Since moving to the area we were happy to see Aldi has a presence in Central Florida! We have been to this specific location (as well as the one in Lakeland) a few times since the move and will continue to frequent this store. We go to Aldi for fruits, vegetables, breads, and some frozen items. We do not shop for meats here as the cuts are minimal, smaller in size/packaging and usually more expensive overall. The prices for everything else are much less than the standard grocery store chains. The pre-made pizzas are tasty, well made and inexpensive. The "generic" snacks are just as good (and sometimes better) as the National brands. If you need to do major grocery shopping, for a wide variety of items, then this place may not be for you. If you are in need of the aforementioned items (they do carry milk, eggs, etc, as well), or you are nearby after doing your heavy shopping and still need to pick up some basics - swing by. I've been a customer at this aldi's for over a year. Wonderful experience every single time except for today. Went in to grab a few things for the week and on the way out I was ACCUSED of stealing. We have a few larger grocery stores in Auburndale but despite its smaller size we prefer coming to Aldi. The prices are generally lower. The store is always clean. Their selection in some aisles changes and it brings some variety to the store which is nice. I do wish they'd have the hassle back potato's more often. Only reason I made it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the lack of employees. Management runs them barebones. I hate their reliance on self check out and only 1 cashier. read more

The prices are better than Walmart or Publix. I've gotten raspberries at $2 which are typically $4 or more at any other supermarket, and it's like this with many products. The produce is also local. My favorite part is that the cashiers have a seat and get to sit down. This is because Aldi is a German supermarket. In American supermarkets and hotels, the cashiers the idea is that it's professional to stand up for 8 hours. Really, standing up for 8 hours as a cashier is not more professional. It is just the slave owner mentality of the US system-- we as a society don't care about workers, their welfare or wellbeing. A wine selection at Aldi, a discount grocery store? And it's actually good too? What has this world come to?! I'm pleasantly blown away with this new store and what Aldi has done to rebrand themselves. I'm finding more organic products here and quality produce. It's a small selection but generally what I need. As far as other goods go, I'm ecstatic to find things like fresh Naan or Jarritos soda, even tide laundry soap. Every good Aldi shopper finds the deals worth it but knows this can't be your one and only. You have to cheat on Aldi, and go somewhere else to get everything on your list. That's ok, the prices and savings are worth the extra trip! read more

Yay!! Aldi Auburndale is back open! The remodel is awesome. It's so bright inside and all my favorite employees are back and everyone is smiling (except for a few grumpy shoppers lol). Hey Aldi, thank you for cutting my grocery bill! A 16" pizza for 6.99 (so good by the way) a gallon of milk was $2.33 & a loaf of bread for less than $2. Seriously, y'all have prices that cannot be beat! And this particular location is fantastic. It is clean and so organized. Very clean and stocked well. I wish that Aldi would extend their stores to other areas to compete with the "monopoly"...Publix. I was fortunate to live in Europe for over 10 years and Aldi was always a great augmentation to the large grocery stores. I think once the USA gets used to this type of store, it will market to the nicer areas of town. The area in Lakeland was nice but the stores in Tampa are not in the safest areas. In Florida, they always seemed to place these stores in reduced income areas that may turn some consumers off. I would love to see one in Wesley Chapel or New Tampa area! read more

It is difficult for me to believe the 4 and 5 stars. We went in to this store for the first time ever... on May 23rd, 2021. We figured out how to get the cart..ok we are doing great so far. Then we got to the door/entry way. I cannot explain the overwhelming staggering smell that hit us as we came in. It was this horrific odor of sour ... (something) we do not know what. Can't say whether it was fruit but smelled like sour milk or "something". As you got to the back of the store the odor lessened. But, by then we just decided to leave. I have never smelled something (and my husband is in agreement so it is not just me) this bad. Employees were walking in this same area and oblivious to this. By then my stomach pretty much had kinda turned over and as i said we left without purchasing anything and just as obvious we will never return. As we were putting our cart back another person walked and and as my husband and i were talking about this they heard us and said that yes, they smelled it too but it was there most of the time and they thought that the prices were good enough to put up with it !! REALLY???? I believe the Heath Dept. need to come check this place out... and at the very least the management needs to take care of this!!! read more

What has happened to Aldi? They used to have killer bacon. In fact, I had to go several times a week, just to get the best maple flavored bacon in the universe. Now, that item is available, but tasteless. It smells good, but burns significantly easier than the previous bacon. The cheese has also gone to pot. The white cheddar was a high quality cheese, but now, after it melts, it tastes and feels plasticized. It is no better than the Walmart brand, so now I'm buying Cabot Farms white cheddar, which is the same as the old Aldi brand. I buy my bacon at Walmart, too. Wright's bacon is comparable to the old Aldi bacon. If Aldi keeps selling out to the lowest bidder, without a shred of concern about taste and consistency, it won't be worth it to shop there. Already, I've only gone by a fraction of the times I used to. They need to beg the former manufactures to return to them. A small increase in price is worth not having to offer bad tasting and bad performing food. Bacon and cheese are a big deal. read more

I was buying groceries today, Wed. Jan 10 2018 at the Auburndale Florida Store, at about 2 to 2:30 PM. The Manager was working the floor and was not wearing a shirt.
