I'm so surprised by the low Aldi reviews. I'm an Aldi frequenter back where I live in the US, and this Aldi was everything I've come to know and love, and more. The shopping carts take a few different coin options, which is good to have a little flexibility (50 Euro cents, 1 Euro and 2 Euros). It has the usual sections with chocolates, milk and eggs, cheese, meats, produce, etc. But also!! They sell fancy cameras! And laptops! Their wine is just as cheap as usual, but much more delicious. They have more incentive produce (at least from an American perspective), like kohlrabi. They have the most gorgeous fresh baked bread. And their flowers are so lovely. My husband and I got food for the next few days, plus surprise flowers, for 17 Euros! So we can save our money for exploring and cook at home. I love Aldi, and I love this one too. This Aldi is not good

Cashiers are appropriately depressed/stressed, given how popping this Aldi location is. Really sets the ambience of Aldi, the ultimate discount store. The bins near the front doors display the oddest collection of items, from jarred sauerkraut to airplane friendly lotion to weirdly "upscale" tea. I must admit, I have yet to buy any fresh food from here apart from a small box of apples I got my first day here because the next day was Sunday and shops are CLOSED on Sundays in Germany. But I trust Aldi 110% when it comes to cheap boxed foods, and boy can you find boxes upon boxes here. I would say my absolute all time favorite Aldi food box is the boxed veggie tofu lunchmeat towards the back of the store. I have tried all the veggie meats from Rewe and for some reason continue to buy the one from Aldi. I have also purchased 2+ huge (read: 100g gratis! Or whatever) bags of Haribo gummy bears for 1.09€. Insane. Apart from Haribo and Toffifee I recognized no other brand name candy, but they have plenty of carton milk and even organic eggs for real cheap. Who needs gourmet when you have Aldi's boxes??!! read more
