This lounge is gorgeous and offers a lot of amenities. If you have a Priority Pass you can gain access for an additional $15. The check in is quick and the staff was very helpful in giving us a rundown of the lay out of the lounge. Food was great. They had a salad bar and also some hot options. There were 2 options of soup, pulled pork, black forbidden rice, and veggies. Flavor wise, everything was delicious. There's also a pancake machine available the whole day and desserts. There is a separate bar area offering some complimentary drinks and also the option for upgraded "premium" spirits. As well as a coffee bar area with a barista available to make lattes, cappuccinos and more. There is a lot of seating area, and it's spaced out so you're not crowded in one area. Alaska Airlines Lounge -- SFO Terminal 1 Red-eye out of Honolulu. Three hours to kill before the next flight. Walking off a plane at that hour, you are not looking for much, just somewhere quiet to land. The Alaska Lounge was right across from our gate. First time in, and the staff made it feel like they were glad we showed up. Friendly, genuine, no airport-zombie energy. The space is impressive. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the tarmac and the hillside, plenty of natural light, and seating for every mood: work tables, soft chairs, window loungers, even a private booth if you need to take a call. I planted myself at a window seat and didn't move. The bar is well-stocked. What stood out was having an actual barista on-site. Oat milk latte and a bowl of steel cut oatmeal, exactly what I needed at that hour. One honest note: the food selection was thin and several items needed restocking when we came through. The staff were apologetic and moved quickly, which matters. But the variety just wasn't there. Solid lounge. Good people. Great space. I have no complaints with this lounge. You get access with priority pass plus an extra $15 charge. It was an easy check in process and the staff was very nice and welcoming. The food is good and pretty varied - I had some Thai coconut soup, chicken thighs, mashed potatoes, and pancakes from the fun pancake machine. Halfway through my visit, they brought out some gildas & spanakopita. They're also stocked with treats like Ghirardelli chocolates, cookies, and more along with snacks. They have a freestyle Coca Cola machine but when I was there they were out of any diet options. I opted for an unsweetened iced tea. The bar area is beautiful and signature cocktails, house wines, and beer are included. There is an up charge for "premium" spirits, wine and beer. Overall this was a great lounge experience - plenty of seating, easy entry, good food, and good drink options. Well worth the $15 up charge for Priority Pass and I'd definitely return. read more

I feel like I've been spending so much time at airports during the last couple of years, so I was glad to finally find a pretty good lounge at SFO. Ok so this is really more like a 4 star, but out of the many lounges in SFO, which are mostly a disappointment, this one stands out as one of the better ones. If you've been into the airport lounges in Asia, you know what I'm talking about. This is definitely NOT in that league, but again, one of the better lounges at SFO. FYI - One of the worst lounge SFO has got to be The Club, which is very close to the Alaska Lounge. Located inside Terminal 1, this lounge is very clean, modern and well designed. Staff is also very nice. Food is good. Not over the top good, but better than many of the other lounges at SFO. They do have that pancake machine where you make your own pancakes. You just pour in the batter and it does the rest. It's not the flimsy and dangerous kind you find at cheap hotels and other lounges where the pancake batter can overflow and you have to flip the machine to turn the pancakes over. I really like that it's never really too crowded and seating is decently spaced. This is one of the few lounges I actually look forward to spending time in at SFO. read more

This was my first time visiting this lounge. I entered on a Wednesday at 2:15pm. It's located right next to, The Club lounge. I got access by flying business on Qatar Airlines. Thank gawd they no longer use Golden Gate Lounge. IYKYK. Upon entering you can tell it's new. It's huge and there is so much seating area. I also like the different seating options too. It was only about 10% full. Staffs were friendly. They have a barista and they made me a pumpkin spice latte. They serve coffee by Ritual. For lunch they had a DIY loco moco station, offering rice, beef patty, gravy and egg. It was not bad at all. They also offered a salad bar, apples and oranges, some candy and baked sweets, ginger carrot soup and chicken rice soup, bread, a coffee machine with flavored syrups - vanilla, hazelnut and caramel, soda machine and a pancake printing machine. It prints 2 at a time and it was a hoot to watch it being made. At the end of the lounge is the bar area. Really nice. They offer both complimentary (wines and house cocktails) and non complimentary drinks, like beer. Their seasonal cocktail was an AperolRita. You can only get drinks for yourself. Came here on a Friday night around 8pm ish, used my Amex platinum airline incidental credit to get a day pass into here. It was pretty empty with no line to get in. $65 for a day pass. Pros: - Tasty Korean themed hot bar food, including kimchi fried rice, beef egg rolls. Also had a salad bar, not bad. - Really nice clean bathrooms - pretty huge! Lots of seating choices with recliners, tables for eating, couches, etc. - Soda machine! - Charging stations at lots of the booths. - grab and go wrapped apples, unlimited biscoff cookies - staff were all professional and kind - super clean - Very quiet, a great option for if you want to get away from the priority pass crowd - While I was there it was super empty, which is kind of the way I like my lounges if possible haha - Super convenient location if you're flying on Alaska out of SFO Cons: - I think on the Friday night, the food options were a little more limited and not as curated/tasteful as other lounges, especially with the pricey $65 day pass entry. I didn't love the tiramisu dessert and all the food kind of tasted like mass produced hotel food. However, I think that the quiet space and really nice aesthetic more than makes up for it. read more

San Francisco, Harvey Milk Terminal 1. August 2025. This lounge is a no brainer if you're traveling SFO-HNL. The new Harvey Milk Terminal 1 opened last year and the terminal itself is fabulous compared to Terminals 2 & 3. This 11,000 square ft lounge was also renovated and it is a welcome oasis. You'll find this place across gate B6 and the Amy's Drive Thru concession. After you enter, take the stairs or elevator to the 3rd level and you'll see the check in desk. The lounge is long and narrow. Turn right into an area with room for kids to roam, or choose one off the nice chaise lounger style chairs facing the tarmac. Turn left for the coffee barista bar, the food line, restrooms, and the bar all the way at the back. Everywhere you go there is a variety of solo seating or standing counters facing out to the tarmac. The barista bar serves Ritual Coffee, an independent, woman owned company in the area. You'll get a complementary crafted coffee drink as good as the Ritual Coffee stand downstairs in the terminal. The bar area is peaceful - no children allowed. The bench seating along the backside is comfortable and the bar itself allows you to plug in while you enjoy local beers on tap or west coast wines. The best part of an Alaska Lounge is the sincere courtesy and friendliness. This San Francisco Alaska Lounge is as good as Los Angeles or Seattle. read more

Exceeded expectations! This was a really nice lounge in SFO. There was no line to wait in at all to get in. You take an elevator one floor up to check-in. There's a quiet area on one side and then the food and drink section, which is kind of like a very long corridor that goes all the way back where their bar is. The lounge is very clean with plenty of seating and outlets. There's a full service coffee bar made to order as well as a self service one. There isn't a huge selection of food, but what they had was actually good. Drinks were well made and quick. Would definitely come here again! read more

Overall: A // 5 stars PANCAKE PRINTER. The Alaska Lounge has a PANCAKE PRINTER. If this doesn't excite u, idk what will. I really enjoy the cute theme going on here, featuring Alaska themed fortune cookies, jelly beans, and other small touches that help make the lounge feel more specialized. They have the usual buffet selection, and what I enjoy is the in-house barista and the full service cocktail bar included. The lounge space is massive, featuring numerous other amenities from private phone booths to egg chairs with flight views. Compated to other airlines, Alaska is a bit more generous, offering lounge access to those flying domestic first as long as the flight is 2000 miles, rather than being in a specifically ticketed trademarked cabin. They also offer access to those with a paid subscription, or through One World partner reciprocal benefits. Unlike the Admiral's club at SFO, there is a much more visibly clear benefit why someone would want to subscribe to this more niche offering than a more general purpose travel card. Overall, fun lounge that brings out the inner child, would recommend. Dropped by here a few times after Alaska moved to Terminal 1 and gotta say that the move and remodel is awesome with all the dark wood! It's more of a long hallway with a bunch of seating, yet still feels very spacious, and there's also some single booths with tables near the coffee bar, which are optimally placed to maximum space imo. The coffee bar has baristas making handcrafted drinks (espresso, chai latte, etc.) and are always friendly. Each time there hasn't been a queue for drinks, so they're pretty efficient. My partner had their cocktail drink here the last time we dropped in (forgot which one) and said it was his favorite out of the 3 lounges we visited before our JAL afternoon flight. No doubt this AS lounge was the least busy compared to say, Cathay (CX) and British Air (BA) if you're looking for some space and not a full meal. A really new strong offering from Alaska! While not quite the flagship that their N Gate lounge remains, it's mostly certainly the best of the rest! Immediately upon entry any frequent Alaska Airlines traveler will recognize the aesthetics: this is clearly a space designed in the wake of the modern taste exmeplified by Alaska's flagship N gate lounge, that ode to all things PWN. While this lounge isn't quite as wide and deep as that one, it is long and well appointed with enough seats to handle big crowds; there must be at least 2X the seating of the previous Terminal 2 lounge, if not more. There is ample good seating, booths, lounge chairs, and power outlets - it really feels very, very well considered. A special note must be given to the bar which is easily the best designed one I've ever seen at a domestic airline lounge even if the booze selection is a bit meager. What's not to love? Even though obvious effort went into the design of the space almost none went into the food and drink selection. What you get here is what you'll get at every other Alaska lounge: it's simple, it's small, and ultimately not really a meal. I really wish Alaska would redirect some of their budget to expanding their food selection for their lounges so they can truly elevate themselves beyond the likes of their cruddy domestic competitors. This being said, if you have the choice between lounges for Alaska, American, United, etc., pick Alaska every time. Overall, this is a great new addition to the equally great new Terminal 1 at SFO. A step up from the former Alaska Lounge in terms of: * food selection * beautiful bar * much nicer bathrooms However it's a bit narrow and long. I believe it's bigger and has more available seats but still narrow. Which makes it difficult to move around while keeping sight of your belongings if that matters to you. When you enter to your right is an area of seating. If you go left the first section you walk by is the barista/buffet. There are a few booths there. Further down that walkway past some tables is the bar area. I recently tried out American Admiral Lounge down terminal 1 and Alaska's is much nicer. A few other observations: Alaska is much cleaner. There's always attendants cleaning. Food options are better. And overall ambience is better at Alaska with its much calmer decor. American was too bright and sunny for me. Have yet to try The Club next door to compare but hopefully I'll try it out soon. read more

The Alaska Lounge at SFO in Terminal 1 was the perfect respite from the busy gates. It was probably the least busy AS Lounge that I've been in. The space is very open, as it's a long space, fronting the windows facing the outside. There are so many seating options here. The breakfast was perfect, scrambled eggs, maple sausage and fried rice. Also, all the fixings to make a yogurt with fruit. The made to order coffee station makes all your favorite coffee caffinated beverages. It was unusual to see the bar area so empty. It is wonderfully appointed however--I can see this area being busy during the afternoon and evening hours. The restrooms again are the largest and cleanest I've seen at any lounge. Finally, the attendants are all very professional and friendly. This lounge is the perfect place to relax before being transported to your destination. read more

Now that Alaska Airlines has moved primary operations to Terminal 1, the Harvey Milk Terminal, they have now proudly opened a new Lounge there. The previous lounge in Terminal 2 was familiar, but was certainly had its fair share of issues. The entry can be a bit confusing; you have to go upstairs to check in. The elevators can be a bit slow, so if you only have hand luggage, or don't mind schlepping your bags, the stairs are a good option. This new lounge is large and spacious, and is timed well with Alaska's revised menu which include many more vegetarian options. There are a few other notable upgrades including a few new self-serve espresso machines. If you want alternative milks, there's a traditional espresso machine that a barista can help with. Another notable update is the new beverage machine, which is similar to the modern ones found in other locations. read more

I am writing about the Alaska Lounge, the new one in Terminal 1 (Harvey Milk) at SFO. I had previously reviewed the same facility in its prior location. The new one is an upgrade. Most importantly, it is vast, and any business traveler will have no difficulty finding a spot to work, or a leisure traveler a place to escape from others. A preface. I did not grow up with any privilege. I had no idea about any private clubs, and an airline lounge is only the beginning of that vast world. My parents did not belong to anything exclusive, which we imagined only as depicted in movies. A lifetime ago -- I am literally more than twice the age now -- I saw Bruce Babbitt on a flight. People might not recall who he was, and you would have had to been following politics back in the day: Governor of Arizona, credible contender for President, a member of the Cabinet for eight years. He was relegated to economy class, with his Secret Service detail in tow, and for all I know he took a middle seat. I was impressed. He was a dignitary. That is what I would emulate. But I do not pass up the opportunity to catch a breath before a transcontinental journey/ The Alaska Lounge suits its purpose, There was nothing wrong with the prior iteration. But this one, aside from space, has better seating options, a more thoughtful design (if very long -- I didn't spot the bar, at the very end of the space, until I asked the front desk where it was located), and essentially the same food options. The bar offerings might include more premium choices; I'm not sure. In any event, you can sense the carrier wishes to compete with this perk. The access rules are the same (I took about 50 trips with Alaska last year, and I sprung for the lowest level of membership). So I commend the Alaska Lounge to you. read more
