This time I got the tandoori chicken over rice with extra garlic sauce and the veggie samosas. The chicken was good as always, topped with onions and cilantro, and the portion size is no joke. One order is easily enough for at least two meals. The samosas definitely have some spice to them, so if that's not your thing, be warned! They come with a sweet tamarind date chutney that adds the perfect balance and helps cut through the heat. I was seeking a new shawarma spot, and Alibaba Kebab came at the recommendation of some of my coworkers. When I saw they opened a location semi-close to me, I knew it was the universe telling me to try it. I am SO glad I did. They have a lot of options on their menu, but I opted for a chicken shawarma wrap and a potato samosa. I ordered online which was easy and my food was ready right when I was told it would be. The employees inside were friendly! The restaurant is on the smaller side, so I'd likely only ever get takeout, but you could dine in if you'd like. The food was incredible. The potato samosa had a sweet spiciness to it that I loved, and the shawarma wrap was huge. I'm talking a foot long. The naan wrap was so soft and fresh and I loved the garlic sauce they used. I paid $13 for both, but the wrap was so big, I got two meals out of it. Such an incredible value! I will definitely be ordering from Alibaba Kebab again. Last week I was feeling a bit stuck in a rut food wise, and while searching for options on Yelp I came across the fact this restaurant that is one of the best the East Side has to offer opened up a location closer to my neck of the woods. First let me say that the 5 star rating goes for both the East Side location and the new one in Kenmore. I'm posting for the Kemnore location as it was the one I went to for my most recent visit. I wound up ordering a Large Chicken Shawarma Rice Box, and it hit all the right flavor spots, with the cilantro, red onion complimenting the plentiful amount of seasoned chicken and garlic sauce, which was all on top of an absurd amount of rice... the meal was good enough to keep me full for the whole day! If just looking for a lunch or a smaller bit, the small is probably more than enough. I've had a couple wraps at their original location, and look forward to coming back to this location to try the wraps and curries on offer as well. This is definitely going to become a new regular spot! We got takeout here and it was delicious. We ordered the butter chicken which was our least favorite thing just because it didn't have a lot of flavor. We also ordered the chicken tikka masala rice box which was really good. And we also ordered samosa chaat which was amazing, though beware, it's spicy, but it came with two sauces that cooled it down! We ordered larges for two people and we will have lots of leftovers. The tandoori chicken thigh was an absolute pleasure. I ordered the mango lassi and I don't know if I didn't like it because I don't love me no more because of the consistency today. I also had the rice pudding and the other dessert and it was amazing. I did order the butter chicken however, it did not taste fresh and I did notice the girl pouring it out of a plastic baggie and reheating it in the microwave when I was picking up my food, I actually believe the tikka masala was mixed with the butter chicken because of almonds and cashews being found in the curry.
