When I first moved to Granite Hills in 2022 I thought this Albertsons was a gem. Small but friendly staff and well stocked with a great variety of items. Now in 2026 my husband and I only go there if we just need a couple of things. Why? Now the staff except for a couple of the original ones seem very unhappy with their jobs. I feel like I have to work to get them to be pleasant. There are a few that still seem happy to be there at work. About 35%. Friendly. The other problem is some of the floor staff seem very irritated when I am trying to shop and they are stocking and they are blocking aisles...not me. The wonderful selection of brands they use to carry is now turning into "Signature" everything. I like traditional brands on a lot of things. My Major big shopping is now going elsewhere. There are a few nice employees there still but there is definitely an unhappy vibe going on. I worked with the public for over 35 years and my job was to make people feel like coming back to shop. Deli Department has the most rude older white/grey long hair lady and a stocky short older white man, OMG, I'm not sure if this was a racial issue or just really bad customer service of older employees. By that I mean on the floor making sure shelves are well stocked. and by well stocked I mean the items being pulled forward when front items are not within REACH. So many times on upper shelves I can't reach them. There is rarely anyone working the floor area to ask for help. There always seems to be an actual employee in the floral department, unlike other stores and she's very helpful and friendly. The store itself is pretty old and it's set up a little weird, but I can usually find everything. The employees are usually nice, especially in the deli. I actually prefer the deli here to the La Mesa store, it's better stocked and I never have to wait more than a minute or two for service. The parking lot is a shit show here, definitely pay attention because other drivers won't. I got hit by an old man while walking in the crosswalk. Since it's east county there's no shortage of oversized trucks and SUVs who aren't capable of parking between the lines. I go to the back of the lot to avoid these idiots. As soon as I selected number of bags I used, my amount was adding up with non stop. I couldn't do anything and ended up paying "my back account charged right away". I asked one of employees to help me. Her response was exactly as this "OH! I messed it up, I was scanning items for another person and charged your machine " ! She called someone to help me and she took care of my refund and my two star rating is for that. I also refused to purchase my items and decided to never come back to this store or any Albertsons. We all know you overpriced and your quality is not in the level of your price. But sometimes you don't have any other options especially urgent needs at late times. so we put up with your prices. I was the only customer standing at the deli waiting to order meat and cheeses. Two employees stood talking to each other while I waited for about 5 - 10 minutes. I visited my local Albertson Saturday. I am an older disabled customer with very limited use of my right arm. I had a long list today and the store was very busy.As I was heading out the door a young man by the name of Max approached me to ask if I needed help with my heavier items. I happily welcomed the help but forgot I had to stop at the pharmacy.Max waited with me and was so patient with the pitstop at the pharmacy. He then walked with me to my car and loaded my groceries for me. I was so genuinely surprised by this young man's initiative and helpful attitude. This store is incredibly lucky to have this employee on their team . They honestly could use 10 more just like him. Keep up the great work Max! read more

First and last time I ever order a cake from there! The girl taking my order over charged and when I went to pick up luckily the lady there realized it and fixed it. My cake wasn't what I expected but what can you do day of the event. I specifically asked for fresh strawberries which they charge extra for and I didn't get it. My cupcake order wasn't correct either. When I called the next day to speak to a manger she was out sick I left a message and it's been over 2 weeks haven't heard from her! We've lived by Albertsons and have used them for four years. Today, I'm writing a long overdue review after our visit to the deli. Let me first say some positive things about the store: The staff have always been extremely helpful and kind. The location is convenient since it's the closest grocery store in our area of town. And, they have everything you need in a pinch. Now, the deli experience: The fried chicken has a good flavor and crisp. It was also moist and tender. The price is reasonably cheap too. We ordered the BBQ chicken wings as well and they were dry. I wouldn't recommend the wings. Our two sides were Mac and Cheese and Classic Potato salad. I have a 6 year old and an 8 year old. They both said the Mac and cheese was "okay", but didn't even finish theirs. That should tell you everything you need to know... The potato salad was pretty good, though. It was better than I expected, but nothing to brag about. The CONS: I rarely get in and out of the store quickly. I recommend using self checkout, because the regular lines move very slowly. I don't know if this is due to staff or customers, but the lines are always slow. Furthermore, the price for most stuff is high. I only shop here for small lists due to their price. It's easily one of the more expensive groceries in town that I've been to. So, my recommendation is use them if you want some decent fried chicken and potato salad. Use them if you have a few small items you need to pick up. Use the self checkout. Do NOT do your major family grocery shopping here. It'll cost you! read more

This is my go to Albertsons I always find what I'm looking for. Produce isn't always good looking especially for the price, but everything else I find. If your a regular shopper at Albertsons I highly recommend downloading the app. Right now monopoly is being played and I have got a lot of good deals even free items. The Starbucks inside is good for the most part but when there is a line your waiting forever for your drinks. Bathrooms are normally clean with stocked hand soap, toilet paper, seat covers and paper towels to dry your hands and to open door with. They have a sanitizer pump right when you walk in and most the time have sani wipes to wipe down your cart, however there is someone outside spraying carts down before grabbing one. Over all this store is kept up with being stocked and clean. read more

Drive up pick up here is absolutely horrendous. Expect to wait at least 20 mins. I've done at least four pick ups here now, each with the same result. Not exactly sure why it takes so long but the logistics definitely needs improving. Customers who aren't picking up here are also parking in the curbside spots. I came in looking for some flour tortilla which I found readily and purchased two packs for .99 cents each for a 10 count, given a coupon I had from the Albertson's ad, but oh my, this was one of the most disorganized and messy Albertson's I have visited. Many of the shelves were unorganized and not well stocked, and one the employees near the deli and meat counter was yelling at another of some lights and such. I kinda steered away from that area. We shop at Albertson's once or twice a week. Ever since our Vons went out of business this is the closest store in the same chain. It's a lot larger than our old Vons but also a lot busier. The aisles don't ever seem crowded but there's always a super long line to checkout. It can be quite frustrating at how slow they move (or at least how few workers they have manning the cash register). It's got a very warehouse type feel to it as opposed to an actual store. And it always seems just a little darker than I'd like inside. They do have a Starbucks right there in the store which is pretty neat, but be aware it closes at 8 PM. Most Starbucks are open until 9 or 10, and Albertsons itself is open until midnight, so that's kind of annoying that this one closes way earlier than you'd expect. Otherwise, they've got a good stock of items and their prices are fair, though a little more expensive than Walmart. read more
