Very efficient, very reasonable. I will definitely use Alexander going forward. He has serviced a Driva, Zenith and is now doing a Breitling. read more

What a gem. I am SO happy we have this shop on Byres Road. Jim, the owner, is a bit of a legend…read more He is an artist and a real craftsman. I wandered in in looking to get my beloved shoes re-heeled. He said it would take about 20 minutes and would cost £9. I suppose that is relatively steep for some people, but considering that I love these shoes and I can finally wear them again AND the real TLC he gives the shoes - polish, shine the whole shebang, I was more than happy to pay! He did a stellar job, is incredibly friendly and chatty and has a good sense of humour. He showed me pictures of some of the repairs he's done, and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the state of the shoes that some people bring in. Anything from Doc Martins to Jimmy Choo's (they were ghastly, I was shocked!), he managed to make everything look brand new, no matter how little leather was left. This would probably also be the place to come to get keys cut, glass engravings, belt notch making. I have yet to require any of these services, however, I know where I'll be going when the time comes. I am super happy with the service in this place, and can only recommend Jim and craftsmanship! The one thing you should know is that it is cash only.

And the best part, two repaired heels for £8! I highly recommend this shop. If you need keys cut, shoes repaired, passports photos, or even leather work this is the place.

If like me you operate a banger economics strategy when it comes to car purchases, there is a good…read morechance that the alloy wheels on your car are going to start losing their shine. Age tends to get the better of alloy wheels, and after a while the allow starts coming off the wheel or starts bubbling up. The upshot of this is that your tyre doesn't really stick to the wheel all that well, so you have to pump it up pretty much every week. That's where these guys come in. For about a third of the cost of a new wheel (the work cost me £45 all up) they'll take the wheel down to the base metal, recoat it and paint it from a choice of colours - they were able to match my original colour with no problems. It's just a case of turning up, and they will take your wheel for a day or two, and it's as good as new. Watch yourself if you are going on a Friday though, as they close at 2. They are open at 8am though, which is pretty handy. They are recommended by Prestige Tyres in Busby, and I went there based on this. Absolutely no complaints from me, and would highly recommend them should you need this done.
