Masjid is good to accommodate quite a few people but very poor parking facility. I wish they used money wisely to build some sensible parking deck for in and out traffic flow. When you expect to have so many people attend Jumma prayer you should think it intelligently. People who have been assigned to control the traffic on parking deck does not use their common sense to control the traffic flow. People who took time OFF to attend Juma prayer does not have luxury to stuck in the traffic for long time just because there is no system put in place to make easy in and out from parking deck. Hopefully someone from the management will read this post and do something about it, I hope. read more

On a business trip to Atlanta and found this to be "The" Masjid" in Atlanta. A full-fledge Masjid with places for Wudu, plenty of parking in the back, clean bathrooms, and clean carpets (no, it doesn't smell like cheesy toes). Probably THE second most beautiful masjid I've been to in the states (Diyanet in Maryland is 1st) There's an African American brother who polices the masjid and told me to "please take off ya shoes Akee" (forgot to take off my shoes) I chuckled few seconds later but felt right at home! read more

If you want to experience tranquility, this is the place. Awesome ! Beautiful addition to the midtown/atlantic station skyline, the mosque recently completed it's 9 year, $3.8 million expansion project. The new area includes a prayer area that easily holds 250-300 people, a new library, and facilities for youth activities such as soccer. The Masjid can frequently be seen on CNN and local news stations when reporters are looking for local Muslim reactions to national and international events. It has one of the largest education programs in the United States in Qur'an and Hadith, and beginning levels of Islamic instruction, especially law. To the east of the Masjid, behind a wooden fence, is a Halal market and Islamic bookstore. The selection of the bookstore is quite good and has become a place of discussion for Muslims interested in various aspects of piety and life. The grade school is situated behind the Masjid and is quite large. The school building is one story (and a basement) and is divided into classrooms situated on either side of a lone hallway. The classrooms are spacious and there is a prayer area in each room which is usually situated toward the front of the class. The Dar ul-Uloom school is situated on Masjid property well away from the main complex of buildings. It is housed in an old two-story red brick church. From their center profile: "Attendees are about 30% South Asian, 24-30% Arab, 10-20% African American (sometimes as high as 30%), and the remaining are made up of Whites, Hispanics, Africans (sometimes as high as 10%), Indonesians and Malays, a growing number of Bosnians and Kosovars, Central Asians, and a very few Iranians." read more

When I moved a block away from this masjid, I was so excited to attend Jummah and have such a large Islamic center close by.... However, it's turned out to be a disappointment. Most of the sheikhs delivering the khutbah talk about mundane topics and sometimes even have such a heavy accent that it is a struggle to comprehend what they are saying. In addition, the imam talks at about 100 mph and offers no translation. There's a video translation in sign language available, but no English? The worst thing in my opinion, however, is that they continue to sell food right outside DURING Jummah prayer! Has none of the management (or vendors) ever read surah Al-Jummah?? Aside from the architectural beauty, I feel this masjid has little to offer for spiritual growth. My advice: this can be a great place for solitary prayer, reflection, and reading, but for Jummah, I've gotten more from the tiny masjids in Alpharetta. read more

To me this is THE Masjid in the State of Georgia that you want to come to on a regular basis not only to attend five prayers daily, 7 days a week, rain or shine (30 minutes prior to the first prayer to up to 30 mins. after the last prayer) but if you really, really want to know the deep study about the TRUE ISLAM & what all of the major religions have in common, without either a political or threatening environment, IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to attend the weekly Sunday classes from 10: 30am to noon. All ages and religions are "SINCERELY" welcomed! I've been attending these Sunday classes for 5 years and every week I learned something new about God that I did not know before that I find ABSOLUTELY FASCINATING! Additionally, this particular Masjid is building a fabulous sports center available for youth and adult alike, as well as planned outreach to the general non-Muslim community. The sport center will have an impressive 3 floors being built based on both business and every day donations from both the Muslim and non-muslim community! Not many Masjid's across the country will have the uniqueness of this Masjid's sports center for Women/Girls and Men/Boys. It's hard to wait, until the doors are finally open! I was a student at GA Tech from 1987-1993. When I first visited this mosque in 1987, it comprised just a small hall that we had to reach through stairs. But now when my son is a GA Tech student and I visited Atlanta, I was flabbergasted to see the elegance, grace, dignity and size of the mosque, though it was graceful in 1987 too, Masha Allah. The mosque presents an excellent and serene atmosphere and I love it and adore it. I particularly love to break my fast in this elegant mosque with Muslim brothers and sisters who are very friendly and well mannered Masha Allah. read more
