I have been a long time Albertsons and Safeway shopper. Over the past few months, I have had multiple occasions where my Albertson's app did not correctly apply digital deals and coupons. Some of the cashiers were helpful, others extremely rude. On a previous shopping trip there was over $50 in savings not applied. The clerk at the service counter assisted me, but it should not fall on her (or my) shoulders to have my grocery bill ring up correctly. This morning I stopped in before work. There was a long line for the only checker (the woman who has been incredibly rude and unhelpful to myself and many other customers) so I decided to do self check. Low and behold, only one of my coupons/digital deals rang up correctly. The woman at the self check tried to assist and showed me MULTIPLE steps that I need to go through so I am not overcharged. Why can't I just clip the coupons and have them work like at Frys? In frustration, I left my entire cart and walked out. I apologize for this, that is not my style. I thought I was sooooo clever writing about this place and being all useful but Max A. already beat me to the punch. Shop here any time of the day or night for groceries and you will be assaulted with the highest concentration on eye candy in the known Phoenix-Metro area. It's better than the Safeway near ASU. It's completely rad. I've never successfully picked up a lady in a grocery store because, frankly, I don't look very wholesome and that's a place where it seems like you need to be to be successful, but if you're a guy in a suit or work out clothes going to or coming from the LA Fitness up the road you might have a chance. OK, this is my neighborhood grocery store, so why does it always look like the casting call for The Young and the Restless? The guys have written about all the hot girls, and they are right, I swear when I was leaving there yesterday a supermodel was walking in. There is also a huge contingency of tragically cute couples, and a lot of hot guys. What is going on here people? Is this store part of some secret reality show that they pack with good looking people? I have a hard time getting through my shopping trip. I am constantly being distracted by the hot dudes! What sucks about this is, I feel like I am a total slob if I have to run up to the store in sweats or any working around the house gear. Also, when I had the flu, and had to sit at the Pharmacy for 20 min looking pathetic after throwing up all night, I really didn't want to run into any hot guys. The funny thing is, I do not see any pick ups going on. I don't think anyone knows how to do that in a grocery store. Maybe everyone is too sober, or maybe they are just more interested in groceries? I went to the store for charcoal and ended up with "free" apples. I have been a year long fan of Sonya apples for their crispness and tart flavor. They were on sale so I bought a little over 3# and expected some savings. While loading my vehicle I noticed I didn't get the sale price. Customer service wasn't open that early and I flagged down the store director listed on the receipt. Jesse was very polite and took care of an immediate total refund with no questions asked. Great Customer Relations! As my Yelper grown kids (H, E & M) know I have always looked for specials and made decisions accordingly. When H, E & M were little they had to select from certain cereals, fruits, vegetables etc. due to specials and/or what I felt was good for them. In retrospect I am not sure this logic worked out the way I had intended. In fact, I was and still am suspicious some of the food either spoiled or was tossed. Number 1: I wish this store were on the north side of Thomas because I find it hard to get in and out of. waaaah. Number 2: I had not read the reviews about hot chicks shopping here before going to Albertson's but clearly that's why i was drawn there...clearly. Has anyone else noticed that the Albertson's parking lot has spaces big enough for Hummers? I saw a Chevy Durango that didn't fill up its space and I had five-foot clearance on either side of my car. That is kind of weird but also really great. Prices are average and the produce looks crisy and fresh. i went in not knowing what i wanted and coming out with a pretty healthy selection. Oh and I have to say that the Albertson's brand Mild salsa sold in the cases on the right in the produce area is actually really spicy. I usually take a Medium heat salsa but this mild is tasty. This store is pretty clean and well organized, and the staff members are always pleasant. However, I have noticed over the last 5-6 weeks that each week there are items missing from my bags when I get home. All of the items I had been charged for and were on the register to be bagged by the attendant. After the first time or two, I thought it was an innocent mistake, however, it is now becoming a significant trend that some items are missing almost every time I get home. I'm not sure if its just a lack of attention to detail or something more nefarious but I recommend watching the cashier like a hawk and bagging your own groceries to ensure you have everything needed to cook when you get home. read more

Went shopping here specifically because they had a couple of meat items on sale that I wanted. Second time trying both times they are out of the sale items. This time talk to the butcher behind the counter and he just shrugged and said if it's not out we don't have it. When I asked about a rain check he said they order but if it sells out it's out. Did get a rain check from the cashier but doubt I will be going back. I will be shopping at my frys and bashas where they know what customer service is and have sale items in stock. Just wanted to mention most of the reviews I do on Yelp are positive. I am NOT just a negative poster bashing everyone. read more

The store policies are named "Joanne". I went to customer service with the receipt from my previous day's transaction. The cashier had rung up two wrong items. Instead of scanning two different flats of water, he typed in the code, apparently from memory, and it rang up two of a different item than either of the two I was purchasing. Joanne asked me the prices of the two items I purchased and the difference came to $1.49. I questioned her about Albertsons policy when items are rung up incorrectly because I thought it was an item under $5 that is incorrectly marked or rung up incorrectly was refunded for the charged amount. She told me it hasn't been Albertson's policy "for years...at least 2 years." When I asked what the new policy is, she looked over the counter and pointed saying, "we used to have it here." I again asked, "since it isn't displayed here now, can you tell me where I can read it, whether it's online on or posted elsewhere but n the store." She replied, "The policy is Joanne. I'm the policy, I'm management." I find this store to be one of the filthiest grocery stores in Scottsdale, they often have people approach you for money in the parking lot or sitting near the entry doors, and now this unprofessionalism on top of rudeness by not even apologizing for their mistake which required me to drive 6 miles there and back to bring to their attention and afford them the opportunity to correct. Unbeatable deals! Last week they had the sirloin angus beef "buy 1, get 3 free"! You can stock your freezer and not worry about grocery shopping for awhile. Same thing for the chicken and other meats. Not comparable to Fry's or Safeway. In general, the quality of products is better and the price, well, is a few cents higher than other stores. read more

If I were reviewing only the employees I would give this store TEN STARS if I could because they are all fantastic, every single one! So helpful and friendly! But I am giving only three because I have become very unhappy with the constant pushing of their "Signature" brand which is their own very mediocre brand. There is less choice now, especially in the frozen food section, and if you buy their Signature broccoli it is sure to be woody. Wow this is funny... Like Julia, this is my neighborhood Albertsons and I totally concur, the best looking shoppers ever. I was simply going to write "Stripper Central" till I read the rest. That being said... THE WORST PARKING LOT EVER (1 star penalty). What is with the huge dip off Thomas Road by Ace, think you can fix that? Definitely rule out heading South on Scottsdale when you are done and good luck even turning right. My favorite parking spot is actually by the barber shop on the South side... enter off Scottsdale between the oil shop and the shopping center. Bonus if you can get a shade spot by Einstein's. This place usually does have killer deals like 2 bottles of Black swan for 9 bucks and king crab legs for as low as $7.99/lb. Now that's exciting. They also have Gonesh incense, one of my faves. Get em back there by the eggs... the number 8 and 12 are the best! Oh and if you are a Bacon fan, get the cuts in the case at the butchery. You will never go back. read more

I have been shopping here since they opened 28 years ago in 1990, and every since they merged with Safeway, I am constantly being over-charged. $4 to $6 each time. The sale prices on the shelf are never in their computer, and I was double-charged for an item. It is starting to seem intentional. Pharmacist is SO FUNNY! He always brightens my day and brings comedic relief to a dull task (picking up prescriptions). I don't do much of my grocery shopping at Albertson's since I try and purchase mostly sustainable foods, but their french bread is DELICIOUS! I could seriously eat a whole loaf in one sitting. The management is accommodating. I did once get hit on and stalked throughout the store by one of their creepy bag people. I think he might have been a little "out there" though, so it was more humorous than anything. read more

This is a nice modern store, clean and well organized. Albertson's prices are good and I'm usually able to find good deals on meat especially chicken. Like some of the other reviews mentioned. If you like some eye candy while shopping there seems to be an abundance at this store. Bonus. read more

Check the expiration dates on EVERYTHING you purchase here. I can't tell you how many things I picked up that were expired. The worst was the Tzatziki in the deli area - they were so long expired, that they were curdled and the plastic lids were expanded so much they were almost popping off. Botulism anyone? Probably the worst grocery store I visit. Unfortunately it's the closest one to my house and forced to go there when I'm in a hurry. Will say the fried chicken and potatoe wedges are the best around I give 5/5 for that. The service at checkout is crazy. They never have enough people working and ALWAYS stand in line for 5-10 mins waiting to check out a gallon of milk. Every other store in the area has atleast one self checkout. This store is stuck in the past and needs to catch up with current technology or hire more cashiers. I dread every time I have to come here. read more

I found Albertson's by accident, but glad that I did. The first thing I noticed was that they have some covered parking, which is definitely nice in an Arizona summer! Then I saw a sign out front saying that masks were required! Very thankful for that, since I am a very high risk person in several categories. I was surprised to see everyone actually wearing a mask... as it should be in this time. I will say, on one occasion, there actually was one guy who not only wasn't wearing a mask but going up the aisle the wrong way. Now personally, I would say that the staff should have stopped him at the entrance as they say they will do. I don't care about your political affiliation. This is an American issue, not a Republican or Democrat issue. Since when do Americans not care for other Americans - especially for the little time you are in the store. I am from the Boston area and lived through the rise of the "Boston Strong" movement after the marathon bombing. I also was supposed to have been on one of the planes on 911, and lost a good friend who took my seat. I saw how people came together for each other, and how that happened on many other occasions, so I don't get this. Oops, sorry, forgot I was writing about Albertson's, but that one guy was still a Cov-idiot. If you don't like the policy go to a different store! I could see he was just looking for a fight and I just wasn't in the mood... so they lost a star for this. However, the rest of the store was great. Brightly lit, friendly employees, wide aisles, good selection of products, decent prices. The cashier even offered me some coupons that I hadn't downloaded. I can't speak for all Albertson's. This Albertsons has plenty of parking.Prices seem a little more than Frys but it is never super crowded which I love!!! Bakery and deli is good,lots of veggies, fruits, frozen stuff,beer specials.Easier to find stuff than at Frys ,not such a zoo like Frys,the crowds at Frys is almost overwhelming after work.Bank inside.Convenient gas station in same lot.I would give it a five star rating but Walmarts and Frys cost a wee bit less but for convenience this place rocks. read more

Now normally I would never write a review for grocery store. But based on the customer service I just received I felt I needed to. I was looking for a spice that is very common but the store seem to be out of it on several different brands. So I opted for the much more expensive gourmet version of it and was willing to move on. An employee saw me looking all around ask for what I needed I told her you just seem to be out and was going down the rest of my list. As I'm standing at the register ready to check out she walks up to me finding one of the popular brand of spice that I needed. The fact that she took the time to dig one out just seem to amaze me. It is fine, not the stores fault, but the cashier Tony, 50 or so grey hair, is a cooze. I bought some carrots, the organic kind with all the green stuff coming out the top, forgot milk, so I go back in. With my 2 year old btw. He spots the Albertsons bag at the bottom of my stroller exploding with these carrots and proceeds to accuse me of stealing them. I shop there almost everyday. When you have kids you tend to go often. I've been through his line a hundred times and never again. I avoid him at all cost. Not only did he insult my dignity, but also my intelligence. Why would I steal a huge bag of carrots valued at $5. Anything else would have been a better choice of items to steal. You're going to go to whatever grocery store is closest to you, but usually you have 2 or 3 options within the same radius. If you live in the area, you should really consider making this your store. And here's why... 1. No member cards. Albertson's started doing member cards a few years ago much to my dismay... I protested and pissed and moaned because I knew what it meant... At the time, they were the last store to not have such a program and I would've gone miles out of my way to shop there for that reason alone. These savings cards are bullshit - first of all, they take personal info from you and use it to market to you and monitor what you buy. It's a privacy issue and a spam issue. Second, these fucking cards cost money - you really think you're saving anything? It costs them millions to launch such a campaign - they have to get that money somewhere. They get it by raising the prices of shit. I noticed it right away as soon as the cards were implimented. Even with the savings card, my groceries were more expensive than before. Fuck that. Anyway, they finally got rid of the cards again - so I love them again. Thank you Albertson's. 2. This place is a den of hot chicks. Strippers, college students, hot nurses, and all sorts of sexy singles shop here. I've never seen such a hot group of 20-30somethings shopping for groceries in one place. Now, I shop later at night usually - but it doesn't seem to matter too much what time of day you go. It's a good looking crowd. Single people, take your carts and smash into someone you find attractive and strike up a conversation... ask some cutie if they know the best way to squeeze a melon (even though you thunk em, I think). 3. Selection... this place has a decent selection of wine and organic products and produce and deli and whatever else. It's not the best store I've ever been to, but it's good. In fact, that's where that 5th star went - this place could be a little better if it was a little bigger or newer... Still, it's got everything I'm ever looking for which is all you can really ask for from a grocery store. They stopped carrying the bread I like and I had to ask a few times and submit a few cards, but they started carrying it again. So I can't help but like this store. 4. Prices... It doesn't have the best prices on everything, but for someone like me who doesn't do coupons, my grocery bill is smaller here than it is at Fry's with their savings card. You can also get gas here and their gas isn't that bad. It's also normally pretty cheap. If you live in the area, give this shopping center a try... read more

This is a very slow location. I really enjoyed their meat sales but that is about it. Now that I have been eating less meat I don't really see any other reason to shop here anymore. The employees I have encountered in the evening seem like they are bothered to be working. My bf and I come in here several times a week after the gym to get whatever item we ran out of/forgot that we need for dinner that night. Most of the staff know us and always make small talk, always ask if we need helping finding anything, etc and are very nice/helpful. Clean store. Prices are a little high but we don't do our regular grocery shopping here, just picking up a few items each time. I will say that they always are the cheapest on single energy drinks though. The only reason I am giving 3 stars instead of 5 is because they are ALWAYS short staffed. It'll be peak time on a week day and they'll have 3 registers open. So you'll have to wait in a long line and it will take a while. read more

Doesn't usually have a lot of discounts. More expensive compared to Fry's, Safeway, and other grocery stores around here. It is just really convenient in this area and easier for people to get to but drive a little further away and you can get better price and better quality produce.
