Stopped by on the way home from the hike. A decent amount of parking but it was a weekday so I'm sure weekends would be a different story. There's a gas station and restrooms nearby so it's perfect if you've been traveling around the area. You basically walk up and place your order and the menu is HUGE! Anything and everything that you could possibly want, the food was fresh, good quality and home-cooked. Plenty of seating, picnic tables all around the property. It was really enjoyable, extremely relaxing. Had a good time there.

Great food, but even better service! Huge shoutout to Zac for taking such fantastic care of us tonight. He is fast, friendly, and super accommodating. Exceptional service makes all the difference, and Zac nailed it.

On Alice how I've meaning to come visit you for so long! I had low expectations coming here as it is in the middle of the woods... how good of a place can this be??? Oh yes it can be SUPER good! This is definitely an iconic place to come and stop by after a nice drive. We got some childcare this AM and Of course the first place I wanted to try was Alice's!!! This is no place to dress up for, as it is in the middle of the woods. It is definitely a good idea to wear warm layers in the winter as it does get pretty chilly! The restaurant does have heaters outside which is convenient. But I was glad to have my hat, mittens and warm coat on! You enter the parking lot and you have entered a sea of beautiful vehicles!!! So honestly you get a nice show coming here and admiring all the beautiful sports cards: Porches, McLaren, Ferrari and even one Lamborghini! You enter the restaurant and you come across a tent with the menu on the side. You order there and then they give you a little clicker and you find a place to sit down in the restaurant. The people working there are super friendly and helpful- suggesting some popular dishes!! The food: I had low expectations from a place in the woods. However the food exceeded my expectations! I ordered the potato Benedict and it came with a delicious sauce and a salad. You can also choose to add sides and I added a sausage too. Everything tasted so fresh! My husband got their popular omelette dish and it was very filling! The rye bread they have is super tasty, I had to steal some from husband!! We also got coffee and we were asked often if we wanted a refill which was nice! So all in all this place totally exceeded my expectations. From the friendly service, to the delicious mouth watering food to the ambiance it is a great destination for breakfast or lunch!! Not to mention you get a free show of seeing a plethora of incredible looking cars enter the area while you eat. So I suggest eating outside in the patio to have that view! I did also see many families here too so I may even bring the kids here one day as well and do a separate review how it is with kids! Overall 5 I can't wait to come back here and try something else on the menu!

This restaurant stands, without a doubt as one of my most favorite dining destinations in and around the Bay Area. Our first visit, approximately eight to nine years ago, instantly cemented its place in our hearts and it has since become the star of our favorite random and spontaneous weekend plans. Whether it's for a hearty breakfast, a brunch, a comforting lunch, an evening dinner, or just a simple, soul-warming coffee or hot chocolate, the experience is always perfect. The staff is consistently friendly and exceptionally cool, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The ambiance is truly second to none: a beautiful location infused with warm, cozy vibes that make every visit feel like coming home. I have an immense love for this place.

I usually go to Alice's for breakfast- I happened to pass it and decided to do some take out dessert. I loved the evening ambiance- with heaters and lights. It had such a lot cabin feel - cool evening with heaters outside - gorgeous! The staff is always so friendly and helpful. The dinner menu looked quite interesting- I will have to come back again. My all time favorite place for sticky toffee - if you love sugary delight - hot dessert with ice cream on top, do stop by! You will not be disappointed:)

You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant.

Crazy busy parking lot. We ended up parking our car on the side of the road, a ways from the restaurant. The restaurant was very busy when we were there on a Saturday. Maybe a weekday would be a better time to visit. Wait in line to order your food, get a buzzer and find yourself a table. Service and food were both good, but it was a bit of a zoo on the day we were there.

Having seen it on my way to hikes, I've long been curious about Alice's restaurant. And on my second attempt, we made it! The first time I was going to visit, my friend had called me from Alice's Restaurant's parking lot, letting me know that it's completely congested (inside the parking lot!!!), and suggested we meet elsewhere. On my second visit, while the parking lot was still quite full, we lucked out with another customer leaving, and parked right by the entrance to the restaurant. Pro-tip: folks at the restaurant let us know that there're plenty of parking spots nearby on Skyline. Food here is decent; it's your typical American fare, with pizzas, salads, burgers, etc. We especially enjoyed the pizza! The vibe is causal as others have said, where you walk up to the cashier, place you order, then head to a table of your choosing with your #, and the staff will bring you the food when ready. What makes Alice's Restaurant really special are the people, the charm and beauty of the restaurant and surrounding areas. Owners and brothers Jamie & Andy stopped by separately to say hello and chatted with us briefly; they made us feel welcome and at ease with the place. They both seem super down-to-earth and friendly! In addition to seating areas on the deck and inside the restaurant, there're lots of tables in the back of the restaurant, amongst the tall redwood trees. There's live music two nights per week too. I can see why so many people rave about this spot! While I probably won't make a trip specifically to come eat here, I'll definitely return when we hike in the many neighboring parks (e.g. Windy Hill, El Corte de Madera, etc.)!

My friend and I stopped by yesterday afternoon after a 5-mile hike at the Open Space Preserve nearby. The location is convenient for hikers and bikers, but parking is a challenge. The lot is very small, and while there is some street parking, it was pretty packed. The menu has a wide range of options -- breakfast pizzas, burgers, salads, and more. My friend ordered a coffee and a breakfast burrito, and I ordered a root beer, herb fries, and a half-and-half gluten-free pizza (half wild mushrooms, half Italian combo). Ordering is done outside where they give you a beeper, then you find your own seating. Indoor seating is limited, but there is outdoor seating with heat lamps. We managed to sit inside at the bar area. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Unfortunately, the food was a bit hit or miss. My fries were cold, and although I ordered herb fries, I was given garlic fries instead -- they weren't great. The gluten-free pizza was very small, and with the extra $3 charge for the gluten-free crust, it didn't feel worth the price. The flavor was just okay, nothing memorable. On the positive side, my friend's breakfast burrito was quite large -- she only ate half. The breakfast potatoes, however, were very small and looked a bit greasy. Overall, Alice's is fine for convenience and location, especially after a hike, but given the price and food quality, it's not somewhere I see us frequenting again.

We went to Alice's for the first time over the weekend. I had higher hopes to be honest. We were surprised there wasn't really much of a line on a Saturday, but with the gloomy weather I guess people didn't wanna make the drive. I ordered a blt and a gluten free honey cake. The blt was pretty average. The honey cake was good. The host was really nice, but one of the servers was kinda sassy with us when we confirmed that the honey cake was gluten free. Not sure we would come back here as in our opinion, it wasn't really worth the hype...

The service is friendly and efficient. You order your food upfront and get a buzzer that you place on your table. Someone brings you the food. The host and staff are very friendly. There's seating outside with heaters, and also inside with a dog-friendly area. The food was great. We ordered coffee, fish tacos, fish sandwich, and potato Benedict. The soup of the day was also delicious- veggie medley. Will definitely be coming back.

This was our first time visiting, and we were a little confused at first about how the whole process worked. When we arrived, there was a line of about 20 people outside, which we assumed was for seating but it turns out that's actually where you place your order before heading in to find a table. Luckily, the line moved fairly quickly, and they have large menus posted outside so you can browse and be ready to order by the time you reach the front. One thing I wasn't a big fan of was having to pay and tip upfront before knowing what the service would be like. They did have a cash tip jar as well, so I held off on tipping with my card and decided to leave a cash tip later based on our experience and I'm glad I did. Once we placed our order, we were pleasantly surprised to find that there was tons of seating available inside, out on the patio, and around plenty of picnic tables, even though it was a busy Saturday afternoon. We were handed a pager, and as soon as we sat down, it buzzed. I went up to the pickup area and found it was just our drinks, so I headed back to the table. About 10 minutes later, the pager went off again and I went back to grab our meals. I had a classic cheeseburger and chips. It was simple but really well done, the burger was juicy, and the bun was great. As we were eating, I noticed that while most people picked up their food like I did, some tables were getting food delivered to them. Not sure what the system is there, but it seemed a little inconsistent. That said, there were staff roaming around checking on guests and offering drink refills, which was a nice touch. Everyone we encountered was super friendly, working hard, and had great attitudes. It made me feel good about leaving a proper tip at the end. The setting was really charming, surrounded by woods and a small body of water. It had a relaxed, almost rustic vibe that made the whole experience feel unique and memorable. Definitely worth a visit, just go in knowing the setup is a little different!

    Sarah F.

If there is one thing I'd recommend is the BMW BURGER! The ingredients taste so fresh and delicious and I always come back ordering the same thing. The hot chocolate is so comforting especially when it gets colder during the winter. Parking gets crowded on the weekends but as long as you circle around for a few minutes, there's always someone bound to leave. Highly recommend if you want to make a drive out here and I love that they're dog friendly.

Been coming here for years now. But now w/Charlie the Challenger, it's a great drive to come to Alice's, say hello to the bikers and auto enthusiasts, and to strangers that are visiting or just stopping in to grab a bite to eat. The experience here - never a dull moment. From the hostess, servers, just the entire staff in general are great. The food is delicious so there you go - come on in to experience Alice's. You'll love it here =D

    Yes, it is ADA compliant.

    Is this place dog friendly?

    Yes,they are very friendly..

Are they accommodating and very careful for food allergies?

Not that I'm aware of. I suggest you call and ask about the specific allergies. And keep in mind seating is very close together so if it's something inhaled/smell/odor related that'll be a real issue.

Pro tip is to first get on the waitlist at the desk out front then wait for their text while playing at the adjacent soccer field, which is so well kept and great for running around and working up an appetite. Everything we ordered was delicious. My favorites were the "Hunter" wood-fired pizza. The crust is amazing - I'd describe it as tender. Great balanced combo of mushroom, sausage, mozzarella, and other toppings. I really liked the marinara-pesto sauce on the meatballs. Solid app. The Rudy's jalapeño burger was solid but not amazing. Despite not offering high chairs or kids meals, they have a ton of families because it's otherwise kid-friendly food in a kid-friendly environment. The food comes out super fast, and all the employees are really nice. They also quickly clear your table when they notice empty trays. My only gripe is with parking, and it's a huge problem. The restaurant is somewhat in the middle of nowhere so understandably people have to drive to get there. We have eaten at here only 4 times despite coming here at least twice as often as that because we cannot find parking. There are times we've been able to get a table but simply cannot find a spot to park and then had to leave. When the weather is nice, there can be a long wait for a table, and we've also had to leave once because our kids were super young and didn't have the patience. Other than the bar, there's nowhere to go to wait. There are employees in the lot kinda guiding traffic, but the issue is it's really a matter of luck. Someone who showed up way after you may find a spot sooner than you, and it sucks. Sometimes it gets gridlocked too because some parts of the lot are narrow and you can't pass a car waiting for a spot, or a car isn't considerate in pulling over and letting others by. I would love to come here more regularly, but it's such a hassle. We try every couple of months ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This was really solid! The chicken came with a choice of sauce, and I went with the Tequila Lime Jalapeño. I loved the tanginess of this one and it wasn't too spicy at all. The Caesar Salad was also great! My partner chose the Cobb Salad and Brussel Sprouts. I tried the Brussel Sprouts, and these were perfectly crispy and well-prepared. We were a table for 10 so we got the space in the arcade room which was perfect for us! I like that we can order through their QR code website and we don't have to worry about splitting the bill. My husband and I ordered the Ghostwood Smash Burger! Unfortunately I didn't get a photo of it but the patty was super juicy and delicious! Also ordered a side of salad which was decent. Overall service was great and servers were very attentive. Definitely would love to come back again to try other things on the menu!
