I specifically came to Dr.Alecia Giovinazzo because she dealt with menopausal woman and needed some help in dealing with my symptoms and advice. I had blood tests done which took weeks to have them read and a second time to see if my cholesterol went down so she can then proceed with HRT. This once again took another 3 weeks to tell me it did. I didn't even speak to her an assistant called. So here I am months later trying to get Dr. Giovinazzo to respond to my numerous calls to follow up with HRT. Any woman who is going through menopause knows it's hell clearly this Dr. does not care about her patients , why take new patients if you have no time? Stay clear of her she is unsympathetic and to busy for her patients. read more

So, I have been with Dr G for over a year. Last June , polypts were removed and assured all would br fine. Well, my period never returned, and many appts later, I insisted on seeing the doctor. I have scheduled 3 appts to see Dr G and all have been canceled. She refuses to see me, makes the pa see me and sends me on my way. She knows that I'm done having children, so I guess I'm not important anymore. What kind of doc doesn't follow up after a procedure, it's been a year? How do you keep telling your staff to cancell me? Unfortunately, I won't be returning! So sad because she has a great, organized office. I went here throughout my entire pregnancy.. Amijet & Victoria were great and so is the staff. Unfortunately only met the dr for two minutes my entire pregnancy (until delivery) which is not something I expected. I thought by choosing a doctor to deliver my baby, I would actually know them. I do feel like my induction was almost manifested, when I got the phone call at 7 1/2 months pregnant for my induction date ? When I stated I don't want an induction, they told me it was necessary because of my gestational diabetes .. which I never had... fast forward to 37 weeks pregnant, ended up being induced for hypertension. I do feel like the induction was pushed from day one.. My induction was brutal. The hospital began calling the doctor by day 2 at 7 pm, she didn't arrive until 1 am... I did not see the doctor until it was time to push. After being examined she left the room and told me " shes going to say her prayers & hail Mary's and would be back in 4 hours when the baby is actually ready" ... and left me there to deliver - thanks to the resident doctor & nurses my baby was here in two hours, Dr G came back the last 20 minutes of me pushing.. although her office & staff was amazing it was definitely not the experience I expected my first pregnancy. I thought for sure I would know my doctor and expect them to be there for my entire delivery, not my hospital stay, but at least the delivery portion of it.. My next pregnancy I will be sure to be familiar with my doctor and make sure they actually see me on appointments knowing they will be delivering my baby. I was also unimpressed with her bedside manners and out of line comments and lack of compassion. i was induced for high blood pressure. my 6 week check up they NEVER even checked my blood pressure! after telling them somethings wrong and i dont feel right their response was " oh, you just had a baby it's normal" .. well undiagnosed post partum PRE ECLAMPSIA is not!!!!! read more

I have been with Dr. G. since my 1st pregnancy in 2016 and with my other 2 pregnancies after that. She is so sweet and professional and is such a boss in the delivery room. She really listens to what you want and your concerns and gets things done. Especially this last delivery during the Omicron outbreak, she was super chill and was able to get my mom in the delivery room despite the nurses there saying she wasn't allowed in! At week 24 of our pregnancy, we have been with Dr. G the whole time. Unfortunately out of 7 appointments, she's only attended one. Every appointment is over a 90 minute wait. We feel that it is too late to switch Drs this far into the pregnancy, however once our child is born we will absolutely be finding another Dr for aftercare. read more

Worst worst worst Dr of all time. Scheduled my sister for 7 am, then told her she was going to leave and come back at 10 am because she was doing an Easter egg hunt. In that case don't schedule someone then leave them for 3 hours. Then we complained to the administrator because the Dr wasn't ready until 12.. 5 hours total.. then Dr Giovinazzo calls my sister before she comes for the surgery and starts screaming at her at the top of her lungs and said that she won't come back and that she was "Really doing us the favor"... WTF does that mean? Never heard that a Dr who's job to deliver babies is doing their patient a "Favor" by doing her job and delivering the baby. While this office is busy and your guaranteed to wait an hour maybe more before you're seen for your appointment- it is ABSOLUTELY worth the wait. Once inside I'm not rushed, the doctor and nurses listen to my concerns and develop a plan head on. I'm currently trying to conceive my second child and while nothing is confirmed yet I'm confident in the plan I have with Dr. G. She's awesome and I don't plan on going anywhere else, and trust me I've looked for two years before finding this gem of an office of medical professionals. read more

Dr. Giovinazzo is a great Dr. with a good disposition. Her staff is great as well. My main issue and most important to me is that every time I have had an appointment I have spent more than an hour waiting in the waiting room. This has been such an issue for me that at my last appt., after sitting in the waiting room for more than an hour, I got up and canceled my appointment and left. I had worked all day and now it's well pass an hour after my scheduled appointment and I still had not been called. I would be more patient if this only happened occasionally but it has happened every time I had visited this office, this is unacceptable. Time is too important, and yes a good female OB/GYN is hard to find on Staten Island but you can't get back time once it's gone. I work in the city I will find a Dr. there. read more

Dr. Giovinazzo, the PA Amijet, and the team are all amazing! Yes, the office is super busy but that's only because Dr G and Amijet do not rush anyone out the door. If I could give her a zero I would. No bedside manner. Not gentle, didn't help or give me information on what would be a better way to miscarry... Not like there is a good way but at least let me know pros and cons of a D&C vs. Natural. I miscarried at 14.5 weeks. Everything was normal and then one day evrything was not. The girl was doing to ultrasound and she left the room. Dr. Giovanazzo came into the room and goes " oh this is a missed miscarriage " and left the room. She told me she was scheduling me for a D&C at 8am the next morning. I get to RUMC and the procedure is not done until 4pm. Why schedule something and not show up for 8 hours. I'm not sure why she has many good reviews on google. For one thing, her wait time is insane, and they take people before you even if you're on time for your appointment. I was 10 mins early to my 1015 appt and someone had an appt for 1030 and came in at 10 and they were seen before me. What is the point of scheduling an appointment then ?? Also, I never met the doctor - even after being told I would meet her that same day. Instead I met the PA who was extremely dismissive and a bit condescending. She seemed annoyed that I had questions and concerns even though I have a confirmed issue going on via my sonogram. Finally, after expressing how I am prone to bladder infections they failed to ask me for urine specimen on 3 different occasions, I actually had to remind them and when I did they had no more specimen cups- I had to use a regular plastic cup . . I will never go back and it's quite concerning that a doctor who is suppose to be monitoring patients carrying a life can be so aloof and unorganized. They need to stop accepting new patients if they passed their capacity to care for patients adequately. read more

So I had a doctor that I loved and she retired her partner took over and was a miserable specimen of a person. I got chronic Bartholin cysts that had to constantly be cut and drained; and extremely awful and horrifying procedure. I went on search of a new doctor and found Dr G. My first time there she scheduled me for surgery to have this issue taken care of. I didn't even know there was a surgery. That was 2 years ago and I haven't had one since. My procedure was virtually painless and it came out scarless. Then I got pregnant. Although I barely saw the doctor the PAs are amazing and so sweet so are the nurses. My baby was a little early and a little small and they caught it in time. I had an induced labor and Dr G was there for the entire thing. She was AMAZING she kept me so cool and so calm and I had a beautiful and easy delivery. No tearing and no scars again. Although the wait time IS in fact extremely long every time I believe it's because they're all good doctors. Has to be a reason why we all wait so long and don't go somewhere else. Yes sometimes they can be short and a little dismissive but it's never in a rude or nasty way. I truly love this place and feel very safe here. Thank you girls !! read more

I'm surprised to see what people are saying about Dr. G being condescending or rude, as I think her bedside manner is phenomenal. She listens to me and is so encouraging. Also when I started having infertility issues, she recommended me to Dr. Traub (another amazing doctor) and thanks to IVF I'm pregnant and due in May. After we passed the first trimester, I went back to her, and she's been wonderful to work with. She is as excited as me about my pregnancy. I always come in with a list of questions, and either she or her PA sits down and listens to each one and answers each one. The care I receive there from everyone, from the entire staff (front desk included), is just a wonderful experience. She also takes the time to explain things to me and I don't feel talked down to... I feel like she is just doing everything she can to make sure I understand and that I don't leave feeling like, well the doctor tried to explain but I didn't get it. She just wants to make sure she reaches you and gives you the best possible care. If I could give her more than 5 stars, I would. I trust her with my life (and my baby's!). read more
