hotel in the middle of nowhere, near a prison in Florida. Do you think it will be clean when checked with this so-called black light? Or is this form a type of intimidation and discrimination? I know I won't be back. I don't recommend this place to anyone. Drive to Marianna instead. Or if you're going another direction, anywhere but here.

The hotel worker fixed my TV because it was on the wrong HDMI at first. I guess the WiFi needs rebooting. I would ask that to happen, but I am exhausted and don't have the energy to go back to the front desk and ask her to reboot it, because I already had to go there to get her to fix my TV. I am glad to have found this place. I am exhausted and I am looking forward to sleeping hopefully for 10 hours or more now. Bad phone signal on ground floor. No internet thru WiFi signal.

There is fresh baked scones as well as beverages in the Frig.. We stayed in the Sadie's Room on the 1st floor which was nice. It was clean and relatively quiet. The breakfast was very good. Negatives: One of the things that is lacking in this B&B (and many other B&B's, hotels) is suitcase holders. The Hinson House seems to have only 2 for the entire B&B. Our room had only one but luckily we were the only guests that evening, so we were able to get the other one. The B&B is located on one of the main drags through town. Vehicles go by relatively fast and can be dangerous when pulling out if one doesn't exercise caution. It was a delight talking with David and Olivia. If traveling through this part of Florida, we definitely will be staying here again.
