Journey's Way is the place you need to visit. A senior center with more things to do than you can imagine, this is where you need to come to really start living again! There is virtually something for everyone, and I know this to be true because I have been a member there since 2011. I originally joined to learn how to play bridge but over the years, I've done so many different things there that I have yet to join the bridge group! Music, art, crafts, reading, writing, discussion groups, help with modern technology (computer, iPhone, iPad help), jewelry making, and so, so much more - you really need to stop in and talk to Mark Weber, who will arrange for a guided tour of the place. Some people like to just come for lunch or bingo, and that is perfectly fine, too. Yes, we offer bingo each week, and have delicious luncheon meals every day there. There are many specials that happen at JW as well - far too many things to do to list here! Call or stop in and if you like it, you can join. Membership is not mandatory, but it does grant certain privileges. You do not need to be alone anymore. Come meet and make some new friends and see how great being a 'senior ager' can be.

The two guys on duty came out and assisted me in removing the furniture from the car and took it into the building. Maybe they've gotten more active in helping donors than described in some previous Yelps reviews? They are conveniently located right on Ridge Avenue. Note that you need to pull into the parking area in the front of the building to unload any donations.

No one greeted me or even acknowledged my existence until I finished all the hard work. As I am getting in my car, one guy says "Can I help you?" I replied that it was a little late to help me as I just did all the work. He then complained that I had a bad attitude and that it was not his job to help me get things out of the car. So there you are, ladies. If you want to be ignored by 4 men, while you struggle to donate, you know where to go! P.S. There's a Salvation Army nearby on Pechin Street, go there instead.

This is the largest Salvation Army store and donation center within the Philly proper, and since its within three blocks of my girlfriend's house, I randomly find myself within here a lot so I can boost my thrifty pants style. Since its within the Roxborough/Manayunk area you do tend to find a lot of good products at bargain prices. I've scored everything from vintage Calvin Klein jeans and collegiate pajamas to American Eagle sweaters and Star Wars merch all between $3-12. With the frequency that they get and restock inventory, it definitely gives you good reason to visit regularly, and you run into a ton of colorful regulars who do just that.
