Best cafe in the area!…read more Really friendly guys working there offering a wide variety of pastries, snacks, coffees , smoothies, etc. They also have a good sized menu with tasty decent sized meals like salads, fresh pastas and hot sandwiches. Great value food and nicely arranged cafe in general with indoor and outdoor seating on an artistic mix of old chairs and cushions. :)

In an area that is rapidly becoming more and more popular there has not really been that many options for a good cup of coffee. AB cafe have coffee from localish roaster Drop Coffee and also serve great pastries, sandwiches and salads. That coupled with nice friendly service, pretty nice 60s style furniture and free wifi makes for a great cafe. I particularly like the breakfast menus and often go for the large breakfast where one can select any three breakfast items (a variety of different sandwiches, yogurt, smoothies, baked egg etc) as well as any coffee or tea and a croissant. It is usually almost enough to feed two people so really great option. They also have a weekly dish, as well as salads, grilled sandwiches and some of the best baked cinnamon buns in town. It is well worth a trip to the suburbs so do visit!

This place is just screaming for a little TLC! The pie and self-serve coffee was ok! I also loved…read morethe view and the uniqueness of this old victorian era summer home (that's been converted into a confectionary.) It's a nice idea for the location! However, the whole place felt really run down and messy. The lawn was littered with random cheap lawn furniture to sit at. The building inside and out needed a lot of cleaning and repair. I was a little sad at how unkempt the place was. This could be a really nice spot if they just put a little funding into it. It always makes me a little sad to see a beautiful historic building fall into disrepair. I think this place is owned by the city and they supposedly put a bit of work into it, but I don't think they could really afford a proper restoration job. Call me sentimental, but it's just a bit sad. I really wish someone would come and breathe some new life into this place.

The cafe have full windows on two sides and therefore gets in a lot of natural light so it's a bright and nice place. But, I've been here twice, and both times the music was pretty loud. It's to the extent that you'll have a difficult time to have a conversation with the person across the table. If you on the other hand don't need to talk to someone the music selection is pretty good so I guess it's both a pro and con.

Can someone tell me how I would pronounce the name of this place? From the outside it shows…read more'dubbelw' which is even more confusing. Then I read it to myself and I want to say Café Dubbel Double-Yoo or if it's like the French would, Café Dubbel Double-Vay. But I know that can't be right because it sounds stupid with the 'double' twice. Then I realize that the Swedes may pronounce their letter 'W' as 'Veh' or 'Vee' or whatever they would say, which means it would work. However, this confuses me further because how would they pronounce their letter 'V'. Minus one star for confusing the fuck out of me. Just kidding. This place is right down the street from Non Solo Bar (previously reviewed), and if Non Solo's single flaw is that they don't have enough seating, then this place is a great second choice. Came here today, weather was beautiful. Inside the place is a true testament to Swedish interior design. I felt like I was in the movie Sleeper (Woody Allenif you haven't seen it, go rent itfreaking hilarious). Lots of white. Minimalist. Very Euro. A little cold. Reminds me more of a club and I felt like I should've been in my Prada sunglasses and high-end Guess jeans and FCUK shirt with a huge hole down the side, and high on e. But alas I wasn't. I was wearing Lucky Brand jeans. What an American turd I am. So anyway, I opted to go outside where there were about 25 tables outside capitalizing on the massive width of the sidewalk. Although nearly every table was taken, I took a cappuccino and a piece of cheesecake in the early afternoon and just sat there. The cheesecake was kinda meh. It tasted like the pre-made boxed kind. The cappuccino was good though. Definitely a great place for coffee.
