Today I checked out the new Ali'i Coffee coffee location . It's on the Makai side of Ala Moana shopping center . The ground level next door to Mrs.Fields cookies but unfortunately they're close for business so sad . I ordered my go to drink iced white chocolate mocha latte. It was very delicious and also gave me a little caffeine boost for the morning. There's a few tables inside as well as outside . Service is friendly and pretty fast . Now I know there's Ali'i coffee in the mall I will be definitely going there more often . I've tried a pistachio matcha latte, an ube drink, etc. Atmosphere - Cute atmosphere, definitely coffee shop vibes and sounds. There is seating, bench style along the wall with wood stools on the opposite site. There is also "bar" seating along the window but not too many seats, maybe like 2 - 4 people. I'm a big fan of coffee, so it was hard for me to believe I've never been here. I've had their coffee elsewhere over the years, but this cafe is a popular and nice one. It's at Ward Village so it's a convenient place to stop if you're shopping in the area. There's plenty of free parking. Outside they have a bunch of sidewalk tables; inside more including a larger one for a group. They have a full menu of coffees and smoothies, plus food for breakfast and lunch. Prices are reasonable for the area. The pastries disappear fast, so getting there early is necessary if that's what you're going for. The staff was very friendly and fast with orders. I came here to study and use my computer, and I wasn't just taking up space without buying anything. I ordered a sandwich that cost nearly $20, but I had barely settled in and hadn't even had a chance to use the Wi-Fi. When I asked a staff member if they had ketchup or Tabasco, An old lady said she didn't and went to the back to get Sriracha. she stayed back there for quite a while, and as soon as she returned, the Wi-Fi stopped working on my computer. The timing was extremely suspicious. It felt as though the Wi-Fi may have been intentionally disconnected because she saw me come in with my computer and assumed I would stay there to use it. When I raised the issue, she insisted that nothing was wrong, even though the internet clearly wasn't working on my computer. I was a paying customer and did not deserve to be treated this way. We stopped here just be chance early morning on a weekday and had a wonderful small little breakfast. We both had already had coffee, so we came here for a small bite to eat, which is kind of funny considering it's a coffee place. I got an acai bowl and my wife got a cinnamon toast thing. Both were really good and totally hit the spot. The cinnamon toast was somehow dry and delicious and perfect. It was like a crunch toast, that was dry and tender at the same time. Let's start off with service. The ladies working the counter were super friendly. It was my first time here and asked for her opinion. She suggested either the queen or the prince. Super nice. Coffee: "The Prince" which has hints of caramel and sea salt. Super good. You can really taste the sea salt and caramel. I got it iced and large. I stopped by to pick up some coffee on the way to the beach the other day. Personally, I didn't find the baristas to be very friendly. They were pretty busy when I arrived, so I waited around 10 minutes for my drink. I got the Ube Latte and loved it. The ube flavor was strong and so delicious. This is my favorite coffee spot in the area. I wish they were open a touch longer, but that's just a side note. I usually get a matcha here, but they have so many kinds of cold brews--you can even get one in a growler, so you can enjoy it at your leisure. The service is wonderful here, too. The people behind the bar and patient and nice and helpful with suggestions. It really matches the vibe of this place. The seating is limited inside, but there are also seats available outside. There is free wifi, so if you need to do some quick work here, it's a nice option. If there's no seating, I would recommend walking down the street to the bigger tables that are also in the shade to do work. Or relax! Aside from coffee, they do have a great variety of food. I would recommend you eat it ASAP because it doesn't keep well too long. However, everything on the menu is excellent. I once ran the Honolulu marathon, walked to Alii coffee after, and ate a burrito to continue my walk home. Anyway, I love this spot. Cute little coffee shop that I came to meet some friends at! I didn't try any food but a friend of mine got a waffle and said it was pretty good! I believe I tried the Queen, and it was pretty tasty! I decided to also buy some coffee beans to take home as well. They had plenty of seating inside and outside, and I loved the giant windows to let the light in. It made the place feel spacious. The person who took my order was also very friendly, he helped narrow down my options as I asked him what he would recommend for me. Ali'i Coffee Ward was a last minute decision to try but I am SO glad I did! The interior is a bit small but the drinks are to die for! Iced Taro Ube Latte: 10/10 Purple Haze: 8/10 Banana Bread: 8/10 The ube latte was the best I've ever had! The Purple Haze was so unique and a delicious blend of tea that I really enjoyed. The staff was friendly and really made sure customers were satisfied. They also were able to make a lot of adjustments to drinks if needed, which was nice to see them happy to accommodate. So good! This coffee shop is located in Ward near Kamitoku Ramen and Sugarlina Bakeshop along Auahi Street. Plenty of free parking is available in Ward Shopping Center. There's also plenty of outdoor and indoor seating available, and wifi is free if you want to get work done! The cashier + baristas were really friendly and my order was out promptly! The food itself was delicious -- the sandwich was served on a buttery, flaky croissant, and it was savory and delicious. The matcha latte was strong and not too sweet. I enjoy going to Ali'i Coffee for my weekend coffee fix because they're in a great location. Their shop is in the middle of Ward Village between Kamitoku Ramen and Maile's Thai. My favorite drink is "The Prince" which is a sea salt caramel latte. I always get mine iced since it's too humid to drink a hot beverage. On the days that I want to change it up, I'll get the "Hilo Honey" latte which is made with local honey. Besides having coffee on the menu, they also make sandwiches and flatbread (pizza). There is seating inside the shop and a couple of benches outside. The indoor seating is tight and sometimes, all the seats are taken. The alternate is to just sit outside on the benches. If you are outside, it can get warm and you'll feel the hot air from the AC. The staff are friendly and if you're not sure what to order, just ask them. They are happy to provide suggestions based on customer favorites or flavors you like. Their prices are reasonable compared to the other cafes in Ward Village. For parking, you have a few options. You can park behind the shop in the Ward Center parking structure, across the street at the South Shore Market structure, at the Ward Theater structure or in the Whole Food structure on the 4th floor and higher. BARE NECESSITIES: the COFFEE necessities that is. I needed some caffeine STAT and the Kula Cold Brew from Ali'i Coffee did the trick. There was quite a long line but it was worth the wait. It gave me plenty of time to be indecisive about which drink to order lol. I ended up going with the Kula Cold Brew, one of many coff-tails (specialty coffee drinks) on the menu, since I'm a sucker for lavender in my coffee. They have cold brew on draft that they use for their coff-tails. But next time I'll definitely need to try one of their signature lattes like the Taro Ube or the Queen.
