I got a free mouse pad (if you make $30 purchase or more) and also 15% off (if you spend more than $40). Really liked the English-translated books by Korean authors. Selections are ones that you don't normally see in average bookstores. I was able to get two books from my wishlist. Staff has always been calm and pleasant. She even asked if I had parking to validate which we were able to get 4 hours which is honestly plenty of time. This place is a great bookstore!!! Very clean and relaxing! Joseph was very nice and friendly staff! He needs a raise! Haha A lot of variety of books and they also have anime and kpop merchandise! Located on the top floor of Madang Plaza, they have a great selection of used books, mostly in Korean with just a few books in English. If you're after books in English, you probably won't find what you need. However, I went in with a mission for a particular book in Korean - and they had it! Woohoo! Prices are reasonable to boot. Staff was pleasant and helpful! The shop itself was clean, well-organized with a bunch of books (including Children's materials), but also movies and music in Korean (hellllo drunken tiger old school cd lol) and some cute gift items. I haven't tried selling items here, but that is another thing Aladin does. Great experiences the few times I've popped in and I'll continue to patronize them! read more

My mom was visiting and wanted to get some Korean children's books and after going to some other options that were ok I did a quick Yelp search. I found Aladdin in Ktown, near the H-mart, which is sounds like the Koreanest thing that ever Koreaned. I figured that Aladdin would be more of what my mom was looking for, finding some old school stories in a dusty old space that's run by a slightly grumpy old Korean man with a heart of gold. Instead what I got was a really large, brightly lit space filled with a bunch of books, both English and Korean and had to be dragged out of there by my mom, whom I had brought there. I don't know if you're a bookworm like I was in high school but there when I used to walk into a library or a bookstore I'd get this sense of serene excitement, like I was excited to learn. Aladdin reignited that sense for me, in seeing all these books reawakened that sense of wonder I had wandering down aisles and seeing what books were available, and more importantly, that book weren't just being thrown out in some recycling pile or at dump somewhere but were loved by someone then given a chance for someone else to discover, read and love the book. It's a Cave of Wonders. read more

I went to the plaza to get somi somi and discovered this great bookstore. It's a used bookstore but I didn't believe it when I first entered the store. It looked like a store for new books because the store is so clean, organized, and well labeled. I actually had to pick up a book and check the prices to convince myself that it's actually a used bookstore. It also had an entire shelf labeled "newbery award books". As a parent wanting my kids to read quality literature, this shelf saved me so much time! At $2-$4 a book, it was a no brainer for me to pick up 8 books from this shelf. From the awesome Hemingway tshirt the owner wore to the beautiful paper bag for my books, this is a store that exudes love and respect for books. Highly recommend! read more

A quiet, clean facility that equally emulates a reading vibe! The books here are all "used", but many appear brand new or are in excellent condition. The prices range from 4-10 dollars depending on the book and its quality. There's a great selection of less-known, more obscure authors (esp. in the poetry section) and it warms my heart to see such a unique variety! read more

The used album are fairly priced and was able to find some older kpop albums from EXO and beast. The workers are nice and helpful to see if any of the used albums had photos cards. They also have new kpop albums too. read more

Another nice visit at Aladdin's! The store is big, clean, airy, calm and nice to browse. This time around I checked out the English language books, they have a bigger selection than my last visit, all very well organized. A smaller DVD selection, but my husband managed to find some, anyways. It's hard to tell they sell used books and movies in here since the place is so clean and well organized, but that's a plus! Prices are decent, customer service is very good, people working here are nice and attentive. Also, they have cool shopping bags (we got an extra one since the gentleman behind the counter was that nice) with Camus or Hemingway on. I'd try to find something to get in here just to snag one of those cool lit. inspired shopping bags! read more

Whenever we come to Madang Mall we make this a stop...my children love stopping by for some reason! They have a pretty good selection although I haven't bought books here for a while and my last few times I just bought random knickknacks at the front of the store...notebooks bags pencils and today we bought a sling bag I like the literary themed accessories My only gripe is that I feel like the books can be a tad bit cheaper ‍ But still cheaper than buying new! This book store is amazing! They have a computer system so you can search for specific books. I have never seen that at a used bookstore before. Their selection is phenomenal, and I have found many favorites! I don't speak Korean, but they have a large English section, including a great children section. read more

Definitely was nice to walk into a bookstore, especially a nice used one. I went to the English section, which was located in the back of the store. They had numerous topics ranging from kids books to young adult books and religion books to business books. They also have some bags, coloring books, and book-themed items located by the cashier. I walked away with a Christian Book by one of my favorite authors, C.S. Lewis, and would love to come back again whenever we visit the H-Mart again. read more

Aladdin books is located on the very top floor and has the best collection of books, magazines and comics. I always check out their children's books for my kids and I love the variety of prices/options that are available. You can buy both used and new books, which is great when you're not looking to spend too much or if you're looking for a nice new gift. Aladdin allows you to resell your books here as well, so if you've got a bunch of old books bring them in! I personally can't go in there without leaving with a huge stack of new books for my kids. read more

Heard about this bookstore from a friend, so decided to stop by. I am so glad I did! There are used and new Korean and English books and CDs, mostly used. All the used books and CDs are in good condition, and fairly priced. There may be DVDs too that i may have missed. Loved the great selections. You can also resell your books here. It seems like they have a fair way of pricing the books they want to buy from you by using their computerized system. So glad I checked this place out. Aladdin is basically the Korean Kinokuniya bookstore, except it's all used books and they don't have a super large gift section. I've never seen any hybrid Korean/English bookstore before so this was quite an experience. Some of the English books are a bit overpriced but the section I liked the most was the manga in Korean. They have some popular titles like Bleach and Chobits. It's nice if you are trying to learn Korean like I am. The manga was so cheap, about $2-$5 for each book. There is also a sizable kids picture books too (in Korean). read more

I love book stores, period. I am sad about no more Border's or Barns & Nobles, etc. I don't know much about Aladin Books chains from Korea, though this one is very nice. Whenever I meet my friends at Madang for lunch, I check the Aladin. I bought 2 books yesterday. They were not much cheaper than the new books. Need to kill some time in ktown? Rather than a cafe, I always look forward to go to Aladdin Bookstore! Located on the third floor of Madang Plaza, this is a clean and a large location. There's lots of yummy & trendy snacks and sweets as well in this plaza, and validated parking. It's mostly Korean books but there are several bookcases of English books too! They have a good collection and their copies are clean, and most look brand new. The prices are really cheap because it's used. Because it is a smaller collection than somewhere like Barnes and Nobles, it's a fun place to explore books since most of these are popular books or classics that have been bought and resold. There's also stationery and gifts in the front which is fun too. read more

A very spacious place for bibliophiles! Well, the books here are mostly in Korean so if you are NOT korean then its probably better to go to Barnes & Nobles nearby at the Grove. They DO carry some books in English but selections are pretty low compared to Korean books. They have restrooms in the store and have many tables and benches to sit down and read your books before making a purchase. I always stop by here wheh I am in this Madang Mall. Good place to spend time reading and find good used books for very decent prices. read more

Mostly korean books, some English books, and a decent selection of Kpop albums. If you're in the area and you love bookstores, come on by here. They have korean books and even popular English books that have been translated into English. They have all genres and even children's books. Check out the kpop section too in the middle of the store and up at the front. They have some current albums and a lot of OG groups like Big Bang, Girls Generation, and 2NE1. I tried to find Got7 and BTS but they either didn't have any or the albums did not have photo cards but that's to be expected as this is a used bookstore. Its a used Korean Book store in Ktown Los Angeles, where the CGV theater is located. The sourrounding traffic is hectic and parking is free ONLY to validation in the building. I came to purchase few toddler-kindergarden book for my 4 year old from La Habra... I wish they have another location in OC but..oh well. They have great selection of used books, but with the price of new book..i selected 5 used books for my child and the total came out $62... man it feels like buying a book at barnes and noble! The word PRE OWNED or USED is misused here, since they probably purchase them at fraction of what you are paying. But i had no choice so i came here to dish out my money and hope to find better books else where...where it is reasonably priced! Until then, be cautious what you buy here...OVER PRICED! Only reason i did not give 1 star, is because of their great selection and customer service that is friendly. read more

I came up to LA from Orange County, and as I was killing time before dinner, I came across this bookstore. I didn't realize that it was a Korean bookstore until I actually got closer to the storefront. Although I probably should've known. I was in Koreatown lol... They predominantly sell Korean books. However there is a section in the back with English books. I ended up spending more time here than I had anticipated. The store was super clean. Most of the books are in great condition and are pretty cheap. Some were in practically new condition! The books ranged between $5 to $10 on average. I was able to purchase a book I've been waiting to buy for only $5! I would totally come here again if I'm in the area. read more

Well organized used books and new books from Korea and local customers. They carry english books, but you can't find them with computer system. But it's organized by category or Authors names. What a hidden gem! I came here after getting some sul & beans to browse and maybe find a book my mom liked. The store is like you're stepping into a bookstore in Korea, they've got quite a selection from a bunch of genres, used books, books in English, cute accessories, etc. I was looking for some books on Buddhism and found a small but workable selection, their christian section was much larger. Another large section was for Koreans trying to learn English. I was happy because my mom found a book she liked and my hubs found a used copy of the 7 habits of successful people for $3.50 which was in pretty good condition. Overall, it's in Madang plaza, they've got a good selection if I want to find a Korean book and parking is validated. read more

I LOVE Aladdin bookstore! I've come here many times and each time I find what I need. All the books are in great/like-new condition and the interior of the store is very clean. Almost all the books I found were better prices than competitors (other bookstores and Amazon) and in great condition so I definitely recommend checking this place out. This bookstore is amazing. The English book section has everything from pop culture to marketing and business texts. At first I had my doubts, thinking this was a korean-only book store, but randomly called them since I needed a copy of Mockingjay in a jiffy. They had all sorts of recent books such as the complete Catching Fire and Divergent book series to Malcolm Gladwell to the recent book on Steve Jobs (being made into a movie). The prices were 30 to 50% of what you would pay at Barnes and Nobles. They also buy books back as well. I have bought several books from this store already, please come here if you looking for a title. You will never pay full retail price again. read more
