If you're looking for Greek food in the Vilseck area, this is the place you should try first!…read moreDefinitely number 1 in the area with incredible flavors and options for every palette. Most visits, I enjoy eating the grilled pork, fries, and horiatiki salad on the side. (Greek Country Salad) It definitely won't disappoint. Filled with olives and a lovely piece of feta cheese. There is also a chicken and pork dish that is served with a white wine sauce and rice. It is so tasty! If you're coming here for the first time, this is definitely something you don't want to pass up on! If you're looking for an appetizer, the sampler is delicious. There is a wide variety of traditional Greek foods on it. My favorite is the stuffed red pepper with feta cheese. The service is quite pleasant most times and very quick. Portions are above average and priced reasonably. Don't skip out on enjoying some wine from their selection! The semi-sweet red is absolutely delicious!

A solid choice for greek food; but I didn't have time to try the other greek place on Marketplatz…read morefor comparison purposes. I ate late, so it was quiet and finding a table was easy. Kreta is fairly small, maybe a dozen or so tables of varying sizes, and it shares an entranceway from the street with another restaurant, so don't look for a dedicated doorway off Marketplat (just look across the street from Aladdin Grlll and slightly away from the clock tower). My Kritharakia (orzo with a tomato and meat sauce, topped with cheese and baked) was good and filling. The greek farm salad was exactly what I wanted; lots of tomatoes, cucumber, and onions with a couple olives, topped with two slices of feta and drizzled with olive oil and herbs. It wasn't some mind-blowing salad, but it was a nice change of pace to get so much fresh veggies in Germany. If I liked ouzo I'd have enjoyed the complementary shot of it that came with my Sprite, but I'm just not a fan of licorice-flavored liquor unfortunately.

Since the new owners took over I wanted to give this restaurant a second chance, but unfortunately…read morethis experience convinced me not to order from them again. Mistakes with orders can happen, and I would never leave a bad review just because something was misunderstood. I was charged and delivered an extra meal that I had never ordered. As soon as I noticed the mistake, I called the restaurant immediately. I was told that the driver would come back to collect the extra meal and refund the money, so I simply waited as instructed. After quite a long time, I called again because nobody had arrived yet. Instead of receiving an apology, I had to explain the situation all over again. When a young employee and a man (maybe her husband or boyfriend) finally came to my door, the man immediately tried to blame me for the situation. He repeatedly claimed that I had waited two hours before calling and told me that "next time" I should call earlier. That was simply not true. I had called as soon as I had discovered the mistake and had only waited because I had been told that someone would come to collect the extra meal. Everyone can make mistakes, and I understand that. What disappointed me was not the original mistake, but the complete lack of an apology and the attempt to shift the responsibility onto the customer instead of acknowledging what had happened. This was the second chance I gave this restaurant. Unfortunately, after this experience, I won't be ordering from them again.

The food was amazing, the atmosphere sitting outside was great with a gatehouse from 1569 to view.read more
