The food was good and very good service. We tried a variety of food. There was a mistake made by the kitchen but it was fixed immediately.

My first experience here was quite the trip, but a good one nonetheless! My fiance and I rode our bikes here to have lunch. Every employee that greeted us upon entering was so darn nice! They talked to us about our bike ride, what our plans were, etc. They were just so genuinely friendly! The interior is so pretty - I loved the random artwork, the various lights, and the bathrooms are cute too! Our waitress was a super sweet girl (not surprised) and was very attentive as well. We decided to have the best of both worlds and split a burger and pancakes. The server brought out 3 of the 4 plates, and entirely dropped the 4th one. Water spilled, the plate broke, syrup went all over - you name it! He was so apologetic, but it was really fine! We got to start on our burgers which were just so-so (breakfast is probably more their thing than lunch), but the sweet potato fries were awesome! They were cooked perfectly and almost had a caramel-hint to them that was so addicting. I went to try my portion of the banana fosters, and the anglaise was sadly caramelized a little too long and it had turned into the consistency of a hard candy. I couldn't even begin to cut through it or anything. The waitress apologized , and a third (haha geez) order of the pancakes was quickly brought out. But holy cow were they worth the wait. Every single bite was better than the last. The pancake batter, the anglaise, and that cinnamon butter all mashed together was seriously so good. And so filling - I was stuffed! The little hiccups that occurred didn't even damper our outing in the least. The staff was so kind, the atmosphere was lovely, and the food was great. I will definitely be back as soon as those pumpkin pancakes hit the menu! read more

Food: fantastic meals at breakfast time. Roasted potatoes are delicious and the breakfast panini has been a go-to for me on several occasions. Cleanliness: a place with the food like this has a lot of people wanting to eat at the same time. Things like forks and coffee cups have been dirty at times. Glassware has come to us with wrappers in the water. It's probably hard for the kitchen to keep up. They have always given new dishes/silverware/glassware when we've asked. Tables and floors are always super clean. Service: the people are quite friendly. It's hard to spend time being extremely personable when the volume of customer is so high. With the higher volume comes errors on dishes out of the kitchen (ie bacon instead of sausage links or replacement dishes never showing at the table). All in all, really impressed at how they keep the turnover flowing. I will continue be a patron. read more

One of my favorite restaurants for a Mexican skillet! I love the location with the big windows and open space. Very comfortable spot. Although the service can be a bit spotty they are quite capable of serving up some delicious breakfast meals. I have had their Southwest Skillet w/ chorizo and Cinnamon Roll Pancakes; both of which are outstanding. Shredded Hash Browns are near perfection too. I am, however, not a fan of the breakfast taco. If you are hungry for breakfast and want to leave stuffed this is your spot. Their omelettes are huge and delicious. I am personally a breakfast person and this is one if my favorite spots. Y8u have to come hungry tho or you will have leftovers. They also have a great lunch selection (the few times I've made it to that side if the menu) that is all very fresh and equally as good as their breakfast. Ambiance isn't pretentious but the open space and high Windows give it a bright atmosphere of natural light not typical in usual diners. I like this place better than Geneva's Buttermilk because it is less pretentious and while super busy, they are accurate about the 15 min wait; definitely quick turnover with tasty food. Good comes out quick. Service is a little slow and inconsistent, though. I like booth seating better, but the outside patio seems nice. Autumn special of the Wurst skillet is amazing. The sausage is so flavorful without relying on only pepper. Each skillet is also in omelette form. The pancakes aren't as good as Buttermulk, and the coffee is just okay. Again, Buttermilk is better. But the lack of pretension and quick wait with no fussy app? Gold! The parking lot does get full, but there is an additional lot a short walk away. Just be wary of the gigantic SUVs parked badly in the main lot. read more

I've dinned here before and enjoyed their Mediterranean Omelette; which was very good! I only wish I would have ordered it again and not the Pasta Alfredo with Grilled "Cajun" Chicken. Disappointed! The chicken was dry with NO Cajun flavors or spices and the "garlic" Alfredo sauce was just as bland. Didn't taste any garlic. I did like the Cavatappi pasta versus the noodles you generally get with Pasta Alfredo. Aaron our server did a great job serving our table. She was pleasant, polite and prompt, as well as the host who showed us to our table. The restaurant is clean and the decor is up-to-date. It is always freezing cold in the building. I'm not sure why that is. You may want to bring a sweater in with you. Maybe mittens too! Their prices are fairly high but they do give a lot of food; they always ask if you want to take the rest home. In my opinion, they plate so much that you don't have enough room for their yummy-looking-displayed desserts. I'll have to go in next time just to try them. read more

I ordered their strawberry pancake, toast bread with blueberry topping, bacon and egg, and a caramel drink. Everything was great and delicious. I am impressed and everything was worth trying. The pancake was very soft and the strawberry on it was sweet and flavorful. Toast bread is also great. But I am really amazed by their bacon. It was so tasty and crispy. My friend and I came here with our baby girls. I had never heard of this place, although I have probably driven past it a thousand times, but never noticed it. It is nice, cozy and clean inside. We visited on a Monday so it wasn't super busy but there were quite a few people there for a Monday morning. Everyone was friendly and nice. I ordered chocolate chip gluten free pancakes and they were excellent but HUGE!!! I had no idea how large the portions were! they have a decent sized menu with a variety of breakfast and lunch options. They offer gluten free pancakes and toast/ gluten free bread substitute for sandwiches. I wanted to highlight that because being gluten free sometimes its difficult to find a place that offers plenty of gluten free options, especially when it comes to sandwiches. Convenient location off of Route 64 and Randall Road. The place was packed, but we were seated fairly quickly. We were a party of 6, so we thought it would take a while to have our waiter help us on such a busy morning.. but we were greatly surprised... In no time at all, we had coffees and our huge order on the way to the kitchen. Our food arrived soon after. Very good portions, delicious food and very reasonable prices. We live in North Aurora and Alexander's has been my favorite place for breakfast in the area for years. Lately though the service and food have been going downhill. The scrambled eggs used to be perfect and now they are overcooked or burnt. My family has just told me that maybe we need to find a new breakfast place. We went this morning for Father's Day by my choice and it was the worst visit yet. Our server was Nit great again today forgetful and inattentive. We would ask for things and they never did show up. One order didn't have the right potatoes and when crispy hash browns came back to replace the cubed potatoes they were the burnt scraps from the grill. We were shorted bacon, and a toast order never came out. My mom didn't even eat her eggs because the were so overcooked. I understand that it's hard to get good staff but there was lots of standing around by the servers. If it were up to me this would be our severs last day and the same for the cook. Very disappointed in how far the quality of the restaurant has fallen. I hope you can turn things around. read more
