That said, I give the Diamond Willow 5 stars because it is by far the best hotel in Delta Junction, and it's actually a pretty decent place. The Diamond Willow Inn opened its doors to travelers in late 2011. Read April Q's review for the lodging options. I stayed in the hotel, which is basically a standard hotel that something akin to the Holiday Inn Express. Nice, inexpensive, clean, and well managed. It has a small kitchenette with microwave, coffee maker, mini refrigerator/freezer and sink. They stock with some basics - coffee, sugar, spoons. Rooms are new and comfortable; they have a queen bed, plush recliner, desk, and small dining table. Large screen TV, self-controlled heat, nice plush carpet, and free high speed wireless internet (decently fast). Two drawbacks: 1. The interior walls and doors are not well insulated, so you can hear people in the hallway or in other rooms. Note that outside walls and windows are great so you'll stay warm! 2. Over the course of the last 3 nights here, housekeeping has come to my room only once. They did a nice job cleaning when they did come. Note that the owner (Gordon) or his wife will be happy to give you anything you need, or replace you towels upon request. A potentially useful note: 1. The location is listed wrong on some websites. The hotel is located on the Alaska Highway just east of the fork in the center of Delta Junction. The driveway entrance is on the right (if you're heading east) just after Bear Ave. The log cabins are located at the intersection of Bear Ave and Tanana Ave. My advice is to use Google Street View before you arrive.

These places are designed to be homes away from home. Comes with a stacked washer and dryer, full kitchen set-up, living room, two bedroom separated by wall, and a deck in the front. The owners, Sherry and Gordie, are very accommadating and affable. Currently they are building a really nice lodge that will have 30+ rooms when complete. It is supposed to be beautiful with all the fixings! If you ever need a place to stay in Delta, this is the place to do it at!

Check-in was easy with a very kind lady that had just finished baking cookies on display in lobby. Our small basic room was warm on arrival, comfortable, clean, and perfect for our one night stay. We had a beer and dinner across the street which was convenient. Hot breakfast options in lobby are excellent, no need to go anywhere else and the Rhubarb bread was delicious and only one of many other tasty pastry choices. We would not hesitate to stay again when we visit 2 of our best friends in Delta!
