We decided to get all apps - hummus came with warm lavash which we devoured in a jiffy. The dolmas were delicious and it came with yogurt sauce. The falafel was freshly made it was amazing. The food here was superb. My visit to Puerto Rico was one to remember and the food here made it even much better. I ordered the Adana as you can see in the photo posted. I REALLY wanted to love this place. Please don't be fooled by these stellar reviews. Don't get me wrong, the food was decent, but definitely not worthy of 4 or 5 stars. We started with the "Greek" salad (no lettuce), hummus ( very grainy and lacked any flavor) and falafel (very dry, and the STRONG taste of cumin killed these for me). This is were we stopped ordering. An authentic Mediterranean restaurant should be able to perfect these dishes while blindfolded. We were not inclined to order anything else from the menu. By far the best food and service we had on the island. Our server was fantastic giving us suggestions and recommendations. Most kids had the nuggets and fries and the Greek salad which were described as excellent one had the pizza which was good. The adults had hummus, feta special and baba ganoush. Mains were falafel, chicken shush kabobs, and adna kabob - no complaints from the group and no plate had food at the end :) All was delicious EXCEPT for all appetizers ordered only one lavish was included and each additional was $4 each. The food here is great regarding taste and quality. The service is excellent. They were really friendly when we came with a large group, and took photos for us (it was a celebration for 3 friends' white coat ceremonies). I enjoyed the "Mixed Plate" which I wondered would fill me up, but it was more than enough food if you share the famous bread and hummus appetizer beforehand. I could barely finish the plate of lamb, beef, and grilled chicken. All meats were pretty good! The rice was cooked nicely and the pickled vegetables reminded me of Vietnamese food (the veggies that come with Banh Mi). The lamb doner plate came with a TON of sliced lamb. It was more on the dry side. 1 star off because its pretty pricey, my plate was $30 and although my friend's parent generously paid, I still would consider that factor in returning. However, this is Puerto Rico pricing especially due to lack of ingredients on the island itself, and its in a touristy area. Overall, if I'm really feening for some Turkish food it's nice knowing Ali Babi is there. read more

Let me start out by saying that this food is very good. I live in NJ/NY and have had my share of Turkish food. The food is probably a 4/5, but everything else is like a 2/3. Here's my free advice from a marketing professional: 1. Larger portion sizes. A falafel entree should have more than 4 falafel. Typically I've gotten 6 with a meal which is usually perfect. The sides were also barely a spoonful. Even the baba ganoush was spread thin on the plate to look like it was more than it was. 2. Advertise better. Their location is hidden so there's definitely the need to stand out. Positioning yourself as a vegan/vegetarian option is definitely a smart idea. However try a special or daily deal (e.g. $30 for a two course meal) This would ensure you're getting at least $30 per person for each check. 3. Be a little more lively and have better recommendations. I asked for any house favorites and the server hesitated. Also Kunefe is the best dessert ever. When we asked about it, Ali Baba didn't have it available. (Major bummer!) Instead we went somewhere else for dessert. Overall the food is good. However sometimes you need a little more (especially when it comes to service) to get customers! read more

Authentic turkish food. Had the Mix Grill for 2 + baklava for dessert My partners grandmother made home made baklava and he said this tasted the same. The mix grill was lamb, sausage and chicken with all the sides. All the sides were delicious! I favored the lamb while my partner favored the sausage. We had it all cooked medium. We neither liked the chicken but for the amount of food it was delicious. I recommend asking for kore lamb or sausage subtract the chicken. And definitely get the baklava. I had mine with ice cream. Hard to find, but worth the search! This little Mediterranean/Turkish restaurant was such a delight. In order to find it, look for the Starbucks. To the left (if you're looking at the front entrance of Starbucks) , there is an alley/passageway that you need to walk down in order to find the restaurant. It's in the back. Everything we ordered was great - ginger, martini, cucumber martini, Turkish oldold fashion, and house Mojito... All fabulous! Tucked into the back of a well worn main strip in Condado, Ali Baba is a hidden treasure. The server was extremely kind, helpful, and wasted no time bringing our food out. He must have seen the hunger in our eyes after a long day at the beach. We ordered the hummus, imam biyaldi, roasted peppers (without feta), and falafel. We soaked it up with fresh lavash which was perfectly puffed and crispy. Everything was delicious - the food was definitely prepared with love. The falafel were juicy, the roasted peppers had a great tang to them, and the eggplant dip was super fresh with strong umami flavor. The hummus was a little runny for my taste but still yummy. Came here as a group of three with my sisters around 7:30pm. The food, service, and ambiance was great. We sat inside due to the heat and humidity outdoors. We ordered falafel, grilled cheese, and hummus as starters which was amazing. Flavors, freshness, and texture were the main point of these appetizers. As for our main courses, we ordered the vegetable casserole, Kesari Pide, and chicken "shish" kebab. Vegetable casserole was a great portion with amazing seasoning. Amazing how the chef turned what seemed like a simple dish to a great memory especially as a vegan/plant-based eater. The kesari pide was crispy and comforting with an amazing cheese pull! The chicken kebab was flavored/seasoned to perfection while remaining enough moisture to enjoy with a bed of rice and veggies. The family was tiered of the same old same old fried food we have been eating on our PR vacation so this was the first non Puerto Rican restaurant we tried, being among the highest rated/reviewed restaurant in San Juan. Boy oh boy did they not disappoint! This was a nice break from the fried food and was also great because it was much better than any Mediterranean restaurants in our home town! Everything we had was absolutely delicious. If you have picky taste buds, go for the chicken curry, no one could say anything bad about that one! The lamb here was amazing, although some might not like lamb for the foreign taste it has. What stole the show was the appetizers, though! The bread each appetizer comes with is pure heaven!
