I really enjoyed my experience with all the staff at Dr. Lee's office. After calling every optometrist in Santa Rosa and being told that there was no openings until the end of next month, I called Target Optical (which I didn't even know existed) and got an appointment that same day. I absolutely LOVE Dr. Lee! Over the past 3 years, I have seen 5 different eye doctors in Santa Rosa alone. In addition to my regular exams, I've been having issues with one of my eyes being red and irritated pretty frequently. One doctor told me that I had Blepharitis by handing me a pamphlet, but the issue continued and I felt like I was no closer to understanding what was going on. Dr. Lee not only figured out what was causing my redness, but he explained to me in detail about my Blepharitis, the newly discovered issue, and every single test he performed. I left his office feeling enlightened - I never knew so much about my eyes! I'm so grateful that he took the time to talk me through everything and to finally have some answers. Dr Lee is probably the best optometrist I've ever had. He is friendly, enthusiastic, and extremely knowledgeable. It's weird that the office is in the target at coddington mall, but honestly it doesn't matter. The staff are also super friendly and got me a very quickly appointment when I needed one. read more

Great service. I have had many eye examinations over the 70 years I have been wearing glasses. Dr. Lee's eye examination today was the most professional and thorough I have experienced. I highly recommend Dr Lee and the Target Optical office in general. I called this morning and lucked out with an afternoon appointment. I had an eye exam and was fitted for a (first time) contact prescription. Dr Lee was prompt, friendly, knowledgable and very efficient! One hour and $130 later I left wearing my contacts! (From what I understood, the exam was $65 and the training/contacts were another $65. I have an astigmatism, which adds a few bucks. They do take insurance, I just don't have vision covered.) They scheduled a follow up for a couple of weeks from now to see if I'll be going with daily or 2 week lenses. Can't wait!! read more

Dr. Lee is the Managing Optometrist for Eyexam of California, Inc. which is located inside the Lenscrafters on Pine and Battery. I went in for my yearly eye exam and was lucky to have Dr. Lee who was a very competent optometrist. Dr. Lee was very friendly and thorough in his examination. He answered all my questions and explained carefully every step of the examination. I ended up learning quite a bit about optic nerves. Dr. Lee is awesome! He is TOTALLY thorough in his exam and happily explains/answers all and any of your (possibly annoying?) questions. Very thorough, takes the time that is needed to make a complete evaluation. And a most impressive thing about him is that he is very energetic, very very positive in his orientation, regardless of how many people he has seen that day or how many times he has been asked the same ol' questions. Dr. Lee gets a solid five star rating from me. After three tries, and several hundreds of dollars at another optometrist, I still did not have a prescription that was working. I have difficult eyes, with RK and LK done on both in the last 30 years. Dr. Lee corrected my prescription perfectly and my new glasses are wonderful. The previous prescription had the astigmatism number the complete opposite of what I actually need. Now my glasses no longer make me feel like I'm underwater. Whereas the previous doctor and office nurse advised me to "wear these new glasses for a week to adjust" (I never did adjust to them), Dr. Lee's new prescription was perfect within seconds of putting the glasses on. Can't say enough good things about this extremely pleasant, highly knowledgeable man. read more

Dr. Lee saved me HUNDREDS of dollars and was super pleasant and funny and professional throughout. Recap: I was calling eye drs because of a bump from a stye that had not gone away. I had called several, and all demanded that I get a full eye exam ($300 average) before any analysis of the bump, with suggestions of price for the removal of the bump anywhere from $500 to $1000, with very little clarity on what would affect the price. My vision is not a problem, and the bump has not affected it -- I could not believe all of these Drs demanded the full exam and high payment that goes along with it BEFORE they even looked at the bump. (Seriously, if you went to your GP with an ingrown toe nail, and they gave you a head to toe general physical and charged you for it, wouldn't you slaughter them on yelp?) Dr. Lee listened to my issues, and then talked me through better care for my eye bump, so that it might just go away. He told me to call him back if his plan of action did not work, and then he would refer me to an ophthalmologist and I would not have to pay for the exam. True to his word, when I called him back, we discussed the situation and he referred me to a Dr. in SF who tells me he can do my "bumpectomy" without the unnecessary eye exam and gave me a much clearer range of possible prices (depending on what he finds). Awesome to find a Dr. who actually listens to what you say and need and who will work with you. read more

I saw Dr. Lee on New Year's Eve. I scheduled an appointment ahead of time and did not have to wait at all. Dr. Lee was very warm and friendly. He explained everything he did as we went and explained why it was important. He taught as he talked, which I love, and did so in a manner that would make you think you were chatting with a friend. I was impressed with his equipment, including that which he used to check my peripheral vision. I was in and out quickly but felt like everything was covered. He was very thorough. The staff at Target optical were very helpful in helping me pick frames that fit my face. Dr. lee even got in on the discussion and his input sealed the deal in finally picking my frames. I, like many others, was surprised to find such a gem at Target optical. Dr. Lee is very thorough and takes the time to explain why things are like they are and shows you how to treat eye problems. I went to another eye doctor and she told me to put a hot compress on my eye. But Dr. Lee explained why I needed to put a hot compress on my eye, how to do it in away that gently heats my eye, what the benefits are and what results to expect. He is also very on point when it comes to making sure I had the exact right prescription for my glasses. In an age where patients are often treated like cattle, Dr. Lee takes the necessary time to make you feel good about getting an eye exam. I highly recommend him. read more
