They definitely have the best selection in town, and if not the best prices, very close to it. Right by the cash registers, they always have several kinds of crazy deals going on (last week, a pack of blueberries for 50 cents), which is great if you make a lot of soups and stocks. My wife recently got into making jams, so the deals have been most helpful for her and the friends and family that keep getting regular reups of homemade goodness. Another great thing about this place is that the staff arer both knowledgeable and friendlya rarity in Nbg. From clothes, electronics, international food specialties and normal foodstuffs this place has it all from what I can tell. I've bee going by a saying since I found this place awhile ago and that's if they don't got it, then the last place I'll find it is amazon. This place is huge and the produce section is very large with a big selection of fruits and vegetables that aren't normally found in stores such as flown in fresh fruits known as "flugware" and sweet potatoes. The layout of the store is very nice, half being dedicated to food and the other half to generic items including Tupperware, car items, and household products. All in all this store has a great layout and offers a one stop for almost all you need in your day. It isn't the cheapest but you'll get what you want. My favorite at this Real is the availability of refried beans and taco mix to make some authentic texmex at home.

To me, Karl Holch's butcher shop is unique for one reason above all others: it's the only butcher…read moreshop in the world that I know of that actually slices yellow sausage in natural casings. For that alone, the shop really deserves an innovation award. From the outside, everything looks pleasantly down-to-earth, but inside, you'll find an assortment that leaves even die-hard sausage lovers momentarily speechless with awe. Fresh meat and sausage products, a small hot food counter for those sudden cravings, and a selection that regularly has you heading home with more than you originally planned. The prices may be a bit higher than at discount stores. In return, however, you get meat quality that doesn't need to be explained in advertising flyers. Here, you can taste pretty quickly what you're paying for. The canned sausages are particularly dangerous. You actually buy one to stock up. Then a second one. And suddenly you have a small strategic sausage stash for unforeseen emergencies. The staff are incredibly friendly and patiently offer advice even when you're standing at the counter saying for the third time, "Actually, I only wanted to buy a little something today." On top of that, there are regular sales that effectively undermine the wallet's reputation as a natural brake. I suspect, anyway, that the butcher shop operates on a simple business model: First, they lure customers in with outstanding quality, then they make sure that when they leave the store, they suddenly have significantly more sausage than they planned to buy when they walked in. Bottom line: Outstanding quality, friendly service, a great selection, and canned sausage that would likely still be traded even after the end of civilization. A butcher shop just the way you'd want it.

This particular chain of supermarkets are somewhat smaller than other ones, and it is considered as a discount store. Therefore, their merchandise is generally cheaper compared to other similar supermarkets. Since this particular one is a smaller store, choice of merchandise is somewhat limited (according to its limited floor space). Also, in general, merchandise they carry are not the same as other more expensive supermarkets do, so I can't really do an apple to apple comparison in terms of price. You get what you pay for...a basic principle of the free-market society... Nonetheless, it's always a great bargain if you can find something you need/want for less. That's what makes shopping at this store worthwhile, I suppose.
