This was the worst representation I have received and could have imagine receiving for the money that I paid. I deserve a full refund for the inadequacies of the attorney that represented me during a protective order hearing against a former boyfriend. James met with me on one occasion in person to discuss case. I tried to offer things that could help my case but James assured me we would not need them. Before the hearing, the opposing attorney tried to get me to drop the case to avoid further litigation. James informed me of this but could not properly tell me whether or not he thought we could win the case. In addition, James accepted a paper agreement deal with conditions spoken at the hearing dismissal. I later found that the conditions he said the other party agreed to were not legally binding. Mr. McGuinn failed to inform me of that. Furthermore, when I asked him about the conditions via email, he failed to respond to my questions. I paid him $2500 for approximately 4 hours of ill-advised representation. I will never use this office again. read more

Ross was a wonderful attorney to hire. I am a PA driver who was arrested for my first drunk driving this early April. It is a terrifying experience, so it is best to have someone who knows what they're doing and who can make you calm and comfortable throughout the entire process, and Ross does that!! I was being charged with DUI, DWI, DWI per se, and negligent driving. This happened to me in Maryland...which was very stressful and inconvenient because I work in Maryland, but live in PA and was not sure how suspension of my license was going to affect my ability to get to and from work. During the in-person (FREE) consultation, Ross was accommodating in meeting with me at 6:30pm on a weekday after getting out of work and sat with me going through the whole process of what each charge means and how the process works (whether I do it on my own or hire him). Ross was very easy to talk to, and makes sure the experience is calm and comfortable. He was always upfront and honest with me, so for all those reasons, I chose to hire him. That and because he is very experienced. Ross knows his stuff and he will walk you through everything and allow you to explore all your options. He will be straightforward with you from the getgo and tell you what steps you need to take in order to have some better results for your case. Once given all the facts and who will be the presiding judge, Ross can explain step by step (in his professional experience...which should not be taken for granted) what he thinks the outcomes will be in both the best and worst case scenario. Having Ross at my side also helped me with my MVA hearing. I was facing 45day suspension of my driving privilege in MD, but with Ross at my side and speaking on my behalf, I was able to leave the hearing with the suspension in-tact, but modified so that I could easily travel to and from work. When I got to district court, Ross was able to have me leaving the court room with a PBJ, needing to attend a MADD class, no longer needed to finish the 11 remaining alcohol education classes of the original 26 classes that was proposed, and I was able to receive unsupervised probation for a year. All in all, Ross is a wonderful lawyer to have at your side. He is very knowledgeable, he helps you through this difficult process, and makes you feel calm and aware of all your options and rights. I have dealt with Ross Albers in a professional capacity, not as a client of his. I am a Chiropractor that treats auto accident and other personal injury patients in downtown Baltimore and he is a lawyer that represents many of these injured clients. He is a tireless advocate on behalf of his patients. Many law groups assign personal injury and car accident cases to paralegals to process their claims, where the injured clients only meet with the "head honcho" once their case is ready to be settled. Mr. Albers is a hands on representative from the first phone call on. He makes sure to talk to his clients, answer their questions, and set them up for treatment. (And in the interest of full disclosure he works with several other chiropractors, PTs and medical professionals in addition to myself, depending on where his clients live). He also has a great understanding of the inner workings of personal injury/auto accident claims, which helps him decide when it makes sense to settle a claim quickly or whether it makes sense to file suit and go to court. He is one of the few lawyers I've worked with that makes his decisions based on the best interest of his clients, and not just his legal fees. From what I understand he also handles DUI cases and criminal defense cases. However, I can not speak to these areas of his practice since I do not know him in that capacity. The bottom line to this review is if you are injured in Maryland (whether its Baltimore City or Westminster, or anywhere, really) and want a fighter on your side to protect your rights, consider giving Mr. Albers a call. If, on the other hand, you want to be passed down a phone tree to speak to an assistant who will treat you like a number, by all means shop around. read more
