My neighbor recommended them. I did not check Yelp and wish I had. I found the same issues as many of the other reviews. Never answer the phone. Zero communication. We needed a second trash can. I left so many messages asking about a second can. I said we would pay for an additional receptacle. I even paid extra on my bill and left a second can out. They emptied the Alexander can and not the other. We could not get in touch with them to have them pick up the can. Awful service. We switched to Waste Pros. Worst trash company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Good luck if you need to pay for your bill or have any concerns because the female working there NEVER answers the phone and is so rude when you can finally get her on the phone. I called at least 6 times in a month and never got a call back or a response to any message I left. Finally got a call back and canceled service. paid upfront for 2 months. they picked up the first 2 weeks and haven't seen them since. missed the last 4 weeks of pick up.

I am a current customer paid up through the end of May. Yet, they have not picked up my trash in 3 solid weeks despite picking up all my neighbors. I now have an overflowing trash can in 80+ degree weather. I have literally called them 10 times today and half a dozen times last week. No one ever answers or returns any calls, and their mailbox is always so you can't leave a message and they have no listed email or website. Completely unprofessional and appalling customer service. This is what I'm paying for. UPDATE: I hired another company and left a copy of my paid bill along with a note on the trashcan saying they could take the entire can. I put it next to my neighbor's can so they would be sure to see it. I came back to find that they took the effort to move the can back into my yard still full. That's not just bad service; that's just plain rude and spiteful. And, fyi, Alexander, in the state of NC any property left behind for more than 30 days is considered abandoned. So, you have until July 5, 2023 to remove your can from my property. Or I'll be happy to dispose of it on July 6th. read more

we switched to them due to pricing. however, guess you get what you pay for. The lady on the phone is RUDE. They are never consistent with times, if they have to change days due to unreliable staff, they won't tell you. when you try to call due to trash not being picked up, no one will answer. Phone lady seems to having a lot of personal drama that she likes to display out to customers excuses for why she can't do her job. they use a third-party system for payments that are unreliable, for some reason you can't use their physical address for payment. It has to go to a PO Box and someone else's name which brings up red flags. "Bill Pay" option takes 15 days & isn't even managed by their company so you're giving information and money to a third party company that they won't disclose who it is. When we called to ask why our trash wasn't picked up, she yelled at us & tried to gaslight us. then because we brought up valid concerns, she canceled our trash service and said her mother is more important than our business and hung up. I will be telling ALL the community about this experience and her disgusting attitude. now I see why they have to be the cheapest around. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. The management is scum. They stole 6 months of money from my family, and then took our garbage cans without saying anything. When I called just now to find out what was going on, and why my cans were missing, I got cussed out by their "manager" and told I never "f%cking" paid, which I did in the same manner I have paid since starting service with them. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. No wonder their rating is so low. SCUM. The woman they have answering phones should not have a job. She is rude, unprofessional, and has absolutely zero integrity. She treats the customers who keep them in business like less than the garbage that they pick up (when they aren't busy stealing your money) My advice? find a new garbage company because ALEXANDER WASTE are nothing but lying, rude, thieves. read more

If I could give a negative star I would. Been a customer for 10 years and now they have an issue when I have additional trash ... yes I give more money on those days. They do not return calls unless they want to complain to you. After canceling service they didn't get my trash or trash can. Don't use this company. read more

DO NOT choose this company to pick up your trash! It will NEVER be picked up on time. You will NEVER be told if it is running late. They will "accidentally" over charge your account hoping you won't notice until you bring it to their attention. They do not answer their phones, nor do they return calls. Please save yourself the headache of dealing with them. Not to mention the absolute attitude you'll be met with be the owner, she will definitely accuse you of not sitting out your trash before admitting they messed up. Joke of a company. read more

After receiving a reminder note on our waste can for having a returned check, I promptly called their office. I was told I needed to speak with their billing service. After speaking with their billing service, they found the check had cleared for payment but was ran through a second time which was denied for payment. Neither Alexander not their billing service took responsibility and they both blamed the mistake on the other. So after many years of average service, I fired them today. I have automatic bill-pay set up to reduce my time needed for this type of time wasting activities. I felt that my time meant nothing to Alexander Waste Systems and they couldn't have cared less that I was discontinuing their service. read more

I definitely think this is the worse garbage service out here. They just throw my garbage cans in my yard thrown on there sides or either they are across the street in my neighbors yard or at my neighbor beside me. They definitely don't put them back where they got them. My daughters garbage didn't even get picked up they lifted up her lid looked inside and drove off. I guess they don't think people have camera's. They absolutely suck don't ever use there service you will be highly disappointed. read more

I should have read the reviews more carefully, I just thought who can mess up picking up trash. Don't bother with service, all the reviews said they don't come get the cans when you cancel services, there my can sits 2 weeks later waiting for them to come get. They only have a PO box, wonder what the post office would charge to have it sent to them via PO Box? The lady that answers the phone is very rude (if she answers at all). From not returning phone calls or even answering the phone, not picking up garbage on the day they give you or even picking up, accusing you of not paying your bill when you gave the driver the money, not responding when you cancel service, not refunding your over payment, not picking up their trash can from your property, still sending you bills after a month of service being stopped; these are all reason I would NOT ever use again or recommend this business to anybody! read more

I was astonished at the way I was treated when I called to set up new service and inquire about payment. It is extremely difficult to reach someone by phone and when you do speak with someone they are very short and rude as though they don't even want your business. Methods to pay for your service are out dated and trash is not picked up consistently. This is apparently a very small company that cannot support their customers. Terrible customer service! read more
