Not only was this the only place we found with a room available but it was also the cheapest by…read morefar. And as for the location....well....it was about as good as we could expect. We arrived in Caceres without a clue as to where anything was. We parked the car near the bull ring and started looking for a place to spend the night. We were about to give up when we found Pension Carretero right on Plaza Mayor. There was only one room available and we took it. We ended up with a quiet room in the back of the hotel with a quaint view over the surrounding rooftops. The room was spartan and clean. The baths were shared but there were three to choose from and again they were spotless. We took advantage of the common room to read and relax. Wifi was strong and fast. Reception was courteous and even though their English was non-existant we had no problem communicating....at least we tried to understood everything. This is a no nonsense place with all the basics in a location that cannot be beat. If we come back to Caceres, we would gladly stay here.
