I saw many doctors, including specialists of varied kinds, approximately 10 in total. Each had helped, to a degree, but I still had enough problems to cause me to go on crutches and eventually into a wheelchair, when my elbow could not handle crutches anymore. I had seen approximately 10 recommended doctors. The last one I spoke to had been trained at the hospital for special surgery in NY and was considered the "best-of-the-best" in the Bergen County, NJ area. He told me he thought the only hope for me, after the cortisone shots, orthotics, shock-wave therapy, physical therapy, ultrasound, and the other treatments I had received, was surgery. He recommended Dr. Levitsky, as another doctor to consult, if I wanted another opinion. My podiatrist also recommended Dr. Levitsky and so did another doctor of mine. These doctors were completely independent of each other, so I figured Dr. Levitsky must be excellent. I went into Dr. Levitsky's office in Fair Lawn, NJ, in November of 2012, in a wheelchair and he prescribed a cam walker for my foot and ankle, added physical therapy for both the foot and ankle, and general advice to let pain be my guide for how much I could try walking on my foot, while in the cam walker. After six weeks, he got me out of the wheelchair, onto a knee-walker and after 7 months, I was walking 3 x 30 minutes a day, for a total of 90 minutes, without any assistance at all. I never needed the crutches, wheelchair or knee walker again, nor did I require surgery. Dr. Levitsky helped me in ways that even the most highly recommended doctors in my area could not. He helped me to overcome plantar fasciitis, tendonitis and arthritis. My experience with him is that he is an excellent orthopedist for foot and ankle problems!!!!!!!! Dr Liu took all my pain away and gave me back my lifting abilities all while treating me like an actual person, not like a dollar sign as i had been in Erie. he explained the surgery completely, and the team set up everything from my hotel as well as travel to and from the hotel to surgery center. i have often spoke with folks debating on getting surgery done and hands down the most amazing place i've had work done. and because of that, i went to them again last year for detrimental cervical spine issues. In early 2025 was told my spinal column c5-c3 was unstable and in x-rays you could see it tipping off to the left. the pain i endured was so bad, i often thought about just ending existence. my pain was as if someone put red hot coals under my skin and into my muscles from my skull down to my lower lt region and across my entire back and into my shoulder and down both arms...and the pain was 24/7 with zero relief for months. Dr. Bitan preformed a double discectomy with the insertion of 2 cadaver bones and a mesh around c3-5. I INSTANTLY had relief of all that pain. recovery went well as i was back to doing the bulk of my normal life within a couple days and as the pain subsided from the surgery (he really had to move things around as i have a large, muscular neck) i've been accomplishing more and more of my life again (this spring i will go back to cutting firewood) and i've even picked up a few NEW hobbies in life.... During the first operation, he made sure to include the entire family on all of the updates (15+ people) and made sure to be very transparent during post-op. This arrogant jerk did not even bother to read my charts or the tests that I had taken a week earlier at Weill Cornell imaging. All he wanted to do was get home quickly because there was a freak snowstorm and I was his last patient. When I tried to describe my issue, and you don't go to a colorectal surgeon for a hangnail, He just blew me off and said " take down your pants! ". I was laying sideways on a hard examination table with my pants and tight around my knees. No gown. No sheet. No nothing! Needless to say I got out of there as quickly as possible and made an appointment with a different colorectal surgeon. Same hospital. Different doctor. Dr. Kelly Garrett. She was at least able to diagnose my problem and send me in the right direction.

I had to take the whole day off work to go up to Washington Heights and see him. Once I was there, my appointment (including several rounds of waiting time) took almost FOUR HOURS. The tech who did most of the vision tests on me was very rude and impatient, which led to my ultimately getting the wrong glasses prescription. Dr. Farris himself did not explain anything to me, put drops in my eyes that made my vision blurry for hours without giving me any sort of warning about this, and told me that to get a prescription for contacts (which had been the whole point of my appointment with him!) I would have to make ANOTHER appointment with him, which would cost $500, and would not be covered by my insurance. He also said that getting contacts was a "2 month process." To hell with that! I went to an optician in my neighborhood and got the right prescription for glasses AND contacts for a fraction of what Dr. Farris would have charged me, all in under an hour. When I went to my appointment, I made sure to bring my paperwork from previous doctors so he could see the tests I had already taken and the corresponding results so he would have an idea of what was happening with me. When I hand him the paperwork and explain what it is, he literally tells me, "I'm sorry, I'm not going to read all that," and starts laughing. I'm not suggesting he read every single word, but at least glance through the papers, get an idea of what is going on. If it was you who were ill and needed help, wouldn't you want your doctor to take a few minutes and look through your file? I've been to doctors before who at least reviewed what I gave them. Would it cost so much to at least TRY TO HELP??? Or at the very least, don't LAUGH about it. You have someone who is in pain sitting in front of you, and you're laughing as if it's all a joke. The remainder of my visit was a series of, "I don't know how to help you...," and insulting suggestions that my symptoms were all in my head. And this was all during my first appointment, without him either reading my paperwork or even performing a single test on me. He looks professional and his credentials all are good, but it's just an image. My mom had been suffering from terrible knee pain after going through a slew of shots and…read moremedication she was finally sent for an MRI which showed a meniscus tear and arthritis, her ortho at the time said she needed a knee replacement, my mom has many co-morbidities and we knew that knee replacement wasn't the safest option for her. I researched alternatives for knee replacement and found Dr. Levy's office and made an appointment for a consultation. We first met with his PA Kevin who conducted a very thorough examination and as mom stated, she had never had that type of extensive orthopedic exam ever, plus Kevin is a very nice guy, patient and very knowledgeable, then we met with Dr. Levy who went over the MRI in great detail with us, we found out that mom had issues in addition to her torn meniscus (turns out at surgery she had 2 serious tears we were never informed of), he told us mom didn't need knee replacement (the practice's bottomline is to save the joint as best as possible) and went into detail as to the procedure he was to perform as well as addressing the menisci, both Dr. Levy and Kevin took their time with us and answered any questions we had. Mom had her surgery in December and is doing well. Dr. Levy and his staff are nice, professional and caring. I was so impressed by Dr. Levy's practice and philosophy that I ended up treating with him for an issue that I've had for over a year, I saw 4 different doctors by the time I was given a script for an MRI and was told nothing could be done for me, one doctor stated I may need a knee replacement, I saw Dr. Levy who easily found my issue by studying my MRI closely and I am scheduled for surgery in the near future. If it weren't for Dr. Levy's knowledge (he's a researcher and inventor as well) I still would be on the vicious cycle of cortisone shots, PT and gel shots. In my experience, it's amazing how insurance companies will easily pay for a major surgery like a total knee replacement (which I don't need) than pay for other treatment that they'd otherwise think is considered alternative, I gladly will treat out of network in order to get the treatment that I need instead of being treated in a cookie cutter way (like being told I need a total knee replacement when I had 'some' arthritis and in a small part of my knee) and Dr. Levy doesn't treat anyone in a cookie cutter way, he treats them as individuals with different needs. I highly recommend him and his staff. Mom treats in the Ironbound section of Newark, and I treat in his Millburn location and both locations are great!

The nerve of this place! Never going there again (and I suggest you avoid this place as well).

Also to my mom's credit, she pored through the internet looking for a qualified specialist. She checked Dr Chatpar's background and made an appointment. I joined my mother for the visit. Dr Chatpar and his staff were stellar. A comprehensive history was taken after which Dr Chatpar appeared. He was genuinely warm. There was never a sense that he was trying to escape the room or that he had anything on his mind but his patient. He suggested Prolia as the treatment and he assured us that he wanted us to ask him any questions. He listened to our concerns and adjusted his advice in consideration of our hesitation to commence Prolia infusion until protected by a covid-19 vaccine. I am writing this review on my mother's behalf because she doesn't want to have a social media account. Her words: "Dr Chatpar is the best! He is more than a 5. Whatever the highest rating is, he rates higher!"

Sherman was wanting to know if I had voted. It was totally inappropriate for a medical professional to bring up anything having to do with politics and even more so that he made his own personal political bias apparent. This was a most disturbing and unprofessional medical appointment.
