There is also an albergue here, but it was full. We were able to obtain a two bed, hotel-like room here, complete with a bathroom. The style is quite modern. There is an outdoor/enclosed restaurant on site that served a decent pilgrim meal. There's also a pool where pilgrims can rest their weary feet. I ended up having a great conversation with a fellow student here - a medical student from Spain. This place offered an excellent respite from the grueling walk of the previous days.

My family and I were assigned to one of the house and there was another couple from Portugal there. there's a big living room common space and the kitchen is also share with everyone in the house. He spoke English, which was nice, and gave me very careful directions to several places! He made sure I had a cab early in the morning to the train station too! The rooms and beds were very clean, the blankets were so comfy, there chargers for each bed, and a closet that locked for each person to store your stuff! There was a nice break room, and you can do your laundry for 6 Euros, including the detergent! I would come back here anytime!

Just a few blocks from the Cathedral, a block south of a really interesting restaurant that serves a "menu" (same side of the street as the hostal). A block north of a delicious churros/hot chocolate place (Metate), and many other places to eat and drink on the same street. 2. Price. For where it is located it was by far the most inexpensive place around (don't wait until the last minute as it books up quickly) 3. Cleanliness. Pretty good for the number of people going through there. I saw the cleaning person all day/every day 4. Privacy. Only Albergue I stayed in that had privacy doors so you could block off sections of bunkbeds and convert into a private room. Overall...AWESOME!

Absolutely…read more Located opposite USC (Santiago de Compostela University) and only a 5 minute drive or a 15 minute walk (uphill) to the Old town, staying here is a no brainer. A word of warning though - the car park is VERY tight. But inside the hotel, extremely spacious. The bed wasn't the most comfortable, could probably do with a new mattress, but the bathroom made up for it. Great amenities, super spacious, and well stocked. The breakfast in the mornings, served from 7-10, was superb and featured great quality items. It's a buffet/continental style breakfast, so help yourself to as much as you want. Victor from the front desk looked after us so well, I cannot thank him enough for all of his help. His directions, recommendations, printing out our plane tickets so Ryanair wouldn't charge us an arm and a leg for one at the airport, calling us taxis, among many other helpful things. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. I will most definitely come back here when visiting family in the area.
