Much like Amelie up the road, this is the place for a nice cushion or a wedding present. Their window display is lovely and a lot of the stock looks homemade. The lady who runs it is very nice (even looking out for my bus for me whilst I rifled through their selection of greetings cards). The toys in particular seem good so definitely somewhere to visit before Christmas.

It has some beautiful items for sale inside that are great as house gifts or just perfect accessories for your own home. I came in here to seek out something nice for a friend who had recently moved into her first home. I was really impressed by all the pretty little bits and bobs inside and I ended up distracted by things that I thought would like nice in my home, instead of my friend's! The staff were really friendly and very helpful and asked me if I needed any assistance or advice. In the end I bought a couple of candles and a cushion. The prices are moderate, but the items are very much worth it. This place also offers various interior design assistance for any projects or requirements that you may have. Overall, a great place!

Or maybe he knows that there's not a cat in hell's chance of me being able to afford any of the pieces. Sourcing a lot of the furniture from overseas, this is not shabby chic but sophisticated suave. Second hand pieces must be immaculate to make it in here and prices are set high. If you're looking for something paticular, or have an idea in mind but don't want the hassle of trying to find it then drop by. He certainly has an excellent eye for detail, drop by to pick up ceramics, fabric, and furniture from the 20th century.

I can't say I've ever seen such a sign on the door of a shop before, but there's a first time for everything. On entering, I found Capricorn Interiors to be a shop selling not just beds and sofas, but busts of American icons such as James Dean and Laurel Hardy. That these are next to little statues of cherubs and Buddhas make the place seem a little bizarre especially when you realise that you're the only person in there (apart from a friendly man who, after saying hello and asking if I needed help, sat intently glaring at his laptop) and that the place is deathly silent. There's no background music, instore radio, crackly Heart FM, daytime TV, or even the distant, dulcet tones of an air conditioning unit. I'm not sure how this place makes its money because there was nothing in there that wasn't either expensive (leather sofas, plush beds), strange (£40 bust of Elvis) or downright tacky (big hologram pictures of One Direction). I can't argue with the quality of the products, I just found the shop a bit odd.
