Covington Square - Newton County Courthouse on the Covington Square, Covington GA

Covington Square in Covington, Georgia, is a beautifully preserved historic district that anchors…read morethe city. Today, it was buzzing with energy thanks to a tremendous car show that filled the square with gleaming chrome, vintage engines, and crowds of enthusiasts. At the center stands the Newton County Courthouse, a red-brick Victorian landmark built in 1884, known for its clock tower and frequent appearances in film and television, including The Dukes of Hazzard and The Vampire Diaries. Among the square's monuments is the Confederate Memorial, erected in 1906 by the United Daughters of the Confederacy. It features a granite obelisk topped with a soldier and honors Newton County residents who served in the Civil War. Nearby, the Covington Square Historical Marker recounts the town's experience during General Sherman's March to the Sea, including the burning of the railroad depot and the mixed reactions of locals. There is also an obelisk serving as the town's Veterans Memorial, listing those from Newton County who died serving in World War II, Korea, Vietnam and the Gulf War. The car show added a festive layer to the square's usual charm. Classic muscle cars and custom builds lined the streets, drawing visitors who paused to admire the craftsmanship and snap photos with the courthouse in the background. The event blended Covington's rich history with its lively present, making the square feel like a true crossroads of culture and community. [Review 1298 of 2025 - 846 in Georgia - 24850 overall]

EXTREME MOLD IN UNITS!! *Pics and screenshots provided *…read moreLet's start by saying I have NOT YET AFTER 1 YEAR & 1 month RECEIVED A REIMBURSEMENT FOR EVERYTHING THAT HAVE BEEN DAMAGED WITH MOLD due to these apartments. Told by the "on-site Property MANAGER" "PROPERTY MANAGER " ,"regional management". IT HAS BEEN in " corporate". Meanwhile Since being rushed to move out, I have NOT HEARD ANYTHING obtaining my reimbursement STATUS. I moved in Wellington ridge apt#827 in FEBRUARY 26th OF 2021 moved out SEPTEMBER OF 2021...... 4/6 months in the unit I kept calling and emailing the front desk lady who's younger, simply just letting her know I have black stuff coming from my vents and sockets. YES SOCKETS/plug-ins . Meanwhile at the time wasn't sure if it was mold or not. I got terribly SICK SECOND MONTH living in the apartment THINKING IT WAS COVID. APRIL comes I went to let them know I am having issues with sleeping because the fungus gnats were literally sleeping with me. I would wake up slapping my face because I could feel them landing on me. Even had to remove a 3month year old at the time out the apartment because I was scared of her getting one in her ears or nose. Yes, FUNGUS GNATS would be in her bed. NOTHING was done about it besides spraying in the window seals where u can clearly see that there was so much moisture in the apartment condensation will be on all windows. Meanwhile I was having them spray every two weeks for them to kind of calm down. BACK TO THE MOLD- I was having the mold growing on my clothes that was hung up in the back of the closet. We all have clothing that we wear here n there, a pair of pants that's been in the back since moving in was finally getting ready to be worn until I saw it was so molded......... Mind you nothing was wet moving in. Took the same pair of pants to the office and after waiting 45mins I was told that's NOT mold BY THE "PROPERTY MANAGER" BUT she would send someone out to spray....... If it's not mold y come spray BLEACH IN MY VENTS AND CHANGE THE FILTER IN MY UNIT....Found out they Sprayed bleach because they was so careless about even spraying it. It was EVERYWHERE ON MY CLOTHES and on my brand new Calvin Klein bed spread pissed wasn't the word. I traveled for work during all this so I was always in and out but they didn't know I had cameras in my home while gone. I think they caught on to Me traveling a lot n would barley be there. They would say they spraying for the gnats and would never even come in the unit but will send a email saying they have finished/ completed my maintenance request. MAY OF 2021 I asked again to speak to the "PROPERTY MANAGER" the gnats we're still there in the unit she told me to pour bleach every day and cover the drains. I LEFT the apt in August BUT before leaving I let them know I was not trying to come back to a apartment full of FUNGUS GNATS AND MOLD. They came to put the air on 75* cold and spray for gnats. BEST PART - 3 WEEKS LATER from my work assignment I come home to a full blown MOLDED APARTMENT. NOTHING DIDN'T HAVE MOLD ON IT. Everything and I mean everything covered in green and black mold . I WAS PUT IN A ROACH INFESTED and MORE MOLD MOTEL... once told them I can't stay anywhere els with mold was told that's all they can do until further notice. A dehumidifier was put in my unit while this was happening. The smell was so bad and got worse when it was taken out and air was off. THIS WAS MY FIRST APARTMENT- the "Property Manager" took practically 2 weeks to come see and do a walk through herself. SAD - crazy she was telling me it's okay to move back in once the dehumidifier does it thing until she came n saw how bad it was molded STILL AFTER THE DEHUMIDIFIER n didn't even want to walk around n touch anything. At this time, told them Even if I move in another unit all of my things have been DAMAGED WITH MOLD. Then was told MULTIPLE TIMES to throw everything away and they will reimburse me for everything that will be thrown away. As I stated everything even my brand new bed frame ,couch , clothes, sneakers, even picture frames everything and anything cloth was molded. THEY HAVE NOT REACHED OUT AGAIN SO IM REACHING OUT TO THEM THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA. Maybe the world can help stop horrible management making promises and not being held accountable for there end of the stick. This have made me loose my job and home all in the same year. CRYING OUT FOR HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP STILL AFTER A YEAR. If any questions would like to be answered by a recent resident I'm gladly to answer Email me- I can provide names for who's not taking accountability for this as well Holmesmara@yahoo.com

That is, until she completely ghosted us and dropped the ball on the application process. We were told multiple times, at the tour and leading up to applying, that we could recover our administrative fees (not the application fees) if we decided not to move forward or if our application was denied. Well, once we saw how poorly things were going and how the leasing consultant dropped off the map, we got a bad feeling and decided to back out and request our money back. After no response initially when asking when we would get the fees back, the leasing consultant tried to be clever and left a message for my (grown but much younger) roommate /family member whom she had never dealt with the entire time except for meeting them at the tour. As she was being avoidant with me, I guess she thought this was the weakest link.(This is absolutely untrue! Interestingly, as soon as we pulled up for the tour - before even going inside - my roommate said "THIS IS A NO". This is a very intuitive and wise person whose vibes about something are always very strong and accurate.) She stated in the voice message that the application never went through and that because of this, we couldn't get our administrative fees back. We did our part and had evidence we did. So, why? I'll tell you why. SHE didn't do her part to get it to the next stage of processing, whether purposely for some reason or inadvertently, and as a result, we had to pay the price for this - literally and figuratively. She took no ownership for this, but if it was purposeful, then why would she? I wonder what happens to the money because it doesn't just end up in a black hole. Someone has it. Seems unfair and unethical. I called their home office about it, but no one ever responded. Can't say that's surprising because the pattern of poor service often trickles down from the top. I'm actually glad we didn't end up living here. Even though the overall score on other review platforms is acceptable and some are high, many of the specific, less positive reviews share common themes. Additionally, everyone has a different standard of excellence depending on their personality and prior experiences elsewhere. Sometimes that thing that seems great, really isn't. It's only an improvement from the prior. (For example, if we were previously unhoused, then ANY home - no matter how bad - might seem amazing.) In summary, this place seems professional and nice at first, but the true colors eventually come out and the facade is evident. Definitely beware of wolves in sheep clothing here. I do not recommend it, no matter how pretty, new, and shiny it is.
