So we just high tailed it out of a bar outside of the city center and found our way to El Pedal…read more This is a true urban neighborhood bar, very small with big offerings. They make one beer that was on tap (EL Pedal) which was a very good American pale ale. The other 5 beers on tap were a nice assortment (weiss to stout). Very good. Plus, they have 80+ different bottle choices.
The place was tiny inside and had about 5 tables outside but they were full and the inside empty, but I think it was because it was rather warm inside with no a/c but fans. We toughed it out and sat at the bar and when the ex-pat Oklahomian bartender heard our English he took pity on us and guided us through all of our beer and tapas choices. The cheese selection plate was very good, the view to the outside watching Madrid walk by was great and of course the beer was the highlight of our visit.
If you're anywhere near El Pedal, I tell you to stop in and look for the tall ex-pat AMerican who speaks excellent Spanish (and english), he'll fix you up!!!
