I worked with Alex for 5 years to manage my single family home built in the 50's. Previously I had managed the property myself for about 1.5 years (when I lived in Hampton Roads), then I had a different property manager for about a year (who was awful), then finally Alex (a Godsend). Because of these past experiences, I understood the amount of attention that's required to manage a property properly AND how difficult it can be to own a rental with a property manager who is not well organized, assertive, honest, and has established relationships with some of the most affordable plumbers, electricians, general contractors, and (unfortunately for us) roofers as well. She will look out for your best interest (her move out inspections were great!) and do so while looking out for others as much as she can (she always would do thorough pre-move out inspections with our tenants. The responsible ones got their full deposit back and we had a move-in ready house. The irresponsible ones got invoices for repairs and cleanings...). She is kind, but was our "hammer" when we needed one. She would even go the extra mile unasked (she did sleuthing before one move out because she suspected that our tenants had a dog, even though they didn't pay the pet fee in their lease. She got the necessary evidence and was able to collect the pet fee, all without me asking). We honestly wouldn't have kept our rental for as long as we did if it weren't for Alex and her team taking such good care of us. We ended up deciding to sell the house during COVID to reduce our financial risk, and we used Alex for the sale as well. "As if buying a home isn't stressful enough...try moving halfway across the country to Virginia Beach and buying one. My wife and I were expecting major headaches after major headaches when we started seriously house shopping. For the first year...it was exactly that. As a former Realtor myself, I figured that I would have no problem working out a contract and getting the best financing available....I was dead WRONG. Things had changed a lot since my Realtor days. After a year of house hunting...and a contract that fell through..we gave up and moved into a small rental. It was a short time after that, that we met Alex.
