The service was great and the restaurant environment was as if going to your grandma's house. There was nothing to complain about. Food came out warm and everyone received there plate at the same time.

Visited 9/11/2022 You won't find a better place to get a tasty meal at an amazingly low cost. This place was a wonderful change and a refreshing place for a bite. It looked a little run down outside but was quite nice and clean inside. Service was friendly and food arrived quickly and nice and hot. The Chips and Salsa was good with a little heat to the Salsa Thai I liked. Prices were extremely inexpensive for todays market. Best prices I've found in a very long time. Food was tasty, hot, and nicely proportioned. The Carna Asada was excellent in the tacos as was The Carnitas Tacos. I will be back to this Oldschool Mexican Restaurant perhaps for a Breakfast. It's worth a Visit.

This place is a patch up shack....not fancy, and not much to look at. BUT, The food However, Is home cooked delicious. Highly recommend if you are driving through.

Decent little Mexican restaurant in the middle of the desert. It's the only sit down restaurant in the area so we decided to check it out. It's very outdated but there is plenty of seating. The menu is very large and is extremely affordable! The first downside was they do not serve margaritas, beer and wine only. After a day off-roading a margarita would of really hit the spot. Even other customers near by ordered a margarita too and received the disappointing news that they don't have them. That would really make this place thrive. We were immediate brought over complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was very spicy, a little too spicy to be their house salsa. The guacamole was also disappointing, it was very bland and tasted like guacamole you could get at Walmart. Other that that our main entrees were very delicious. The cheese enchilada I had was probably one of the best I've ever had, I thought it was incredible and tasted very authentic. Everyone else at the table also throughly enjoyed their meals. Service was very slow. We had to ask for napkins and silverware AFTER we got our food. Overall this is the only sit down restaurant in the area, entrees were great. Everything else was to be left desired.

The food was ok. My guy loved his beef taquitos but the rice kind of burnt. I got the baja asada fries and the cut of beef that they used was so chewy that I left most of it. The beer selection that they have is awesome though. If I were to go back, I'd try something else for sure. The popusas looked decent.

Great service, great flautas, best pupusas I've ever had! The place was very clean and the people there were wonderful!

Very good food. I had a small Carmen Special, which was carne asada and cheese over chips. I substituted pico de Gallo for jalepenos and loved it. My husband had menudo, which came in a big bowl. He got a dish of lemon, cilantro and chopped onions, which I used on my "taco salad." We have been here before and have always enjoyed the food. Good service too. They have both inside and outside dining.

Great place!! Lots of parking for RV and trailers! Great food and children friendly. Lots of menus choices and reasonable prices! Patio dinning. Great stop on way to or from Glamis!

Stopped in out of the blue for a beer and taco. Ice cold beer and excellent Al Pastor tacos! Hidden gem....

The burrito supreme was really good. Tortilla wrap for the burrito was slightly heated and all the ingredients tasted fresh.

Off a dark desert highway (CA-86 to be specific), hot wind in my hair, warm smell of tortillas…read morerises up through the air... On a scorchingly hot summer Saturday, we found ourselves meandering through the Anza desert south of Palm Springs. There is nothing out here, folks, except the barren desolation of an abandoned dream that is the Salton Sea. Nestled among the forsaken blocks of a residential community that never came to be is Las Tias Mexican Food. A little slice of culinary heaven in the midst of blight, it is worth every hour of the drive to get there from wherever you are. This is the place that earns you your legit "hipster dining" credential and provides anecdotes to drop at that next gallery opening or trendy gala. A pop-up style restaurant in the garage of the proprietors, Las Tias is authentic enough to be two hundred miles south. These ladies are making it all from scratch, right down to the homemade masa and hand-pressed tortillas. We watched them prep fresh veg and meats, including pollo, carne asada, al pastor, cabeza, birria, and more. Even beyond the tacos, the menu is substantial and everything we tried was delectable. The portions are generous, to say the least, and their simple salsas are flavorsome. Any doubt we might have had about this random little spot was completely alleviated by the steady flow of carry-out customers the entire time we were there. We chose to eat in, which meant sitting at one of the two tables set up under an event-sized tent outfitted complete with misters and fans. After a day of hiking in the hundred-plus degree weather, we were delighted to come across this little oasis. Load up the gang, road trip through the desert, and get yourself some tasty grub and an experience you'll talk about for years!
