In a small town that struggles to survive through the long winter like Seward, this shop does something remarkable. They also sell Native Made goods CHEAPER THAN ANCHORAGE. I am an advocate of selling as much local, native made goods as possible. I had a conversation with the buyer at the store and he was telling me with each passing year there are less native carvers and artists because elders are passing away. They have some incredible pieces of art in the store. For people that don't have large sums of money to invest in art pieces, they have some local pieces of jewelry, Alaska themed shirts and hats, stickers, mugs, magnets, books and cook books, etc. They have also have a whole aisle of toys for out-of-towners who are desperate to satisfy a whiny kiddo during a trip. They even have ponchos, backpacks, umbrellas and other immediate need items that are often very hard to find in a town this size. Honestly, don't judge and book by its cover.
