You can come here for acupuncture, massage, counseling, hypnotherapy, nutritional advice, beauty therapy, etc. It's also host to the Natural Fertility Centre, which was recommended to me when I was struggling to conceive.
For your initial appointment you meet with their Conception Coach (Dee), who is brilliant. Having worked for the NHS she can help you navigate through their treatments and processes which seem to be as convoluted as possible. Dee provides a lot of practical advice that your GP just isn't likely to even be aware of, and creates a plan of action. For me, that was acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
One of the biggest hurtles with fertility is feeling like you are in a situation over which you have absolutely no control. NHS processes take a *long* time and appointments are short so you don't usually have enough time to chat through what you're going through. The Natural Fertility Centre gave me back a certain feeling of control, helped me to understand my diagnosis and have someone other than Dr Google to rely on for advice in diet and nutrition to help lessen my hormonal imbalance while simultaneously going through a battery of tests with the NHS.
If nothing else, the NFC helped me maintain something of a grip on my sanity, while also helping me to improve my health through it all. My enormous wiggling belly and graceful waddle are a testament to to the fact that I must have done something right. read more
