First time in dearborn with my middle eastern family and we were recommended to come to this place. We came here on the way to Canada. Anyways, my parents loved it, portions were pretty good. The lamb or beef, whatever it was, was pretty decent. Not my favorite. BUT OMG the hummus and bread are the BEST! I'd honestly just come here for the amazing bread and hummus. This is a great place for good Arab food. Order the AlAmeer Platter which is beef, chicken, lamb and Shawarma all were splendid. This restaurant is great but a little too overrated. Kinda like Lonzo Ball, this restaurant is famous and has high expectations, and it does good once in a while, but overall its decent. We waited 15 mins for someone to come to our table and ask us how may I help u, finally I get up and go talk to the hostess and she's like ur waitress is really busy, someone will be with u shortly, waited another 10 min, finally someone comes without a smile or name and asks us how may I help u with an attitude! This place was amazing (and not just because it was our only escape from a 3 day conference in Dearborn). HUGE portions, delicious chicken, perfect dolmas. When our (very nice) waiter explained that they were out of baklava, he said "go to Shatila down the street" - which was even more unbelievable, with a huge counter of sweets and pastries (include sugar free baklava!), a great busy and loud environment -- all in all a delicious and exciting time for a bunch of bleary eyed visitors. read more

They have the best...the best...the best...Middle Eastern food on the planet. We have never once been dissapointed with the food or the service which is why we keep coming back again and again. This is a great place for vegetarians/vegans! We were staying in a nearby hotel, and having been very disappointed by Red Star -closed on Mondays, but not posted on Yelp; we were pleasantly surprised to find such a delicious place to eat. We got the falafel platter, hummus, spicy potatoes, vitality juice, and mango juice with banana, which they without a problem omitted the honey. The falafel comes with a delicious garlic sauce and tahini sauce that are both dairy-free! We also ordered the grape leaves which were a little disappointing. I've had amazing Mediterranean stuffed grape leaves (traditionally served hot, not like their Greek counterparts). These were a little too thin, not stuffed generously, and weren't very flavorful. Still, overall the food definitely hit the spot! Our server was super friendly and nice. He spoke intermediate English, but went out of his way to communicate clearly for our vegan needs! :) read more

THE best Arabic / Lebanese food I have found. Simply the best! The young men running the restaurant truly care about the customer's dining experience. The Al-Ameer platter is amazing. The kibbeh-nayyeh, is always fresh. The bread is always piping hot. The parking is a little challenging, and dealing with Dearbornians ( not a real word) requires a lot of patience by I highly recommend this restaurant. we go to Al - Ameer every time we are in Dearborn , we were turned on to it by the guys at Hashems Nuts and Coffee ( which is amazing too) and I must say we have never been disappointed . the servers have always been helpful and quick and when we were there yesterday we met the manager Asaab , very nice guy and sent us over some of the tea we had bought earlier at Hashems . the baked kibee is amazing and the portions for everything are huge. They have the best and freshest tasting salads, like they just picked up fresh produce from Detroit Eastern Market. If you like Lamb Chops you're in for a real treat, they're some of the best I've had. Their sandwiches are all very tasty and very delicious crushed lentil soup (with a lemon wedge). I've heard they own the meat market attached to the building so that explains why their meats are very tender (lamb chops rare) and the raw kebbeh is amazing. Don't forget to try some of their fresh made juices, especially the vitality. If I didn't live so far away from Al-Ameer I could eat there every day. read more

The food was perfect and delicious. BUT after I got home I noticed that the waiter overcharged me and he wrote that on my bill as a tip. I called the manger as soon as I realized that and he told me what was written on my receipt and he said "just come any time and take your money; I'll pay you from my pocket" he also said that he will check with the waiter and might fire him. Decent food, decent prices, good customer service (regardless the fact that some waitresses expect you to speak arabic), but poor cleaning service. It's a good place to go to for lunch or breakfast. I'd suggest them to serve customers with purified water instead of regular water from the sink. read more

I came for the lunch and came with family and had the family set 2. The quality of the items varied quite a bit. The pita bread is tasty and went well with the hummus and baba ghanoush. I wasn't too fond of their salad though the crispy bits were enjoyable the salad as a whole was a bit too sour for my tastes. For the actual meats I felt the chicken was underwhelming both on the skewer and chopped. The beef kabob was great and the ground meat kabob was okay. The lamb chops were okay though still better than the chicken. The two types of rices were nice though the flavor differences were fairly subtle and were easily washed out when eating with other items. The falafel was quite tasty and the chopped beef was okay. In general I felt the main downfall of the chicken was its dryness. Some of the meat was a little more burnt than I would have liked, but as it is middle eastern that is in the style (somewhat). Service went well and they continually checked on refills for both drink and bread which is a plus. It is however also important to note that we came in the late afternoon so the lack of competing diners may have benefited us. For the price the portions were quite generous and we were able to take much with us. So in terms of value it does quite well. All in all there are many items Al-AMeer does well, but there also several items they don't do as well. If I was going again I would avoid the chicken and the salad, but enjoy the other options. read more
