It is only about a 15 minute bus ride to get to where all the touristy stuff is, but I walked from the Trevi Fountain back and it took me about 45 minutes, just FYI. I stayed in a mixed dorm, and it was pretty clean overall. The bathroom are private ones shared with the dorms, and the shower, toilet, and sink were all clean. I really don't have any complaints about it, except they do have a weird with where Hostelworld tells you that you've already paid the city tax, but after actually calculating it, you don't pay the city tax ahead of time, so pay attention to that to make sure you're getting charged the correct amount!

The staff was very friendly and always had recommendations of places to eat and things to do around the city. The common areas indoor and outdoor were both very spacious. We met some cool travelers from all over the world so it's definitely a good social hostel. They have happy hour everyday from 7-9pm which is unlimited wine (red and white), so definitely take advantage of it, unless you are a wine snob...then don't LOL The city seems big on the map but it's really a walkable city and the hostel isnt far from it all! There is a little restaurant across the street in an alleyway called Sofia which has good american breakfast and 3 course meal combo at night for 15 euros, which includes a drink (alcoholic too). The free breakfast here isn't bad, just a variety of pastries and coffee/tea. We had a kitchen in the apartment with all the other private rooms as well, so a staff member would come over and put fresh pastries in the kitchen for us. Our room got cleaned EVERY DAY but if you don't want that, just let them know.

The Pros: Location: this hotel is centrally located, minutes away from everything. Price: For the location, the price is great. Free breakfast. Our hotel in Florence provided a much better breakfast than Hotel Primavera but this one was OK. They had Cornettis, bread, cereal, cold cuts, cheese, coffee, and juice. It was enough to get us started every day. Our room: It was a decent size. Room was clean. There was free Wi-Fi (finally!) and the water pressure worked great (unlike our stay in Florence). The Cons: Our room: My bed wasn't really a bed, it felt more like a cot. The mattress was super thin and didn't have too much support. The queen size bed had a good mattress, but no the twin sized one. Neighbors: There was 1 night where we woke up in the middle of the night with rowdy guests in the hallway. Luckily, it was a onetime situation. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. The turndown service at night with chocolates was a great touch. The second best thing about the hotel is its location. It's within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. There's lots of restaurants nearby, and a Hard Rock down the block. The only thing I would suggest not doing is ask the concierge for restaurant recommendations, he gave us a real clunker. Outside of that, staying here was a great experience!
