Very friendly and quick service. Clean inside and had soft Arabic music in the background. The man at the front was super sweet and even offered juice for my daughter. I got a beef shawarma plate with lamb sheesh kabob. My salad was fresh and the veggies were crunchy. It had a basic dressing on it, I mixed it with rice to eat. The rice was very good, Persian style with saffron from the taste of it. The beef shawarma was good , not too fatty, and the lamb was yummy, it was juicy and cooked perfectly. The white sauce was thick and tied all the food together. If I had to complain I'd say meat and rice ratio were a little off , but was still a generous enough portion for you to eat and have leftovers. Stay far away from this place. We ordered the Meal for 4 and the 5 lamb shank tray and the portion sizes were not what were advertised. The meat and chicken were dry and shriveled, seemed like they were prepared days prior and just reheated. Food was not edible and cold. Falafel was very hard and no flavor. The skewers of meat were thin and sliced in half to look like 2 skewers! The portion size was not enough for the amount of people they advertised for and we were left embarrassed in front of our dinner guests. Not worth the high prices. I spent over $200 for this order and didn't have enough food for my small dinner party. When I called today to discuss with the manager about our disappointment, she was defensive and would not take any accountability. She was very rude and told me that I must just not like her food and she has never had any complaints. I see she had many other low stars complaining similarly. Very poor customer service! read more

We ordered a small catering package from Ali Baba Kabab (2 platters chicken, 1 platter mixed grill, 1 platter lamb shank, and your normal sides) and the presentation and food quality was top notch. I wish I would of taken pictures but they do a great job at making the food look beautiful and the food is even better than the presentation. My wife and I lived in Dubai for 10 years and traveled very extensively, and this was the first meal we have had since we've been back that could compare to the quality (meat quality is definitely Halal, rice quality is great, and hummus was off the charts fresh, and fattoush wasn't over dressed which many places get wrong). I believe it was the owner and his wife (sorry if it's not as I don't know), but they were extremely welcoming and helpful. I will always support people with great energy and the food matches. It was a Saturday afternoon and Hummus was on the mind . Drove past this newer place a few times and thought " Ali Baba " sounds amusing. But let me tell you , anything but . AAMAZING !! I almost lost it when I saw the Hummus Plate and the way it was served . It was elegant and tasteful , very nice presentation. I have had my share of Hummus which is as simple as it gets . The restaurants that can do it exceptionally and then deliver on the rest of the menu is right here. The salads were fresh , the dips are deep with flavor . The food is good here. The owners and staff are nice. We had an issue once with an online order. Well not really an issue but I guess 3 orders came in with the exact same order. So it was a bit confusing to everyone. But the only reason I don't eat here more often is because it's not that close by. My new favorite Persian/middle eastern neighborhood restaurant!!! We used to go to the city to get some food like this but now we don't have to anymore. I had the chicken tawok. Chicken was cooked to perfection. Juicy and delicious!!! Meal came with basmati rice which was awesome. It also comes with a small salad. I had to try the falafel appetizer. 6 HUGE peaces!!!! Crispy on the outside....moist and flavorful on the inside. Yumm!! Best falafel hands down. Garlic sauce and hot sauce were very good too. Not watered down like at some other places. Excellent service and great food! Nice portion sizes too. Grabbed chicken mix plate (excellent) and beef Kabab to go last night, I'll be honest I was not expecting the food to be as good as it is. Glad I tired it and will be coming back with family. Update: I had given this place 5 stars because first two times I tried the food was good. Stopped ion today as I was in the area from Wisconsin to visit a Keto Bakery. Needed lunch, so I looked up some Middle Eastern establishments. They have a nice menu, and you order at the counter, and they'll bring your food out to you. I love lamb, so I opted for their Persian Special, a lamb shank. It came with some Basmati rice. I'm eating low carb, so I did not eat much of the rice, but it was very good. The lamb shank, was fantastic! So tender and flavorful, and came with some sort of au juice, which I poured some over the lamb. No Knife needed, as the lamb was fall apart tender. I'll definitely be stopping back here next time I visit the Keto Bakery! Service was also vert friendly and prompt. read more

Had a great experience with Alibaba Kababs over the weekend. We hadn't tried the lamb shanks and decided to order for a family dinner. Out of this world delicious - the meat was falling off the bone tender, perfectly flavored. My parents loved every bite and I was so happy. I have been to many restaurants but I have to say this one really stood out to me. I got the chicken shawarma. It came with fries. Whenever I go to a restaurant that serves middle eastern food, I always get a shawarma sandwich. This place is definitely up there for some of the best shawarma. It is also Zabiha halal which is a huge plus to those who eat halal. It's a hidden gem and not many know about it so I recommend you stop by for a shawarma sandwich or any other middle-eastern food. Very bland food, not authentic at all. The beef shawarma wrap had lots of fatty parts that had to be picked out, and the chicken shawarma wrap was dry, shredded chicken breast. We also ordered chicken shawarma with hummus, which was a very large portion, and only got 1 pita bread to eat with it. Any other kabob restaurant in the Chicago area gives you a heap of pita bread to eat with hummus. Also, the garlic sauce was mostly mayo with a hint of garlic. Just very underwhelming, bland food.
