This procedure was supposed…read moreto help figure out why I suffer from chronic hiccups--episodes that last 24 to 48 hours straight, where I hiccup with every single breath I take. While I was with the nurses preparing for the procedure, Dr. Briggs walked in and asked, "How are the hiccups, are they getting any better?" I told him no. His response was, "Sounds like you're going to have to deal with that the rest of your life." In that moment, my heart sank. I felt like all hope had been ripped away from me. I held back tears in the room, but inside I was completely shattered. The thought that I might have to live the rest of my life like this was unbearable. After the procedure, I sat in my car and broke down, sobbing from the devastation of his words. But deep down, I know this isn't the end of my story. With the right doctor and God's will, there is hope. I will never return here again.

My eyes were still half closed as they were dumping me in my drivers car post procedure . I was promised some medical attention about a personal issue and not only was I lied to (to keep me from rescheduling) but I also didn't have an opportunity to discuss the extremely painful experience I was dealing with. Lastly I was promised an RX to be called in as a consolation prize and that didn't happen. There were a few friendly souls working for the practice that I would like to acknowledge but I wasn't given time to even get there name. Thank you nameless nurses.
