Ordered a pizza from here for delivery and was told it would be 40 minutes. After 50 minutes, the delivery guy called and told us he was here. We went outside and waited for 5 minutes without seeing anyone. Then the driver called again and, yelling, asked why we weren't outside. I explained that we were waiting but hadn't seen anyone. We stayed on the phone with him for a few minutes explaining what the house looked like and what we were wearing. Finally, the guy checked the address, and realized that he had #220 on our street instead of #20. Normally, this would be no big deal, but the guy kept yelling on the phone, asking why we had given the wrong address. I explained that we said 20 but that the person taking the order might have added an extra 2. He continued yelling on the phone until he arrived and threw the receipt at me. My roommate came outside and he tried to give the pizza to her. She was confused and said "that's not mine" and he responded by yelling "just take it!" and driving away. It's no big deal to make a mistake in address, but this behavior was totally unprofessional and inappropriate. Wow! My family and I (vacationing from New Mexico), thankfully found this place on Yelp. It's away from the hustle and bustle and nightmare parking in downtown on this 4'th of July. This is some of the best food we've had in Boston, and that's even compared to a very high end fine dining establishment we went to last night. The owner is a very friendly and funny guy. They were unbelievably slammed and for good reason. We had potato gnocchi with alfredo sauce- one of the best things we've ever eaten! It came with three large pieces of bread that were absolutely delicious! Also had the Northender sub- so delicious and also on amazing bread! Pizza was excellent. , steak and cheese grinder was big but they finely ground the shaved steak almost to a purée . The texture was off . They also finely chopped peppers onions and mushrooms in food processor . It was more like taco filling than a steak and cheese . I could not even taste any cheese . We called the store to get a replacement & the guy that answered the phone was very rude, gave us an attitude & very uncooperative. Food is always delicious and fresh, and the portion sizes are rediculous! Dinners are definately enough for 2 people, or two meals. If you can do pickup, it's well worth it. If you have to do delivery, set your expectations accordingly. I don't care where you get pizza, an hour after it's made, it's going to be colder and possibly soggy. The owner at this Alfredo location left a bad taste in my mouth that I can never order here ever again. Mark my word! My fiancé would always order from here over & over again. But seriously I'm done with this joint. We called on a Sunday half hour before closing time. Maybe he was having a bad night or whatever but dude! I order from you guys all the time , sometime 2-3 times a week . But last Sunday was the last straw ! Well for me . I would always order Large x cheese ,grill chicken cesear wrap, 10 piece BBQ wings, & chicken finger plate sometimes buffalo. O yeah a steak bomb with xtra steak! "You know who it is NOW??!" It was 3 times we ordered steak bomb extra steak on toasted rolls. Never was a problem till Sunday . He basically called my fiancé a liar that they never did it there . Well anyways it wasn't up for a debate you said no so it's fine W/E! Then he started to explain that the steak are weighed out evenly in each batch and if they weren't weighed correctly in portions then it needed to get thrown out . That they never did that . My experience with Alfredo's has honestly been sub-par. I've had people rave about a lot of things here to me. I personally haven't been amazed by any of their food items but I also have only had wraps, subs, and calzones, not the pizza. So maybe they do pizza really well and I'm missing out.... I've ordered the chicken cordon blue wrap a few times, hoping it will be better than the last since it sounds so good. But alas, the result is cold chicken cutlet with cheese that hasn't been melted. The calzones are flat like a pancake, the filling is basically the same depth as a toaster strudel. As an Italian-American, if you're serving a calzone, it shouldn't appear to be half a pizza with no sauce or cheese. Instead, it should be plump and loaded. I ordered a sub with onions and they gave me 1000 chopped up raw red onions I couldn't even make out the meat underneath. Raw red onions. And another order was supposed to be roasted red peppers on a pizza but I was greeted with a pizza overwhelming with grilled green pepper weirdness. More peppers than meat sauce or cheese. I've only ordered take out and each time I've called they are very pleasant, sooooo rare especially because they are always busy. I was looking for good Italian food for a reasonable price. Alfredo's did not disappoint with their side of eggplant parm. It was a nicely sized portion for two people, along with a salad. The eggplant was breaded and piled high with sauce and cheese. I found the sauce a bit thin, but it was well seasoned. I also ordered a Greek salad. It was as the menu stated, enough for two. I ordered two VERY simple things: a Greek Salad & a Greek Salad Wrap. The guy took my order down incorrectly, sent me the WRONG salad, then blamed me! "No, you 100% ordered a Caesar Salad with extra, extra feta and extra Greek dressing on the side." Why on Earth would I order extra feta and extra greek dressing on a Caesar Salad? Honestly. He yelled at me saying I was wrong, I definitely ordered the Caesar - that he wasn't the one who messed up, I was. And then he said that since I opened the container already (that's when I realized it was wrong) that he couldn't do anything about it, that I had to keep it and he could not send me the correct one. What happened to customer satisfaction? What happened to the customer is always right? What happened to at least APOLOGIZING for your mistake? Unfortunately, the lettuce in our salad was not fresh, and wascbrown on the bottom. Also asked for some pita bread and some thing else was subsistituded for it which was a disappointment. There was a lot of chicken given in the Cabob plate, but the taste was bland. Don't understand why black pepper is put in the rice? I just moved back to Boston from Virginia where my pizza options were either Domino's or Papa John's. VILE. I usually passed on both because one slice was like eating a baseball and just letting it marinate in your stomach. Sorry, but that stuff is nasty. Nothing beats homemade dough and people who weren't trained at Papa John's University. My boyfriend and I wanted pizza one night, so we walked down the street from our apartment checking out different places and finally settled on Alfredo's. I don't know why, but we did... that night, I had to stop myself from eating an entire small cheese pizza. My boyfriend couldn't believe it. Pizza makes me feel like I'm going to crawl out of my skin, I guess it's the grease, and also, I don't have a big stomach. I grew-up with Papa Gino's as my standard thin crust deliciousness, but Alfredo's and I are now BFF's. I actually don't feel like I'm going to die when I eat Alfredo's. Let's be honest, you cook cheese, you get grease, duh, but Alfredo's has minimum/manageable amounts of grease. You get A LOT of food for a reasonable amount of money. Example: Boyfriend and I also ordered a Greek Salad. When they brought it to us, it would've fit comfortably on my coffee table. It was a meal unto itself but with super fresh ingredients, lots of veggies in addition to the traditional Greek ingredients and wow. We ate it all. Then we had pizza and I can't even, whenever my boyfriend suggests we get pizza, I go into some kind of trance and start counting the hours until we can stop at Alfredo's. And as an aside, I've also had their Italian Sub, too, which is basically two meals unless you're a Python and can unhinge your jaw or you have six stomachs. I come here with my roomate weekly, so we've tried a few different meals.. all of them are huge (we always take home leftovers to bring to work for lunch), and delicious! Meatball calzone, delicious; buffalo chicken fingers, delicious; haddock sandwich, delicious; greek salad (steak tips OR chicken), amazing (my roomie is from NY and has never had creamy greek dressing before); the pastas are to die for! This review is based on food I received by delivery through Eat24. I haven't received a lot of non-pizza delivery food. I generally expect the pizza bread or any fried items to be soft and, well, just tolerable. There are plenty of delivery pizza chains we all tolerate because we just sorta' have forever. Or we see their advert and think, meh, sure. My two friends and I were tired. The busy day and early sunset did us in, but we wanted some good food and wine. I suggested we search for food and wine delivery, as I've heard there are some good options in Boston. We weren't expecting much more than just that: delivered food and wine. Wow. Allow me to give you a run down: Meatball parm calzone - The bread got a teeny bit soft (what would you expect?) but it was still damn good. Whatever's going on with that mix of meat, cheese, and sauce is divine. And to be honest (holster your weapons please), I'm not a huge fan of tomatoes. But only because I think most served tomatoes are sadly under-ripe. This sauce, though... Seriously, guys. You gotta' try it. Toasted ravioli plate + chicken parmigiana - The ravioli got a bit soft, and the ricotta firmed up a bit, but that didn't take away from the overall great texture and flavor. And the chicken parm... Ok, I get that this is the lazy excuse for "Italian," but most chicken, in general, is just... well, good. This chicken was tender, and (again) whatever happened with the mixture of spices, cheese, and sauce... divine. Even the breading held up well. Garlic bread w/ cheese - Another lazy excuse for "Italian"? Nah, just more good food. Eat it! One friend got the Greek Salad and was happy with it. The other got the pasta primavera plate and was equally happy. She said it was "very buttery." Friend 1 asked if it was "bad buttery?" Friend 2 said, "Nuh uh," while sticking another forkful of veggied pasta goodness into her face. (I had a bite of the broccoli, which I liked!) I read one review which complained about the size of the tiramisu. For $3, it was fine. (Get over yourself!) It tasted more like an espresso-dipped Boston Cream Pie, but it was still good. They deliver, and they are fast. Their pasta dishes are two meals each (and I'm a fat dude). Their pizza is excellent. The Greeko sub is very yummy. It is not what it use to be. It is spicier than spicy Mexican, and loaded with artichokes that I would never order since I don't like at all. That should be listed on the menu. It also had a good amount of mushrooms which I like - but marinara sauce is...simple, plain which I typically got there - and all I wanted. If you live near Porter/Davis and are sad that Armando's in Cambridge/Huron Village doesn't delivery to you (Somerville must be a scary word to them), give Alfredo's a try. Got the thin crust cheese, popped in my oven when it got here, took it out when it was bubbly and hot, and enjoyed. On the salty side, as most good pizzas seem to be, but nicely balanced. Pasta that we've tried has been okay/not memorable. Greek salad was large, but not impressive, and not worth the price. Delicious pizza, quick enough delivery, and the price is right. Best option for delivery in the area. I have no idea how they make food taste so good after it has been sitting. Whenever I order delivery, I usually have low-to-fair expectations. As long as it's not too salty/soggy/burnt, I am usually ok with it. But the food that comes out of this place is amazing! The chicken, ziti, broccoli alfredo is some of the best I have ever had. The sauce is so creamy and perfectly salty, the chicken soft and tender (which is so rare in pasta dishes), the broccoli still crispy! It is amazing. The toasted ravioli's are also amazing, along with the chicken parm. I don't know how they do it, but the combination of the sauce, cheese, and spices plus the perfect texture is divine. For pizza, we have tried both the plain cheese as well as the primavera. The cheese was just ok, still better than most delivery places, but not awesome. However, the primavera pizza made up for it! It is with a cream sauce, chicken, and caramelized onions. I could have eaten those onions by themselves; they were perfectly sweet without being overwhelming and made the pizza so mouthwatering. Delivery has always been fast and efficient, we have ordered through both GrubHub and over the phone with them.
