I don't like giving negative reviews, but based on how many rave reviews Alisha Khan has, I feel the need to warn others as I don't think past reviews are currently relevant. I chose Alisha as our wedding photographer because of her great online reviews and because of the pictures she has posted of her work. Her prices are decent IF the quality would be as advertised. I found that Alisha was very difficult to get a hold of after the fee was paid. It would take another email follow up before she replied. I understand that photographers are busy, as is anyone at work, but the length of time it would take for her to reply after she was paid the full amount was not professional. On the day of the wedding, I didn't have any photos on my phone and the wedding party wasn't really taking any pictures either. I had no pictures of myself or my husband and I had asked Alisha to send me one or two 'sneak peak' pictures when she had time. After asking for this and being told, 'tomorrow' or 'soon' for about 6 weeks, I gave up trying and just decided to wait for the album. Alisha showed up on the wedding day with a 16 year old girl as the second photographer. The girl was sent to take photos of the groom and groomsmen and when the album came back, there were very few photos and a couple of irrelevant ones too. Alisha stayed with the bridesmaids and I and out of the whole album, the vast majority of photos were of me getting my makeup done and photos leading up to actually getting into our dresses to leave for the ceremony. Alisha did not capture one proper photo of my daughters walking me down the aisle. The pictures were all being taken from the side at a bad angle. There were maybe 6 photos in total of our guests, many photos of the same shot filtered in various lighting - hardly any photos were in proper focus and most were either too dark or too light. From the 500+ shots Alisha sent as the final album, I think approx. 10 of them are nice. I was married before and used a photographer in Vancouver and he was incredible. He charged half of what Alisha charged and the quality was absolutely amazing. He sent a 'sneak peak' the next day and showed us photos throughout the evening. I had something to share with people. With social media what it is, you want to be able to show your special day as soon as possible - even if it's just one professional photo. It took 9 weeks to receive my photos... if they were worth the wait I would not complain. I want to point out that I am not being too critical. I saw the photos and thought they were just ok (for the most part but some were terrible). Then I sent the link to my closest friends and family just saying, "Enjoy!" and every single one of them came back commenting on how sorry they were for us. We will never get this day back and Alisha's photographs were beyond disappointing. A word of advice because I learned the hard way - take online reviews into consideration, but ask family, friends, neighbours, for referrals.
