Also in Las Vegas the employees can be rude when asked for help. Im in a wheelchair and sometimes I require a decent amount of help while shopping. Now with that said I came in to this Walmart in Hartwell about 10:15pm less than an hour before they closed. The store was clean and winding down. I was having a hard time finding things as it's a bit of a different layout from my Vegas stores. I ran into an employee named Edward. He was friendly and greeted me with a smile. He helped me find the last few items I needed in grocery. I must say all the staff seemed very friendly and welcoming. I was even impressed that none of them had earbuds in like the employees that work at Walmart in Las Vegas. If i travel back through Hartwell again I will definitely be stopping there again. He started making faces to the other cashier in front of him simply because my mom was taking a little longer to find her card. The girl cashier he was making faces to saw that I caught her and she looked the other way. This behavior is not okay. If you don't like your job find ANOTHER ONE.

The store is clean, well lit and well organized. You can pick up freshly cooked food in the deli area or choose from an extensive selection of great cheeses. You pay a little more than you would at the Walmart that is a few doors down but it is well worth it for the convenience and the quality you receive. The gas prices here are usually within a penny of what you pay at Walmart.

There are three things I like about this grocery store: the prices, the selection, and the people…read more The two big chain stores here in Hartwell have a better selection on most things, but this store really pays attention to what it is people here (all the people!) really want and need. The two big chain stores are closer, but we drive the extra distance to Quality Foods (unless we just need milk, then we go to the Dollar General). When we moved here, someone told us that this was where "the poor people shop." I'm not sure what they meant, but it is the case that it caters to regular people. The aisles are well organized, the prices are good, and they take good care of the place. The staff is friendly and the management is community focused. For example, when the weather turned bad (it actually started snowing!), the store let the Girl Scouts that were selling cookies outside move inside. One of the chain stores won't even allow the Girl Scouts to sell cookies on their property.

A deli ,a shop , very local and a bit on the honor system where you get a bag and write down what you want on a sandwich to eat ,pick a drink and sit and enjoy. So 6 of us came in, found a table, got our orders into the box and waited for our names to be called. Only took five minutes or so, and each one of our orders was called and you go up and pick it up and head back to the table. Maybe pick up some cake , or anything else you desire but I got a turkey Panini with everything on it and it was super !!! a side of potato salad, and some chips for some reason and I was stuffed. The kids ate well., and we even bought some lasagnas and a chicken casserole to take home for my daughter to eat with her family tonight and tomorrow so she didn't have to cook. This place was packed today the day before Christmas Christmas Eve., everyone looked happy, the staff was very pleasant and very efficient , and the shelves were lined with candies and chips or spices. I actually didn't have time to look at all the options, but what a great market and place to enjoy with the kids and family.. The customers also change greatly based on the time of year. During the fall, winter, and early spring, you'll find the regulars only. Later in the spring and during the summer, you are going to find your typical lake visitors. They overrun the town and rarely make things easy for this easy going store. This store is ideal during the colder months, but don't go to it if it's warm out because you'll have to fight for anything you need at a Dollar General.

Practically none of the vendors accept card also there isn't a market loyalty system or newsletters to let people know what is available or a updated and maintained website that I know of to introduce vendors. I'd still agree the products and food here aren't all that bad, and prices can fluctuate. In comparison to other farmers markets they don't really hold a flame though. However, it seems to be a rag tag buncha local gardeners which is totally fine. If you're looking for the open air market experience, you might be a little disappointed, but if you're looking for cheap produce then by all means. Just bring cash.
