Food may be essential as fuel for the body but good food is fuel for the soul. And Allô Mon Coco (@allomoncocooff) believes in serving some good food for the soul. In love with the ambiance, in love with the vibes, but more importantly, in love with the food.

Was in the mood for some "breakfast food" during my lunch so I dropped by Allo! Mon Coco during my lunch. Even though they have 2 entrances, because of the Covid-19 situation, they closed off the entrance inside the shopping mall (Place Vertu) so patrons need to enter from outside of the mall. They had a terrace set up in front and I'm not sure if it was because of the weather (it was slightly cloudy) but no one was outside. I went inside and waited to be seated. The restaurant was what I considered bustling with activity. I was seated and the paper menu was placed along with a paper drink menu. I took a look at the menu to decide what I wanted. Not sure if this was the case but my paper menu was in French. This didn't bother me as I can speak/understand French but people who can't might have issues and might need to ask the wait staff for assistance. I decided to order a plate which comprised of two eggs which I ordered as sunny-side up, two half waffles (so a complete waffle) topped with strawberries, blueberries, and cream, some slices of bacon, some cubed fried potatoes, 2 slices of toast, a watermelon slice, and a grapefruit slice). It arrived relatively quickly. I found it to be quite a lot of food. I had coffee as well which was included and the wait staff topped/refilled my coffee regularly. The food was very good and service was also good. I noticed that they didn't have WiFi (or my devices didn't detect any free WiFi signal with their name as the access point) and they were too far from Place Vertu's food court area to benefit from the free WiFi offered by Place Vertu.

I used to love this place, but lately the service has become unbearable. The staff is so unpleasant at this Allo mon Coco. Service aside, the food is pretty good. I had a great crabcake eggs benedict the last time and the potatoes are to to die for. This place is a pretty typical breakfast restaurant, orher than their amazing potatoes nothing really separates them from any other breakfast joint. Would i go back? Yeah probably...but more so because it's close to home

On this beautiful Easter day, we went to Allo Mon Coco which is located by the shopping center Place Vertu. Luckily we got there early, the restaurant was packed and there was later on a waiting line who continued till the outside. Servers were very quick, very friendly and helpful. One of us didn't want to order a plate that was too sweet, so the server recommended the Froma Fruit plater which completed her satisfaction. As far as my order, I was craving some good steak since it's been a week I've been a vegerarian week . I had the American "Steak and Eggs" style. Steak was medium perfectly grilled and the swiss cheese that I ordered on my fries where extras (they'd add them if you request them). Tomatos had a gorgeous color and they tasted fresh :) Bol de café au lait was good too but it looks like a bowl of cappuccino to me. This place is definitely worth it and we got our orders in a short amount of time! Which is amazing on a busy Sunday. Cheerz for the team :)

I always order choco coco and it never deceives me! Spacious place, nice decor, great for a brunch day. Always packed on sundays. Service is good, waiters are courteous.

Had breakfast with my team. I ordered the eggs and Italian sausages and had the French toast. The eggs were ok, but the French toast was way too dry as they over cooked it. Our waitress was also really slow with our order.

Brunch time and this place was packed! The wait was short and quick, there is quite a selection of items to order. I was in between getting the strawberry flambé or the deluxe breakfast. The waiter was very honest and stated the flambé can be very sweet and soggy so I went with the deluxe breakfast and was not disappointed! It came with a Nutella-strawberries and cream on waffles, eggs, potatoes, toasts and coffee and it was amazing! I really appreciated the waiter's honesty! The food came out VERY quickly! Loved the food and service! Definitely worth the wait!

A delicious brunch! I love the choices in coco breakfast. You can choose a plate with both sweet and salty stuff. However, they do not tell you that the cheddar cheese shreds in harsh potato is 2.50dollars! Also, the maple syrup is 2.50 dollars. Just be careful when they ask you if you need any thing. Two plates end up with 46 dollars. Pretty pricy......

    Toscana omelette......yum!

We stayed…read moreat Le Mount Stephen Hotel without doing much research on dining options, assuming we'd just find something nearby. But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

While the restaurant is highly celebrated and located within a Michelin-recognized hotel building, it does not hold a Michelin star of its own. But it is extremely classy. We decided to do lunch instead of dinner and it was a little more our speed, but if very, very attentive waitstaff is not your thing and $200 for lunch I'd skip this spot. We went because it had reviews for amazing beef Wellington and my husband hadn't had any in decades. And we were on vacation so let's go! The food was beautifully plated and service was impeccable inside of an amazingly decorated dining room that looked like a library in a mansion. The meals themselves weren't obscenely expensive but add a glass a wine, bread (it was not included) and coffee and it put us close to $200. But it was a great experience and I had never had beef Wellington - it was melt in your mouth good. Might go again next time we come up from CT.

Food was just okay; foie gras was overly sauced. Service was the main issue. My cappuccino was mostly foam, and the replacement was still charged on the bill. Had to wait for a manager who never showed up until much later, and even then, nothing was resolved--just called it a "miscommunication." Overall, poor service and not worth the trip. Would not recommend.

The bar is first come, first served, so if you forget to book ahead, it's definitely worth trying your luck. You can still order anything from the full menu. The modern, upscale interior sets the tone for a fancy brunch experience that feels both elegant and welcoming. Foie gras for breakfast? Absolutely yes. They also have a full bar for anyone who wants something pretty to sip on while enjoying their meal. The servers were bilingual in French and English, and they were kind, attentive, and made the whole experience smooth from start to finish. My goal was to eat as much foe grais as I can on this trip so I ordered the Foie Gras Poached Eggs. OMG starting off with the bread that was on the bottom, it was so soft and fluffy. Literally melted in my mouth. The foie gras had a beautiful sear and was rich and silky, with a texture that honestly reminded me of ice cream. There was also a touch of sweetness in the sauce that cut through the richness in the best way. Every bite was perfectly balanced. I was super impressed and will absolutely try to visit again the next time I'm in Montreal.
