The new shop on Henry Street has barely been open and it's already generating a lot of traffic. I went in today and saw a number of stylish pairs like these leather flats that came in purple, black and grey with a delicate swirl at the top of the shoe. Aldo specializes in fancy shoes, offering a variety of styles perfect for the office or for going out. It rarely designs casual footwear and doesn't do runners. Instead it makes tall and short boots, sandals, heels and flats. Prices and quality are moderate. Most shoes cost 40 Euro and up and will last you a year.

I wish i had of gotten her name anyways there was another woman looked like a manager didn't care for her much as she had no interest in me or other customers but hey i still got a great pair of shoes so i am a happy wee girl. I am a huge fan of irregular choice and red or dead, and they do both as well as other stuff. I still have all my Schuh purchases, the oldest is pushing 6 years, I kid you not, they stock good quality so it's worth the money. Staff are great because they have often put up with my moaning about the shoe not being in the colour I want or size, and instead of stabbing me they actually have taken the time to call all their sister stores and even their UK stores, yup they are good people. If you want a pair of shoes that people will admire and want, come here. Best of all they are always refreshing the line, so chances are you will not face the cringe factor of seeing someone else in your shoes.

But where they really excel is the variety of casual sneakers they have for girls. I've noticed a lot of shops in Dublin carry tons of these every day shoes for guys but little to no options for girls. We don't always prance around in high heels, in fact I rarely do! So I was pretty much in sneaker heaven at Schuh. They also carry a lot of different labels like the very unique Irregular Choice, the edgy Red or Dead and the comfy, hippie trainers and flats that are Simple. These are rare finds in any other shoe shop, but Schuh's full of them. They've got tons of old standards like Converse and Doc Marten if you don't feel like straying quite so far out of your comfort zone. Their selection for guys is also great in terms of trainers. They also have a wonderful variety of leather shoes appropriate for the office or a night on the town.

Twenty minutes later I'm still standing in Aldo wondering what I can buy. Aldo is a great shop just because it's so cheap and cheerful but also stocks the right things. The shoes and boots are really nice and just the price that you think you can buy them without breaking the bank. Then they have bags and jewellery to match, it's hard to pass by. Up to the minute fashion, I even felt fashionable just being in there, it's affordable too. But, I stayed strong. I left with just two flower hair-clips for €6 each (but you can pin them to your coat too, so it's totally a deal). Maybe I'll visit them again after pay day...

I find their boots to be especially compelling, and they have dozens of styles and colors to choose from. I think their heels and flats can leave a bit to be desired, as I find a lot of them kind of ho-hum. Still, it would be a great place to find a sturdy pair you can wear for both work and play. Their men's shoes are great. They're both stylish and not too metrosexual so this is a fabulous place for regular joes to get some party shoes of their own.

The prices are a bit out of my student budget range, but the last time I was there they had a great sale on. They have tons of beautiful things, including bags and jewellery. The outlet on Henry Street is different than the one on Grafton as it is not as busy and cramped. I was at this particular shop this morning and there were three racks of marked-down merchandise with a mix of strappy sandals and runners. I had to wait a while to get served even though there were four people on the floor. However, the sales assistant made up for the delay by being very friendly and helpful. On three separate occasions she ran up the stairs to get me different sizes and styles. In the end, I ended up getting a pair of black comfortable Fred Perry's for 22 Euro (half-priced). Not bad for a half hour of shopping!

Despite this, even I think a lot of the shoes at Office were cute enough to splurge a bit on and take out on the town. They have a nice mix of styles to offer - not everything is fancy, though there are some staggeringly high heels that I honestly wonder if anyone ever buys. They also have some super cute flats (way more my speed) and lots of sneaks in cool colors, especially for guys. Everything is right on trend though some pairs have a bit more zing to them, which is why I really liked this shop. I cannot wait to get some cash because there is a pair of hidden platform, red patent leather heels with my name on them.

Tucked away down Merchant's Arch across from the Ha'Penny Bridge, China Blue is a great shoe shop…read morethat offers a variety of brands not easily found in Dublin. They sell Irregular Choice, Pepe, Gola, Ben Sherman, New Rock and the best selection of Doc Martens I've seen in this town! They have awesome boots in a great many colors and even more styles. This is the only place I've found a pair of green leather boots, something I've been hunting for since my current green leather boots began to die.

Any time I have gone in their the staff leave you to your own devices to inspect the shoes, they don't hoover which is very off putting to me. No idea where the inspiration for the name came from so if anyone has any inside knowledge on that or even an idea why the aforementioned name was chosen let me know!

I have one…read morefoot bigger than the other (12 and 12 and a half) and buying shoes has often resulted in embarassing instances of mashing down the back wall of a pair of Etnies to get these canoe shaped clown feet into an inappropriately sized boot. Schuh has always been best for me in this respect as they have a lot of stock and a lot of styles. There stuff is a bit pricey, but their shoes are decent quality. My only gripe is that Schuh is often understaffed and you are often waiting ages on a pair of shoes from the stockroom. Which sucks for the staff.

They're made of various materials that are affixed to your feet using a system of laces, straps, or other such thing to stop them from not being on your feet. They're great! Ok, I give up. Go to Schuh to get shoes. Just try not to get startled by the person hiding just inside the shopping waiting to jump out and say hello to you. Clarks traditionally make the kind of shoes I can't help but think of as school shoes. They usually…read morestick to leather in brown, black or navy and sometimes they seem to be the last bastion of flat shoes for women! Thankfully in recent years Clarks have come to embrace the fashion element of shoes while keeping their emphasis on comfort and quality. They've broadened their range to prettier shoes, so you can still get flat shoes here but now you have the option of having flowers on them. They also do heels as well, but they usually keep them to a sensible height so you're unlikely to get vertigo from any of these shoes. Many of my favourite wearable shoes (as opposed to the beautiful but unwearable ones that populate my wardrobe and never get to go outside) over the years have come from Clarks. Shoes bought here are more likely to last longer and be wearable, but that doesn't mean you have to ignore fashion!
